I got same issues my ostro seat post zero set back, need to buy another Seatpost . I just got my bike few weeks ago my saddle need to move backwards at least 20 mm .
I had exact same concern for seatpost offset, and I had to have bike fitting at local bike shop and factor also confirmed that 25mm offset is the one for me.
The deeper you get into comparing one bike fit to another, sometimes the complicated it gets. Especially around stem angle, spacer and what the bar position will actually be when all is said and done.
Great video. I love Factor bikes and was thinking of the Ostro for my next one. How far behind the centre of the bb is the tip of your saddle? I’m the same height and have the same saddle as you and I run mine 60mm from the bb centre. I wear a size 43 s-works with the cleats (look) all the way back and use a 165mm crank. Weird I know but I’m all legs 😀
I will measure my cannondale vs my ostro currently with the zero setback and report back. I wear a size 45 Sidi cleats payed all the way back and 172.5 crank.

Thanks! 52CM def makes sense and always confirm with manufacturer. Did you do a frame comparison against the Sl7? Bars are tough. I like a wider bar to open my chest up and less restriction in my shoulder blades for more comfort. Go with what you are comfortable with!

Hi, My height is 171 cm an my inseam is 79 cm. My saddle height is 71 cm (bb center to saddle top) I have long legs and arms for my torso. My current bike trek madone 54 size and i am pretty happy with this size. Which size should i choose for ostro ?
Large inseam for your height! I compared my system six before ordering ostro size 54. I also asked Factor to confirm. I would consider a 54 based on your measurements and current bike. I also have a 54 madone. Maybe consider a set back post. Always consult with your local fitter but I would consider the same setup as your madone if you are comfortable.

I don’t like to make recommendations but based on your measurements, I would consider reviewing a 54cm and a 25mm setback post due to your inseam. A 52CM seems small. The o2 and Ostro I believe have the same geometry.

I find it comfortable as hell. Most comfortable frame I ever rode besides my Scott addict team issue. I would steer totally the gravel frame as the fork is different as well as the seatpost which is designed for more flex.
Sounds like it will be a bit too small. Setback seatpost and longer stem can squeeze it to work but to pay this much for a bike, it better fit like a glove. Order it direct if you need to but get it in your correct size.
I am chose factor now. Also have a slight dilemma I am 182 cm with 83 cm inseam, not very flexible. Bike fit says pick up 54 and 100 mm reach and I thought for 56
Great videos! How's the geometry on the Ostro? I just got back into cycling more frequently and my race bike from college (Parlee Z4) is feeling a little uncomfortable on my back (ten years later). I'm looking into a Cervelo Caledonia 5, but I'm really intrigued by the Ostro. My recent rides have been 60-70 miles and 5,000+ feet of climbing (mostly in Malibu). I have a 58cm 02 but my bike fitter thinks I'm better off with a 56. We had to do alot to get me comfy on the 58. (Offset seat post, shorter stem, and 40 cm bars instead of 42) I'm a little nervous tbh because it would be an expensive mistake if I got the wrong frame size. 😅
Haha it would be BUT go with your fitters recommendation and also discuss with factor. They helped me size mine using my previous bikes. The o2 and ostro use the same geometry I believe. Go with 56 if they is what is recommended and factor confirms.
Thank you for a great video. Im a bit confused regarding sizing. Im ordering a custom colored one. Im 176 cm tall and 84 inseam. I ride a Bianchi Oltre XR4 in 53 today. Factor reccomends a 52 with 25 mm setback seatpost and 120 mm stem. Compared to the geometry on my current bike, that sounds about right as I ride aggressively. And compared to the two pro’s (without any direct comparison to their level of course) Michael Woods and Simon Clarke (both 175 cm tall) rides a 52. The dealer im buying from wants me on a 54 (only based on height). The same dealer wanted my buddy on a 56, and he’s 183. He went for the 54 based on a bike fit and could not be more happy. Our geometry varies even though people can have the same height. But Factors 54 seems pretty large. And when I compare my current bike to a 52 and 54 on geometry geeks, the 52 is the closest match. Thoughts?
Hey! It’s a tough call. I chose to use my current bike at the time and compared the geometry. I then shared that info with Factor and they confirmed. Factor didn’t have their sizing tool at my time of purchase BUT I did in-fact order the perfect size and even the zero offset post. I got fit to the bike locally and we confirmed my initial post was in fact correct. I ordered both zero and 25mm offset for my time of fit. I think either size will work based off whether your using a shorter stem with 54 and maybe zero offset or 25 offset and longer stem. Go with your gut because the last thing you want is to second guess spending this amount of money.

I'm 5'9" as well, 31" inseam. I ride a 52 coming from 2 Trek 54s (0 offset, 380/80). I'm running a 400/90 barstem and 0 offset with 170mm cranks. I like the fit as is but might have gone 400/100 in retrospect because I sit in the forearms on the bar tops aero position a lot and find it a little shorter than I'd like. Maybe a 25mm offset seatpost would help this?
Interesting that your on a 52. Longer stem would be most logical thing to do but costly with the integrated system. A setback will help but also change your fit relative to your position over the BB. It’s doable if you change the cleat fore/aft to possibly accommodate.
It would be a shot too small. Maybe a 25mm setback post and longer stem BUT the 54 is perfect. I never been more comfortable than I am on this frame. I have owned a few high end bikes too.

When I had got my sizing from Factor in Dec 2021 they had reocmmended a 25 mm offset...You are doing a good job in providing valuable info to potential buyers of this exemplary bike which no doubt costs a bomb. Thanks for the feedback! It’s the amount of setback the clamp is from the centerline of the seat tube. They make a 0 offset and 25 on the Ostro to dial in fit.

Nice bike, some constructive criticism is that it seems that the seat post is too low and the handlebar too high, it does not look as pro as other, remember that most pro have about 10cm drop, most serious cyclist they have about 8cm and beginners have 4-6 cm of drop.
