Steve, unable to find a shoe repairer locally to do the job, using your technique I put tips on a brand new pair of my own shoes. Even if I say so myself they turned out great. All the credit must go to you though for passing on the knowledge you have to your viewers. You are a true craftsman. May you forever continue.

It’s not just your skill, but your generosity of spirit that I admire. You must really love what you do to fix the mistakes of someone else... but to want to teach that person, that gave me the biggest smile of my day. Thank you!

Tony Quigley if you could do that amount of work to that degree of perfection in 20 mins why not start your own shop? You’re an idiot if you think that the length of video is how long the job took . Lightening the colour alone would take a lot longer than that 🙄

Magic! Take two was instant. All that work. He'll recycle the leather. Nothing goes to waste.
What a kind person! That's very thoughtful to reach out to the person who failed to do the job. To offer somebody else how to properly do the job, that would be very helpful if that Cobbler will accept. God bless!

Really, Steve, your channel is amazing in so many ways: I could feel how upset you were about the shoes being ruined; about wanting to help the person who made the mess out of them. I could feel you actually being down about taking the sole apart, your growling stomach (nerves). Your sighs. I don't know of anytime I've watched an upload anywhere that I could hear someone talk and know they were as upset as you were. You have good reason to be upset; it is a shame that something so fine was ruined. Thank you for trusting us enough to share your work in a frustrating situation.

I understand your feelings about repairing other people's work. Years ago, I repaired pipe organs and pianos....many times I have opened up an organ console and was shocked by the previous persons work, or lack thereof! It was a shame that because the work was hidden from view...the previous technician would do a poor job. So the church would end up paying twice for the same work. Somebody to first mess it up...then me to fix the mess. It used to bother me greatly.
