between this video and the very 1st one I saw of his a few days ago, $82k part time (and many more since), Ive decided to take the plunge in to eBay reselling. Justin has the best eBay reselling RUclips channel by far! clear & concise with no fluff or click hype. I appreciate that! Thank you!
Another Tip: Buy all or some your supplies like a scale, bubble mailers or boxes in the beginning off of eBay. This will help you generate some feedback on your account if your a brand new seller.
Never thought of this but really smart
This is an excellent point!
I don't follow many resellers. Some of them are kinda cringy.
I like your down to earth straightforward way of doing videos, there's no nonsense.
I just don't know if I can give up watching my husband dangle his legs out of a dumpster while helping me get boxes. It's kind of fun.
the best eBay youtuber by far.
For anyone curious, Flipwise is absolutely worth the money, no matter what tier you are in. The amount of time saved alone pays for itself, in addition to not getting screwed by the IRS later in the year. Worth every penny.
Wow! 😮 Bravo. From now on any time someone asks me how to sell on eBay I’m going to send them the link to this video! You have an amazing talent for putting information together and explaining it in a way that just makes sense. I’m sure this took a lot of time to create. I think it’s going to be a great resource for new sellers and it gave me some refreshers as well! Enjoy your content and nice to see a new face in the RUclips reseller world.
I refuse to buy U-line products.
Fantastic work Justin - selling on eBay condensed to 25 minutes (only you could fit all that info in!).
Personal thanks from me for being my most trusted and influential eBay mentor/guide this past six months.
I especially value how you approach reselling professionally, with the correct tools, and the right attitude (bit of Stoicism in there?).
Take care, Eddie
This is quite a thorough and detailed video with virtually no time wasted in the process. In the future, if I have anyone interested in selling on eBay, I will be able to simply share this video with them and possibly myself a bunch of time helping and explaining things. This was a job well done and excellent video all around. 💯
Justin is the best eBay reseller channel that I have come across..he explains everything so well..great at what he does
One of my suggestions to beginner sellers is that photos are everything. That main pic will often determine whether the prospective buyer enters your shop or not. Huge margins of dead space (nooo), blurryness (nooo), or ridiculous sloppy placement of a group-item listing (I’m thinking, no thanks because if the seller throws the items together THERE, they won’t care about anything else).
Also, a basic knowledge of simple jewelry repair will help to make a lot of money in the end.
What a fantastic video and boy do I wish I had this a year ago when I started. I am a Flipwise user and it is truly one of the most important tools you can have in your seller toolbox. It changed the game for me.
Thanks for the concise and helpful video. This made even more sense now that I have been on ebay for a bit. I am SO slow in the listing process. Even after several months and trying to speed things up. 4 minutes or less is a dream.
This is a RUclips Hall of Fame Video for Reselling on eBay.........Thank You.....
Exactly!!! 👏
Excellent video, concise and straight to the point. Started my ebay journey 9 months ago and so grateful to Justin for all the great advice he's shared in previous videos, only wish this one had been around at the start of my reselling career. All the tools and processes discussed are spot on including the Flipwise software, it will make your life less stressful to keep track of your inventory and sale, and definitely makes preparing for tax time a breeze.
Great information! I am just starting and found this information very, very helpful. Also, I found tools for my business while sourcing. A tape gun for $1.25, picture frames to make light filters $.50 each, hand held hair dryer for removing labels $2.50, etc. I don't hunt for boxes, but keep my eyes open while out and about. If I find clean, shippable boxes, for free, I pick them up. Thanks for the info, I've subscribe to your channel.
Your content is excellent and thank you for all! Smallish seller (3000 listings $125k)
That’s small?
@@Jar0fMay0 Ha ha, that's what I was thinking! I would love to be a "smallish seller" - one day !
that is not small!
@@eddiehewitt5529 you can and will. Keep grinding ...
@@justinresells perhaps but I still learn from your content
You were an answer to a prayer
Your video's are always top notch!
Looking forward to this one!
Thank you for this content.
This was so good!
Great stuff once again. And thanks for doing all my paperwork.
I’ve learned so much from you. Thank you so much for doing these videos.
Another great much needed video! Thank you!
Very informative video...new sub.
This is great because it it concise and every point is valuable info!
Exceptional video! Thank you for continuing to share your expertise.
Great info that gives me a little kick in the...to get back at it. Loving Flipwise too, very streamlined and easy to use! Thanks
This is excellent Justin! Very organized, concise, and easy to understand! Thank you!!
Wow! That is a sensational video both for beginners and veterans of reselling! Thank you very much!
I started on eBay a little over a month ago and really picked up my RA and OA game the last 2 or 3 weeks. I'm loving it so far. I take it seriously, and my ultimate goal is to do this full time. Appreciate the tips.
Thanks for sharing Justin.
Brilliant Justin. Been selling for 5 years and took this video refresher and picked up buying tape this time to help.
Justin, you are amazing.
Thank you for your generosity.
God bless you and your family.
Yes, I will purchase Flipwise in the coming month when, hopefully, I start to sell on EBay.
Thanks!
i've been selling on ebay consistently for 5 years now, and this video is a great start guide.
Very informative video with lots of great tips! Flipwise has been a game-changer, by the way....prime example of a great investment to help you work smarter & not harder!! Well done!
Great info!
I have a lot of interest for flipwise in Canada
thanks! we are currently beta testing in Canada. if you're interested in testing, fill out this form, and we will get you in there soon! forms.gle/w4UYNoXcvuXxz5vKA
for anyone wondering about cheap label printers i went with a vretti and so far so good. found it on ebay and i love using it over the ink monster that is a regular printer
Wish I had this before I started reselling in April. Great video. My eBay has only had 2 sales in May compared to April I sold about 37 items. Still trying to figure out my way
Love your channel Justin. Question, what is the difference between items that renew every 30 days and delist sell similar?
Here are some questions that I have asked before to other resellers and never got an answer. 1) Is there a good time of day or night to list your items?? 2) When your item runs it course on auctions(the 7 or 8 weeks) does it then count as a new item when you relist it and keep you in the algorithm??
Thanks in advance
Ive been doing free shipping on all my items, but didn't realize the shipping cost. for example, i purchased a vintage camera for $6 and listed for $30.. after shipping and fees I made $9 profit. so let that be a lesson for me. now im thinking of charging buyers a flat rate of 4.99 for shipping.
What size poly mailer is the best for clothing? Do you have different sizes for jeans and shirts?
Once again, great information! I hope eBay pays you something to post these! Thanks Justin!
I wish!
@@justinresells I had my first "over $100" sale yesterday on eBay. A pair of log scribers went for $140 plus shipping. I celebrated. It's the small things in life that count! I'm thankful for your knowledge regarding pictures! I didn't know I could take pictures WHILE listing the item!
Shipping;
So we SHOULDN'T use usps when a box is over 12"? is that true if only one dimension is over??
And if we must use UPS, do we need to call them up to come pick up, or can we drop off at post office for a UPS labeled box??
Was a very nice and well put together video, do you have one or plans of a video on just the business aspect of reselling? Like first steps and what to do to be more legitimate?
Thanks for watching. I don't think you need to do anything to be more legitimate other than what I said in this video!
@@justinresells I always thought you needed to be registered as a business for tax deductions and things like that.
nope
Can you explain what an eBay business account is? I haven’t heard of it but someone told me you pay a monthly fee for it for reduced eBay fees. Do you recommend this?
Hey Justin thanks for all your informative videos. Question about flipwise. I'm assuming it's only available on laptop? If so when will the mobile app version be available? Thanks!
thanks for watching! here is info on mobile: help.flipwise.app/article/10-does-flipwise-have-a-native-ios-or-android-app
I'm an everything seller and interested in learning how to source glass items-- I have boxes of various vases and glass platters etc. and wondering how to go about finding comps etc. especially for ones with no brand names or numbers on them -- can you recommend some youtube channels that may touch on that? thanks!
This is probably one of the the best , descriptive video how to for ebay. Wish he was a bit slower on giving info., but GREAT EDUCATIONAL INFO!!!
you can always watch it twice!
At the base of the video click on settings (the wheel icon) and change the playback speed to 0.75. It will slow the video down a little bit without changing his voice.
@@judithpride1690 makes me sound like I'm drunk
Great video! I do have one question. Why do you research items on the computer and list on the phone? Why not just research and list on the phone. It eliminates a step. You can also use the barcode and image scanner much easier.
I’m faster on the computer. thanks for watching!
Great Videos! Does Flipwise work for others apps (PoshMark, Mercari, etc), or only Ebay?
We are eBay only currently. Thanks!
Love the videos and have learned a lot. You mention that listing on eBay should be done consistently. Have you ever used the feature where you can schedule listings in the future on eBay? I’m wondering how the algorithm would work if I upload 10 items on one day and have it scheduled to be listed one item a day for 10 days to show consistency.
Yes! I talk about that at 12:38 in the video actually.
Thank you! Just found it.
Huge QUESTION;
how can we see the "secret" final sold prices on best offered items, for our evaluation purposes... sometimes most the comp sold prices will have that dumb green slash thru them, so I will never know what it truly sold for on average...??
I believe terapeak shows the actual sold price. It’s the “research” button on the selling screen on the desktop, on my phone I just type “terapeak” into the help bar. It’s a little awkward on the phone, but it works in a pinch.
Can you add a custom from your phone when u list an item??
custom SKU? yep!
If you end a listing, and sell similar items in order to refresh in search will eBay count that as a new listing?
Yep. It gets a new eBay Item ID.
Tried to get flipwise there and not available in UK
We are currently beta testing with UK sellers. If you're interested, fill out this form: forms.gle/7MpBZaa1zeFatFWj9
Is that an Herman Miller in the background?
it is! $5 garage sale fine actually
I did not know it was cheaper to purchase your shipping label through eBay. Thank you for the tip! Once your item has sold, can you still adjust the weight and size? Sometimes I estimate the weight and wonder how important is it to have the exact ounces inputted?
yes, you can adjust the dimensions and weight after it sells
@@justinresellsI am shocked with how cheap that was 😮
@@justinresellsbut wouldn't that be a huge issue with the buyer that bought the item with the listed shipping amount, but then had to pay more after the sale, if the seller adjusts the shipping up higher after??..like a bait and switch??
no, the buyer is charged the amount based on the dimensions when listing. if you adjust at the time of printing the buyer doesn’t pay more or less, the seller either makes a bit more money or loses a bit more
@@justinresells oh ok... i think this is why ebay recently now has the OPT out choice for this related reason?? So only the buyer can save the difference??( your answer was for caculated only and not flat rate correct?)
Does flipwise work with Mercari as well?
We are eBay only currently, David.
I got one thousand free labels from UPS. I’m about a quarter of the way through them and the goal is to finish off the roll in the next year.
How did you get that?!!
@@newworldmom5447I made a ups account and it had them for free on there. I guess it’s a way for them to potentially get business.
Yes how please?
I created an account through UPS and it was an option to get free labels. I did it 8 months ago so not sure if it’s still a thing.
❤❤❤❤
A buyer bought fog lights for a kia for 75$ plus 40$ to ship and returned it claiming they don't work. Should I refund the shipping if this is a buyers remorse claim? Thank you.
The item not working is not buyer’s remorse. Shipping should be refunded too.
@justinresells what if it does work when I sent it out and still works when I receive the return. Thank you
still need to refund shipping. it’s your word against theirs. part of doing business on ebay
@justinresells what if I can take pictures of the lights working? Would that be buyers remorse and a false claim of the buyer saying they don't work? Then would I have o pay out the shipping and refund? I'm trying to get out of paying the shipping if i can. Thank you.
eBay does not accept photos as evidence for anything. Too easy to fake.
It sucks as a new seller you are hard gated at 10 listings !!! It is killing me but it is what it is for now
Your videos are inspiring to me, especially the one you made 82 grand in a year... I mean, even gross, still a lot. Hopefully I can do the same.
Isn't the non tax threshold now at $5,000?
You have to pay taxes on all income!
Why does everyone think that you have an Ifone. I do not and to be quite frank |I'm sick of people saying use this App and That App.
what do you do if like me you were born in the 50's, retired and cannot afford an Ifone. Not everyone has one.
The eBay app works across many devices, not just iPhones. I don't know what sort of budget you're working with, but you can get older used iPhones or Android devices for $50-$100 that will run the eBay app just fine.
Before phones with cameras I used a small digital camera to take photos and uploaded manually. This still works but takes a ton of time. Getting a used iPhone or android and the app will help you and there are a ton of videos on RUclips to help you learn them. My mom is 77 and has learned to use the iPhone 8 I got her.
