    It definitely has forgiveness. When I miss hit it out the toe it comes out dead straight with no spin and gets out there a good distance as well. I definitely think it’s more forgiving then last years version.

    I have a Stealth 2 Plus. It is now gathering dust in my closet. I hit it really far but couldn’t control where the ball goes. I have since reinstated my OG SIM to its rightful place.

    I tried Stealth 1 and saw a gain in distance, i believe it was 6 yds extra on average. 6 yds for £500 here in the UK it just wasnt worth it overall. I continued with my TM sim. Recently tried Stealth 2 plus, was expecting much the same as before. Dispersion was so tight it was almost unbelieveable, but distance saw zero gain over the Sim. I really liked it, the shape, the colour and the finish. Did i like it more than my present driver? Of course but not for an extra £550 😂. I totally agree Matt, the Stealth 2 plus is much better than the first one.

    Great video, Matt! Glad to see someone do the "fargiveness" test with the Stealth 2+ that I actually trust! No offense to Taylormade, of course, but they're not going to come out and say "the driver we just released is crap, don't buy it" even if that was the honest case.

    To echo some of the other comments, it would be great to see the same test with something like the Ping G430, which is considered the most forgiving driver of late, to see just how different it performs in the same test.

      I keep a can of foot spray in my bag when I got to the range..very helpful to see where you are striking it without having to get the old fashioned impact stickers…the foot spray is key because it’s not oily…just a powder…

    Very cool test…thought not sure why they didn’t cover the middle with spray so you could see if/how much of the ball was hitting the middle? That part didn’t make sense to me…but the rest was very helpful.

    I bought a Paradym triple diamond this year. Not only has it given me more yards, its definitely stopped me losing distance on off centre hits. I think a lot of brands have figured this out this year.

    I'm surprised this is the first time you hit the Stealth 2. I've been playing the Stealth 2 Plus for the last four or five months and I have not regretted the purchase. I tried out the original Stealth and, to be honest, wasn't that thrilled with it. It wasn't awful, just not what I thought a 600 dollar club should be.
    I was struggling with the Mavrik so I was looking for a driver and the Stealth 2 was the last on my list. I hit most of the other brands and, like before, they were fine but there wasn't anything that I thought made them worth the outlay of money over the old Mavrik. Then I tried the Stealth2 Plus. I was having a bad swing day, hitting more toe and heel than normal (which is saying a lot) and it had the most consistent flight of any of the clubs. I was punished less by the STealth 2 than any other driver at the time with the exception of the Ping 430 Max. The STealth 2 Plus was not that far off from it and it was about 15 yards farther, even on bad hits.
    So I bought it. I can't say it revolutionized my game but it doesn't destroy me when I'm not hitting the ball particularly well.

  • @68wolffden
    @68wolffden Год назад +1

    I so love my Stealth 2 Plus, I average 270 carry but seem to only lose avg 15 yards on a toe or heal strike. Last year with my Rogue St Max LS same avg carry but bad strikes I saw around 25 yards loss. I don't think the Stealth 2 Plus is getting the overall respect just cause the over hype from the 1st Stealth.

  • @norris_knows4460
    @norris_knows4460 Год назад

    Matts definition of a heel and toe strike at times would be classed as a good strike by your average golfer lol. New drivers are nice and shiny, and the new technology helps with forgiveness a little bit, but the increases year on year are not worth changing for unless you are a very low handicap player or work in the golf industry and can get them for free or a big discount.

  • @Chris-yj1zg
    @Chris-yj1zg Год назад

    Is that dry shampoo your own there Matt 😂
    I found toe strikes to be forgiving with the Stealth 2, but heel strikes were still a bit pot luck as to where it went or distance it carried. But very little difference between my Stealth and Stealth 2 in overall performance and definitely not enough difference to upgrade for the price

    Too bad only 2 stikes counted. The ball had to be completely missing the unsprayed circle. When you only get part of the ball out of the sweet spot its bot going to be that bad. Much like most drivers in the last few years. You are too good a ball striker Matthew!

Fine if you bought new ..you get a replacement but if you bought 2nd hand your screwed taylormade don’t honor the warranty if your not the original owner / bought from official retailer with necessary paperwork etc. Useless when there is a known problem.

    Please take this as constructive feedback, not just a dickhead RUclips commenter doing their thing.
    Testing of a club done in isolation is, (let’s say) iffy, at best. Using a test for a club devised by that clubs manufacturer doesn’t help with the impartiality.
    You’ll naturally adapt to how a club performs over the course of the testing and will produce better shots as a result.
    I’d love to see a golf channel do comparative testing rigorously. Or at least as rigorously as is reasonable.
    By all means, use the Fargiveness test, but do it for 3 or 4 drivers on the same day, alternating between them for each shot.
    That way you’ll take your body’s instinctive adaptation out of the equation and really put the technologies that these companies want us to pay $600 to the test against each other.

    These new clubs feel like swinging a feather at the ground. The club would gaurantee a forgiving face if you've no clue what just took place while swinging it. Not a fan. This club simps a 5'7 pro and novice player alike.
