To all the people who have commented. This is definitely not as “beginner” as the wonderful David Howard Ballet for Beginners. However this is pretty much what I encountered when I attended my first adult beginner ballet class. I had to use all of my powers of “Monkey see, monkey do” and it was very frustrating but I stuck with it. One beginner adult walked out after 15 minutes mumbling anger. Another couple never returned for a second class. I found out that adult beginner class actually meant “you did ballet as a child but then stopped doing it for years but want to start again.” I am going to absolutely LOVE working daily with this video to improve my beginner ballet.

I agree. All of my ballet classes as a beginner have been similar. Ballet is hard. Get your $ worth with classes like this. You’ll be in the best shape of your life. Even professionals brush up on their skills in these classes.

@@girliesweety A beginner needs a much slower explanation of what we are about to do, a slower pace, less variation to remember, no balancing without holding the bar, no working on port de bras while figuring out the footwork... It might be "basic" for an experienced ballerina, but not "beginner."

This is a fabulous class with wonderful commentary , combinations, and accompaniment. It is, however, not a true beginner class. As one who has taught both adult and children beginner classes, I would have lost most of my students in this level class. I look forward to more of these classes but would not recommend for a true beginner

Il love this class!!! Thanks for posting it on RUclips. Even if it is not easy, this is a wonderful beginners class. I only did ballet for 3 years and that was a long time ago but this class is excellent. If you don't get it right the first time (like me), you can always go back and repeat the exercises until you get them better und learn them good. I only repeated the first three exercises at the beginning and then only two and so on. We don't have to look like those young ballerinas, but it's definitely wonderful for our bodies..This is a national ballet and not a ballet class from a ballet school in your town. ❤❤❤❤❤I love short explanations and then the execution. In some classes there is a lot of talking and your feet and body stay cold.

I've been doing all of the Dutch National Ballet Series classes over the last few years. I have enjoyed them all! I enjoyed this class yesterday for the first time too! My legs are slightly crampy/sore today from that class! It is different than what I am used to, much faster paced though the exercises are not hard to remember. It is great to experience different classes with different instructors who have a little different style or method of teaching! It keeps us on our toes! :)

I have been doing the Dutch National Ballet classes online since the start and they are brilliant, by far the best anywhere online. I would question whether this one is really for beginners. Port de bras to side arms 5th on demi-pointe in 2nd?? I'm ex-professional, and that's tough!! Thanks so much for all the videos, please keep them coming, and I'm more than happy to contribute financially.

It's a nice ballet class, but certainly not for begginers. I had to adapt the greatest part os the exercises and that's considering I had ballet classes for 7 years (but I had to stop in 2017). I'll try to repeat it over and over, reducing the video speed or something until I get it back to my 2017 level at least. It's a goal for 2023

Thank you, I appreciate your reply. Totally agree that it should be fun! And as I said: it’s a lovely class. I do think it would be more appropriate to call it something like an Intermediate class. I am a ballet teacher and have been teaching beginners for very many years. Children, teens and adult beginners. To enjoy a class like this you need some concept of core-control, directions, awareness of arms and legs, not to mention co-ordination of these. Full exercises on demi-pointe will cause cramps, bent standing legs, wobbly ankles and terrible posture. Beginners struggle to even understand a basic 5th position!
I LOVE that you are putting out classes/barres like this! I LOVE the exercises, gorgeous dancers and the lovely music! I have already tipped off intermediate students of mine about these classes. I’m only struggling with the misleading title. These are intermediate barres. I see that I am not the only one commenting on this. A beginner barre is nothing like this. It won’t be much fun for a beginner to attempt this. Not that they can’t enjoy watching it! However, I’m not sure that is what the title is referring to.
It is great that you are sharing these barres and I appreciate the time and effort going into this. I thank you very much for that!

LUEGO DE HACER UNAS CUANTAS CLASES QUE DE VERDAD SEAN PARA PRINCIPIANTES.
