Welcome to the newest online ballet class. It is important to stay safe, but also to stay in shape. So here is our first of a new series ballet classes for dancers, which you can join from your living room.
Ernst Meisner, artistic coordinator of the Junior Company, teaches this ballet class. He is accompanied by pianist Paul James Lewis and dancers Elisabeth Tonev and Davi Ramos. Enjoy!

I am very thankful for these classes, and I am very happy that Dutch National Ballet has made more classes. I take the classes over and over again, but I will miss having new classes by Ernst, who is a great teacher. Rex was great too, and it was fun to see that he danced with his hands. U-tube is a great medium for taking ballet classes.
I am delighted to see the wonderful pianist Paul Lewis, who has so many friends here in Chicago who miss his great talents.

It’s pretty common to see a really flexible really strong girl. But to see a male dancer, who has feet like that… And who has an arch in his back like that… It’s just stunning. They both have so much control! A beauty to watch!

I'm a 19 (and soon to be 20) girl from Taiwan. I was formerly a ballerina but stopped dancing 3 years ago. Last October I start to do online classes (including yours ) , they really help me a lot in many aspect!!! Want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the members of Dutch National Ballet (of course for other teachers/dancers/ballet instructors/and others). Hope can continue to see more ballet barre classes and center work combinations in the following days!!!
I'm really enjoying ballet pianist Paul James' more American jazz touches. The way he played that piece (a Piazzolla arrangement?) in the 27:00 exercise was quite magical -- he had a special way of really bringing out the "melting" movement in the fondue -- and this has been in my head for days. A great addition to complement Ernst, Elisabeth, and Davi. A big thanks to you all from Sydney, Australia for now being firmly part of my daily routine, you're a great inspiration to us all around the world!

I haven't done a ballet barre or class in over a year but this morning I got the urge to do one again. Searched up barrés on RUclips and found yours. It was wonderful! Thanks for helping me dance again!

Thank you so much from Canada, Vancouver! Before Covid I attended Bar-studio, now they are closed and offer online classes. I tried once, but their classes are weaker than the ones from Dutch Ballet. All 12 ballet classes with Ernst are in my bookmarks and I do them at home again and again. I like your new pianist- touching music; good quality of recording, almost always camera is on movements and not wondering around on faces; talented young dancers are doing exercises from both sides which is an improvement comparing to first 10 classes when Ernst showed one side, and the second side was just music, I had to stop and move recording back. And still, I got used to it and enjoyed classes anyway. I look forward to new classes. Thank you very much for helping people around the world.

Thank you from California! A few studios I used to go had to close down. This is a blessing. Ernst makes the best well constructed combinations. Perhaps some safe center or floor conditioning after a barre class or separate videos. I would love to continue with this online format.
