He ain't been the same since he lost all that music on his laptop. Eminem had the same thing happened to him, except instead of a laptop it was his lyric books. He had to start over like Ryan the only difference is there wasn't media hoopla over it like in Ryan's case and he continued doing what he was doing vs Ryan who did a 360 and alienated some fans. I'm still a fan tho I could care less. Just saying some artists handle loss differently and as fans we just have to deal with it.
I'm disappointed with Ryan Leslie. I've been following him since his debut in youtube and it was amazing. He really cared for the fans and he was outputting good content... Today is all about these live shows... Money and greed!!! Nowadays he rarely put good content in his channel... Not to say that this new style and rap doesn't really fit him well. To me it is all irrelevant now. Either you go back to your roots making unbelievable R&B and caring for your online fans or you lost a loyal fan
As a human being, YOU personally have to work and earn money to pay for your bills, family and all your outgoing. As an artist, Ryan leslie has to produce good music and entertain the fans. When he does this right, he will GROW. A part of growth is doing live shows. All, if not most artist in the world, are striving to grow and do more shows. So when YOU say "Today is all about these live shows... Money and greed" you need to realise that a part of growth brings more shows and consequently more money, stop being butthurt. It's not 'GREED'. when you do 'overtime' at work is it because of greed? no, it's not. Similar, its not greed if R.L chooses to travel to different parts of the world to please HIS fans!
Question for you. How do you eat? How do you pay bills? Money, right? Now, do you think just making music and "content" & posting it on RUclips will somehow cover bills...while loyal fans comment, say "great job"? Probably not. And music streaming and piracy? Even Less cash. If you're a loyal fan, did you buy an album at least? After iTunes subtracts their share, that's enough cash for a McDonalds burger. Mind you, he's also independent. What he's doing is a smart move on his part - to cover his expenses as well as people that work under him, studio stuff, travel, instruments, etc. That's a lot of money to keep his work alive and afloat. Are you a loyal fan? Or do you want someone to give you some nice FREE music to listen to while you go off to your job so you get MONEY and put food on the table.
