This was such a wonderfully useful review. I was going to buy the Longines Hydroconquest tomorrow, but your review convinced me the Steinhart was a better choice, so I've just purchased the Ocean 39 BLACK Ceramic 103-0981. Thank you from Australia. 🙂

@@wristwatchdave422 Thanks, Dave. Sadly, though, my Steinhart ran 5 hours fast per 24 hours from the moment I received it. I demagnetized it five times, but the issue remained. Steinhart's 'customer support' person was incredibly stubborn about wanting me to return it for repair, and that they'd deduct a fee because I'd removed the plastic wrapping. I told them I wanted it replaced, not repaired, and that penalising a customer for unwrapping their watch before they discovered it was faulty was absurd. Their return process was also extremely complex and onerous, so after a week of trying to get them to be more reasonable (and failing in that attempt), I've sent it to a local watchmaker for assessment. After this episode, I cannot recommend Steinhart, and will instead be buying a Davosa or Longines. 😞

Thanks for the review been helpful. I just started my diver collection. I have the Longines, Glycine, Certina, and I got he Orient Kamasu. I have bought each when there was a good sale and couldn't pass on the pricep. The Longines Hydroconquest was twice the cost, or more than all the others, but best value I love it. I plan on buying the Oris Aquis, Edox Skydiver, Mido Ocean 600m, and Hamilton Khaki Sub with upgraded bezel. Thanks for the video it really helped me decide which Divers to buy.

In my opinion the Ward or the Hydroconquest are the best value for $ in the group. The Steinhart is also a great value if you like homage watches. I get my Combat Sub tomorrow from the post. Christopher Ward 100%. Anyone who hasn't been sensible enough to at least order one and (carefully) try it in should NOT be commenting on quality (looks etc sure, that's subjective). Because then you will know. And if you don't like it, you have 60 days to return it as long as you haven't worn/damaged it. So, no brainer innit?

Not enough layers of superluminova, stiff bezel... I bought Chinese brand San Martin and Ironwatch and I wouldcrecomend those over Steinhart anytime... better build quality, better lume... I never tought I will say that about Chinese watches. Once more, Longines is the one for me but that Christopher Ward is stuning. Cheers

Yes, I am from the UK but that has nothing to do with the scores. I would score exactly the same if C Ward was a Swiss brand. The brand nationality is totally irrelevant. It seems that you are trying to suggest that I favoured C Ward because it is a British brand. If so, you are very much mistaken. This is not an international competition - it's just an honest comparison of a few watches that I have reviewed. I own all the watches featured and speak from experience. The build quality of the C Ward, in my opinion is slightly better than the Oris & Longines. Why is that so hard to believe? I'm sure if you handled all three you would agree. Thanks for watching. 👍
