Ps2 was the best gaming era in my opinion. Best madden games (2002-2005), MVP baseball, Tony hawk 3,4,Underground. The GTA trilogy. Metal gear solid 2 and 3, SOCOM, the countless indi games. Hundreds of gems that I’ll forget to mention

Tekken Tag 1, Tekken 4, Tekken 5, Def Jam Fight For NY, Max Payne 1 & 2, God Of War, NFL Street 2, NBA Street 1 & 2, Smackdown Here Comes The Pain, Smackdown Shut Your Mouth, Smackdown vs Raw, Madden games, NBA Live games, & more. Yes the PS2, GameCube, OG XBOX, Dreamcast era was definitely the best in gaming. Hands down. Sure we have better graphics and power, but in terms of fun, charm, replay value, & most of all ACTUAL COMPLETED GAMES....NO DLC....yes PS2 era is the best in gaming.
I think Madden 2002-08 were solid. You also can’t forget the NFL 2K series (2K2-2K5 on PS2).

The physics in todays games make no sense. Catch a player from behind going down the sideline and he falls backwards.
Wow the music between plays, sideline reporting after the first drive, John madden himself making note of the stretching…. This is incredible. In 2002 windows xp was popular

Playing with the Rams on Madden 03 was like having unlimited ammo. Marshall Faulk covered the run game, Issac Bruce was the possession receiver, Torry Holt was the deep threat/big play receiver, and Kurt Warner had good accuracy. Fun times.
That line was amazing as well
I used to create a player and do my own career mode changing teams to whoever signed him. Then when he retired I would hire him as a head coach and play the game CPU vs CPU and only call the plays. Good times. I was like 14 lol

In Madden 22 I had a guy hit stick tackle me with Mahomes after I returned his INT for about 30 yards. Mahomes celebrated the hit stick tackle.

This was the yr of significant graphical upgrades. You can see a huge difference from 02-03

One of the ads I got watching this gameplay was an ad for the new Apple Vision Pro. I was so bored, watching the commercial that I couldn’t wait till a video game from 2003 came back on😂. Simpler times.

Ya what the F happened. I hold a madden tourney every year and alll my friends and I despise the soundtrack for the last handful of years. In the PS2 era I was hyped to just learn the soundtrack to the game

MADDEN NFL 2003
This game is what I consider to be the last Hard Madden ever made, the playbooks year over year are so different post this game, the ratings system is so strict too, look how bad the teams are, look how slow so many skill position players and defensive backs are, so many players were rated below 60 overall, if you lost any starter, even a player over 60 overall, you FELT IT! WR's struggled to catch, lots of running backs would either fumble or not have get away speed, TE's were more useful for blocking than catching. A completely different time.
Yet, this was the best game at 1 thing, preseason, no game before or after did it justice. This is the only madden that i can remember, where there were preseason rating adjustments when it was done, without position battles (2005 onwards on PS2), or other annoying features like auto subs in the 2nd half, if you wanted to play your backups and lower overall players all game, you could do it! Save your starters and vets because you could risk them getting worse to start the season or be more injury prone! But if you play your backups/rookies, they get WILDLY good FAST! Maddens today could give a crap about preseason, and like I said, Maddens afterwards would include annoying features during preseason that forced you to pay attention to who you wanted to start come regular season. 2003? Just play the rookies and don't worry about it, your starters will still be starters by regular season.
Makes me wish modders could mod this game with today's rosters with accurate ratings just like this game (instead of overrating every WR to have 99 speed...).

I just got the game a week ago. Love it. Have madden 2003-2011 and the ncca football 2003-2011. Hard to best those old ps2 sports games when it comes to depth and realism.
Also 2003 was last madden u could create a coach and keep track of his career stats.
Makein me wanna get a ps2 again just to play some good madden it’s shame
This game is still better than Madden 24, and more than likely will be better than Madden 25.
