Sadly, this would be the final time we'd have the legendary team of John Madden & Pat Summerall on commentary in a video game. It's pretty simplistic by today's standards, and even back then the commentary in the 2K games was more fluid and seemingly more aware of what was happening in the game--but I don't mind all that; it's great to hear Pat and John.

‘01 was groundbreaking because it was the first time we had player models that size before, instant replay, and detail. It was the first football on PS2 console . ‘02 was way more polished version, added new animations, and they improved the player models and sizes of each position. ‘01 everyone was huge
