I tried to put it into logical context as much as possible - While I:R looks like an EU4-style board game, its mechanics simply make sense if you consider the real world implications of ... one civilisation utterly crushing another one. What was your position towards the various cultures you conquered in your Massalia run? Did you enslave any Gallic culture entirely? Did you integrate any? Did you take a middle ground of colonization but not slave demotion? What is the best policy for assimilating pops to your primary culture?
Has this tutorial series been abandoned? was really enjoying watching these. was so pleased to find a tutorial series with such a clear way of explaining how the mechanics in the game work, then found out it stops at 2 :(
New tutorial part when? These have been great (vital!) for me to grasp this game and it's concepts. I've played all other Paradox games in their strategy series but this one still seems somewhat arcane to me (als the ingame tutorial is literally the worst).

Assuming most new players will start with Rome, there's a lot of stuff that's simply too arcane to infer on the first playthrough (senate support stumped me hard the first time). You did a great job of explaining the reasoning/rationale behind the pop mechanics. I have played ~100 hours of Imperator, but I'm currently playing a Carthage campaign where I'm trying to understand every little mechanic. This was very helpful. Honestly, the more I learn about the mechanics of Imperator, the more impressed I am.
This is probably the best video on Imperator Rome on RUclips. Thank you very much for this high quality and in depth work. It brings to the surface some of the mechanics of the game that enables the types of experiences that this great game can give to players, thanks again!
I am excited for this series on Imperator: Rome Mechanics. I don't own the game myself, so this is a great way for me to explore the game without having access to it.
The answer is yesn't. Please forgive me for going into details a bit here, but ... Essentially, over time I have grown to no longer favour let's plays. The reason for this boils down to the process of LPs no longer really giving me what I want out of content creation. When it comes to script-writing and choosing video topics I have a considerably larger amount of creative activity and freedom than when going through with a playthrough that has many of its milestone goals and end goals set in stone already. This is not an indictment of Let's Plays at all, please don't misunderstand me! However, for me personally they just didn't feel as satisfying as I would like them to be, regardless of what game. Now, this does not mean Let's Plays are off the table. Rather, it means that I would like to produce a high effort series going forward as far as gameplay is concerned. I am not sure about the timing of this yet, but if you - or anybody reading this - have seen the "Messalian Glory" series, you will know that that series is vastly different from anything I have done before it or since. It really utilised CK2/HIP as a storytelling tool with many scripted events rather than as a game in itself. This takes much more time, but feels much more satisfying to me in the end. Something like this - when I get down to the details of this project - is likely for vanilla CK3, I:R and especially CK3 once my most beloved TC mods from CK2 come out for it (mostly Elder Kings 2 and After The End). Other than that, pure gameplay, is something I really only want for streams. There's a different process behind streams compared to let's plays that is exciting since I have explored it so little. I understand if you were hoping for classic Let's Plays and are disappointed. My apologies! I hope that you can at least see the angle I have, still. Cheers!

As Rome I tried setting everything other than Roman to slave, but there is a cost involved with changing status, which is a bit annoying, especially when it comes to dozens of very small groups, that cost just as much as the giant Punic one. Besides that, I don't mind the rebellions, the more of those pops die the better. Yes, this game really brings the best of me to the surface.
Hi, i'm new on the channel, bought the game in the last sale and saw your new guides about the awesome 2.0 update, they're great. I was still playing the tutorial after beating the tutorial objectives so i could learn more and i conquered the entirety of italy with rome but i'm having problems with the Alpine provinces because they are disloyal, I was waiting for the info in this video, i'm going to put it to good use now, can't wait for the next guide, cheers

I tend to just assimilate everyone through culture. Enslave, convert, one culture. There shall only be one culture. It's painful but when each of your regions provide hundreds of pops for legions, I know I made the right decision. Now excuse me, I have a never ending war with Rome to take care of.

This is why I have trouble getting into Imperator, after having thousands of hours in EU4. There is just so much micro-management and it becomes a bit of a headache.
So if i get this right, what I need to do inorder to make my newly conquered population intergrate into my own culture is to not give them more rights but rather only make them freeman or even slaves. And that will over the time make intergrate into my own culture or civilization?

This game gets way to annoying when you grow too much. Even if you do all this things it doesn't warranty that the pops will be happy and it's not a crystal clear process. Between imports, migration, etc., It gets annoying. You end up spending more time caring for your pops than actually expanding.
I stopped doing I:R content because I'm salty every time I think about them dropping it. It makes me not want to play the game. JP, you have been on this channel for quite some time. If you think in such a bitter way about me despite that, I must admit that I am both sad and glad to see you leave the community. Goodbye!

I am just saying it is your right and I agree is logical you don't do waste time and resources anymore to do content on a game not even Paradox is willing to believe in. Why should you do something if even the creators are not willing to make the effort?
Why would you stop playing a game just because development has stopped? I started gaming in the 90’s. Back then a game was completed, shipped and if it sold well maybe got an expansion pack. That’s it. The developers moved on to the next project. These long term development projects like EU4 are a relatively new thing and I’m not convinced it adds much extra value for the consumer.
