    What i really don't like about hoi4 is how rarely the game gets updated outside of DLC releases. There is a lot of quality of life patches, or patches in general that could really smooth out the general experience of the game, and yet any major changes are usually released alongside DLCs, which means we get updates once a year at most, which is not optimal

    • @Thedefenses
      @Thedefenses 20 дней назад +52

      We do get a lot more updates these days due to the "War Effort" patches Paradox has started doing, could we get more, absolutely but it has gotten a lot better.
      For major things, the teams are making the DLC and the features at the same time so it makes sense to release them in one big package, as that also lets them often tie these updated systems to the focus tree´s under work instead of informing the DLC team latter on "hey, the new system is ready, you want to try and use it" in the middle of development.

Similar to the expansion focuses other dominions have for remaining in the British Empire - New Zealand getting the British Pacific colonies to form Polynesia, Australia getting British Malaya, and South Africa getting British African colonies up to Tanzania. It would be nice for this to happen for a loyalist Raj path which can get Kuwait, British Arabian territories, Ceylon, the Maldives, and other British holdings in the Indian Ocean.

    I'll add a burning question for me: why do the Soviets no longer attack Poland in September 1939, as they did historically? I remember that in earlier versions of the game they did it (or it's just my impression) but it always ended in a war between the Soviets and the Allies already in 1939. Probably this is the reason why they don't do it.... but it looks pathetic that in a game about WW2, the literal event that starts WW2 is misrepresented. If this is the case, the game mechanics should be designed from the beginning to make it work.

    • @ekothesilent9456
      @ekothesilent9456 20 дней назад +1

      It depends on the level of progress Germany is making in Poland. If they haven’t pushed into west Poland by sept 1939 than Russia will give Poland an ultimatum, and if Poland refuses this + has slowed Germany down sufficiently than Russia will invade.

    • @P0PG03S
      @P0PG03S 20 дней назад +12

      @@ekothesilent9456 Unfortunately that is not how it works. There's no Poland-specific script for Soviets. I believe they just start justifying for their claims as soon as they have enough political power / world tension / whatever. It's done much earlier than "Demand The East" focus anyways.

    Not exactly a myth but for a long time after it was added as a victory point, the harbour town of Oban in the Scottish highlands had its localisation incorrectly given to a province in the Soviet Union. This was eventually patched.
    I am still upset that Waterford City is not a victory point in Ireland. Give the home of the blaa some respect.
    There are still hidden victory points in some countries such as Mexico and Germany. These can be seen in game when building railways.
    I’m not sure if this was patched by the Finnish/Sami victory point of Inari could theoretically become the largest victory point in the world.

      I'm sorry but I need more info, by not working correctly what do you mean? The trait works from what I tested, what the PG uses now is a worse version of it. So I don't see how that's meant to be balance the cw in their favor, if anything that makes it harder.
      And I still lost on how it managed to find it's way into the game, just slipped through the cracks?

    i don't know if there's a confirmation already about this somewhere but i really want to know the exact reason why foreign coup/political civil war works differently from event civil war (like spanish civil war), like why does coup/political civil wars basically spawn a new releasable nation that declares war normally (which makes them able to join faction and gets pulled into a major nation war forcing you into a forever war) while event civil war don't. this is most apparent for countries like Dutch East Indies where to get your independence in a reasonable amount of time requires you to do a political civil war, in which if you do it too early or too late you will have the civil war become a full blown war where you either have to invade the dutch or worse yet where you have to invade the allies or japan to end the civil war.
    TBH my best guess is that the event civil war actually works as a bunch of events, priority, and triggers rather than a standard war and because of that the unscripted coup and political civil wars ends up just as a normal war because the dev haven't gotten around to actually set up each one/make a procedural algorithm to actually set up civil war events for every country. though this is pure speculation rather than any actual informed guess

Although Afghanistan is Sunni it is in the sphere of inlfuence of Shia Iran. Otherwise, they could just exponentially expand, immediately coring all of the nations they invade and gaining all the benefits. For example, if a player wins the civil war as them by 1937 or so, they could just immediately invade france as the french are not prepared for conflict, then Italy, Germany, and so on. They just snowball very hard if they core faster.

    I have yet another question.
    Why is Dmowski a Fascist, and why is He a playable character in late 1930s ? He was never a fascist irl, and openly disliked this ssistem, He should be a democratic conservative bruh.
    Plus by 1940 He was also a little, You know, dead. He had literally died in january of 1939, and by 1938 was a severly ill and eldery man that could barely stand, Bro's not gonna lead Poland in. Axis in 1940 💀

    The biggest problem with Egypt (or rather UK) I have is that Egypt can't even be released normally anymore. The UK has to go the communist path to release Egypt, if they go for any other route, Egypt (as well as every other British colony) can't be released without mods. Yes, you need mods like State Transfer Tool to "release" the UK colonies manually.

    • @BubblesZest
      @BubblesZest  20 дней назад +8

      This is just not true, I released myself normally to get the footage I used in this.

    • @donaldgrape7667

      @@BubblesZest Nope. Actually, you don't have to be communist, you can stay democratic, but you have to do the "decolonization" branch in order to release anything. If you don't, the buttons to release countries are grayed out.

    In RT56 Egypt is a starting nation, has its own unique focus tree, and has an Anglo-Egyptian conference mechanic that can have egypt go in like 8 different directions, via to the benefit of egypt or britain in one way or another

    Things shouldnt be buffed/nerfed because theyre "unbalanced" hoi4 should be a historical game and history wouldnt sabotage itself so it can be "balanced"

    • @BubblesZest
      @BubblesZest  20 дней назад +6

      There's a certain irony about this, considering we're talking about a a-historical tree. By that logic we should remove it entirely XD.

      HOI 4 is a historical GAME, its still a game at the end of the day and balance does go into how fun a game is, thus its needed.
      Also, for many buffs that are taken from real life, how good or not is VERY up to debate.
      A tactic that worked in real life decently, is it worth 1,2,5 % attack, maybe not attack but breakthrough, how about special forces, many countries had them, who gets the best, just giving it to the biggest one is not really fair as sure, they probably had the most of them but the best?
