Im so glad I found your channel. I never knew people made rom hacks or fan games for jak and daxter. Please make some youtube playlists for rom hacks!
They aren't technically rom hacks. They're mods for the fan made PC port of Jak and Dexter called OpenGoal. Basically fans managed to reverse engineer the programming language, Goal, that the original trilogy was coded in, and have been working on using the decompiled games to create Windows ports. The first game has been done for a while now and has an active modding scene, and Jak 2 just became playable recently
I've heard of you from speedrunning, but I just now realized that you stream and put out RUclips videos of the streams. Love the content man, Jak and Daxter was the first game I had for my PS2 and I love the series. This challenge would drive me insane

Jax and Daxter: Easter Egg Edition
Hey Josh! I started playing this mod thanks to you! I do have a question. I don't watch speedruns or anything, idk all the techniques. I was able to complete geyser except one orb, the one above the Warp gate in the bowl. How exactly do you pull off that mega jump you do? I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks for the content!!
Hiya! It’s a bit tricky, but you crouch uppercut next to the portal (L1/R1 + Square) and quickly press Circle once to use the portal. Once you get Jak high in the air, press Triangle to exit the portal menu, and then Triangle again to zoom in while in the air, this should stop you from falling. (Note that its a very quick double tap triangle)
When you’re ready, unzoom with triangle and then jump on over to the orb :)

Still watching, but I just wanted to say that getting the Race the Shark To the Powercell in Misty is 100% possible without the zoomer. I did it first try (not to flex😂) I didn't know it was actually intended to be a zoomer cell

Hey, I'm curious what buttons you're pressing to do that ground dive/high jump you're doing? I downloaded this mod but a lot of the orbs are just out of reach with a regular high jump and I can't seem to replicate your moves!
it's X then square, but as you're diving, hold X :)
Jak and Daxter TPL, but the orbs are placed like Jak 3
Hey! My brother and I are having trouble with the distance boosted uppercut Scout fly in jungle. We get more height out of boosteds than distance. Any tips on how we can get more distance out of our boosteds? Thanks!
So it sounds like you've been getting what's called an Extended Uppercut instead of a Boosted Uppercut! To get a boosted uppercut, make sure you're slow walking off of a ledge, and as jak starts to fall, input the uppercut! Note that you should physically see jak walk off of the ledge before inputting the uppercut :)

Jak and Daxter The Easter Egg Hunt
Without me reading too much into it, can anyone here clarify what exactly you need to run these mods? I know you need to download openGOAL from what I saw and do you just need an iso and emulator to run the game? I absolutely want to try this one and random cell order myself

I watched most of this on stream but watching on ur losing the ability to help with chat is killing me rn
Why don't you play the game on wide-screen, Josh? It would help in situations like this run.
I think 16:9 actually crops out some of the top/bottom of the screen, so might be a disadvantage at other times
@@barg034 but in openGOAL changing the resolution makes it true wide-screen iirc
