But I really appreciate and think it is super neat how you explain what the mission or goal is of the game skip, who has attempted it, how the communities react to the results, how you go into the history and accomplishments of the person who discover the skip, and I really enjoy how you add a suspense factor that just keeps me tuned in the whole time. Thanks for awesome videos man! :D

Speedrunning is psychologically a very insular community. This is why it can be so toxic when someone goes against the grain (see: Narcissa Wright for example), but also very wholesome and supportive with its own in-group. A new perspective, fresh and outside the box, is often needed.
      TL;DR: speedrunning communities are a bubble/circlejerk.

It’s really gratifying to me that these skips are actually possible because as a kid I threw Jak into the lava of fire canyon dozens of times trying to cheese my way with some sort of completely theoretical infinite damage boost, and for the skip to be exactly that is amazing to me. I correctly theorized an actual speedrun skip as an 8 year old. I also tried to find the other skips mentioned, though I was as unsuccessful as the majority of the community in those cases too.

Great to see your videos are doing so good. I haven't watched your channel or streams in a quite a while so I don't know how things have been since. This video was so pleasant to watch, the script is really good and the editing golden.

Surprise.MP4 is to Jak 1 as Silence's 32:47 was to RaC 3. Insane that a MP4 literally warped Jak 1 so hard that its 10's of minutes faster now

So that "idle deload" glitch/exploit is one of the few times wasting time doing nothing is actually beneficial to a speedrun...never thought I'd see that.

This is honestly amazing, Jak and Daxter was pretty much the only game my brother and played. I am being 100% honest, my bro was able to skip fire cannon in 2006 - 2008, I was pretty young at the time so i don't remember much about it, but I remember he got through it with the infinite jump thing, and you had to enter through the jungle. We weren't speed runners we were just playing for fun and probably have thousands of hours on the ps2. Anyway that was my story, and I guess sorry for not showing the skip sooner lol? I didnt even know people did jak and daxter speed runs until today when I watched this video. Pretty cool stuff and thanks for the video
