    This girl is not a mezzosoprano! She can have a lovely soprano voice.

      Perhaps when she's ready she will change, however the soprano tessitura may be uncomfortable for her. Her speaking voice is kind of low. Vocalizing and see where chest and head meet I'm the bottom would dictate whether she's a soprano or mezzo.

    What on earth will shaking the singers mid-section do, when the voice is completely un-coordinated and full of tensions?

      my singing teacher used to do this too. It s about learning to release your lower body tension and it really helps a lot. This girl is pushing a lot and she sound flat, Joyce is clearly right to use this trick.

      @@celibidache1000 it s difficult to get it right the first few times, but the point Joyce is making is a really good one. It s totally ok to sound worse before you start to sound better.
