Sung by a mezzo or Tommaso Consoli-- this aria takes balls (even if they are figurative). She does have a dark voice-- all the more reason not to "darken" it. It takes a toll. Excellent performer--
Very good. Magdalena Kozena does a version too, though hers is much faster. I think I would like Larmore's voice, but at Kozena's tempo.
