Darth Jar Jar may have been the single greatest Sith Lord. He not only fooled some of the greatest jedi to ever live, he went years undetected by Sidious. He could single handedly take out entire tanks and regiments with his bare hands. Darth Jar Jar set the republic back years with his "accidental" mistakes.

The so-called Rule of Two is hilarious, considering virtually every apprentice secretly has an apprentice themselves, which means there are three active Sith, on average.

    • @alextrill1746
      @alextrill1746 Год назад +17

That's kinda the point, I feel. Sith crave power, and power does not bend to some rules. So an apprentice who faithfully adheres to the Rule of Two is weak and far from being ready to challenge his master, and every master seeks to become so powerful and immortal, they would not need fear multiple apprentices and could break the Rule of Two.
The Rule specifically exists to be broken as a proof of power.

In Naga Sadow’s defense there was no guarantee the golden age would have survived beyond Marka Ragnos. Every time the dark lord died there was a civil war within the empire and they grew weaker. It’s very likely that Naga Sadow inherited the strongest possible version of the Sith empire. That being said he should have realized that if he had to make illusions to over double his numbers that the Sith were not ready for war.

It was so obvious that Kun would never allow Nadd to regain flesh again as that would make him a rival. I would say Savage oppress was far from intelligent but I would argue that he was surprisingly wise. By my understanding wisdom is working within your means where as intelligence would extend it. Savage understood his limitations and strengths better than the majority. Rather than try to be something he wasn't he played his role very well given the time allotted to his training. I believe that if Dooku, however intelligent he may be, had been wiser he could have molded Savage into the best form of what he was rather than try to make him into something he was not. You're correct, savage is a brick but I think to understand that and accept it as he did takes a heathy measure of wisdom. I love your videos and normally don't comment because I agree or am learning more often than not, thank you for your time.

Seeing savage oppress being mutated into a stronger warrior always had me wondering what would have happened if Palpatine made Allie’s out of the night sisters instead of kidnapping maul. Had he chosen his apprentice in maul, trained him to be a sith and had mother Talzin put him through this ritual to mutate him, there would have been quite a devastating dark sider. Not only that, but had he favored maul as a true rule of 2 sith, the night sisters could have then incorporated their magic with palpatine’s sith knowledge to craft a fighting force that’d give sidious hard hitting agents of the darkside he could build over time during the clone wars till order 66 happens, and then he’d bring them in as his inquisitors in his new empire. Pretty sure Mother Talzin would also be hard at work with her powerful ally. Sith knowledge combined with her magic could also influence and enhance night sister rituals further than before. Even though their not slaves to the dark side as they see sith, more knowledge on how to use the dark side is still welcome. You could argue that mother Talzin, Maul and sidious could be a new sith triumvirate like sion, nihlus and treya before them, not trying to wipe out the force but strengthen the darkness.

My only problem with this video is calling Savage a dark lord of the sith. As far as I can remember the only people who call him a sith lord is the Jedi. Jedi don't decide who is a sith lord. At most he is a sith apprentice not a full sith lord.

I know that by terms of ability he was one of the greats and could have been the greatest, but Vader was a melon. He let himself be manipulated by Sidious all his life and ended up losing everything he held dear. He also lost a significant portion of his potential losing to an obviously inferior opponent due to arrogance and overconfidence. Vader lost his wife, and his best friend, then he could have had the entire galaxy, fucked up that too, and became a cripple kept alive by a life support suit. That would qualify anyone a dumb Sith in my book.
Another fool would by Sion, living in constant agonizing pain, having suffered injuries no man could or should survive and straight up refusing to die because there might still be Jedi in the galaxy he hadn't killed yet. His was a pointless existence fueled by hatred and murderous intent. I would also add Nihilus here, but I don't think he had much of a choice anymore. He was more of an avatar of darkness and the absence of life, not a person with the power of choice.

As much as I love how cool, calm and calculated Sidious is, what he did to his master was one of the biggest mistakes of the Sith, and it was due to the arrogance that near all Sith hold. He killed Darth Pleigus, completely destroying the Sith who HAD THE FORCE ON THE RUN because of his experiments on life and death (WHICH MADE THE FORCE RESPOND BY CREATING ANAKIN), had just about had control of it, and was going to use it to make the Sith Empire immortal, but the arrogance of Palpatine made him think that if he were in charge, his plans would be better than BEING IMMORTAL. The hubris of the Sith is, and always will be their downfall. It didn’t allow them to see how the Sith of the old were stronger and just made them assume what they were doing at that time was the best the Dark Side had to offer. The Sith ideology in general is dumb and immoral.

evil is stupid , self destructive, always doom itself . Sidious achieved the Great Plan , he was going to win by running both sides of a civil war, no matter which side won , and he would have ruled with mandate either as Supreme Chancellor or supplanted Dooku as the new leader of the Condeferacy - and after he won he decided to celebrate by tearing it down and oppress the galaxy purely for cruelty sake - and decided to waste money on a Death Star - Twice.

With all that power and he just sat in his chair and lost time and time again until he let himself get yeeted down a shaft and then later get beat completely by someone with barely any training. Either Sidious wasn’t the most powerful sith of all time or he deserves the #1 spot on this list. Or both.

What if Naga Sidou(?) had been given a vision of how the order would rise from its ashes and become the Bane of the galaxy with fewer sith but he never wrote about or made a holocron to pass on this knowledge. Making himself look like a fool when he was in fact setting up the order to one day take complete control. Something he would never see himself, and if the order stayed as is, would never come to fruition...

Idk Savage Opress was far from dying if he went solo.... he iterally went throught the heart of the galaxy to the outter rim while absolutely decimating anyone or thing that attempted to slow his progress. He was able to last longer solo with Sidious than Maul. If he had correct training we all know he would have been quite a force. Dude was a apprentice for 2 weeks and beat or stalemated jedi even Obi was pushed back. dude was stopping spaceships with the force in one month of solo living no more dooku training and had not found Maul yet lol. Due to Maul being so regular in comparison to Count Dooku, the training was no existent. We saw the episode where Maul says I will teach you. But as we watched nothing changed at all, he still had the same force power and his melee skills have always been above average thanks to his upcoming. He was sent to find his brother where no one else could or even sense him. He was able to make jedi recognize they needed help if they saw him plain and simple unless a jedi Master. Despite him deleting a jedi master...
Id put Opress in top 10 Sith apprentice and top 20 sith lords. But the dumbest sith for Opress is kinda contradictory since he wasnt trained to be a sith upon leaving Dooku. So he either cant be on the list and if he is can anyone name someone Opress's age begin training and within less than a month able to drop a jedi master without even having his lightsaber yet..... He was able to stand firm with arguably the galaxies most trained jedi and drop quite a few on the way to only being defeated by literally Darth Sidious the strongest sith in all of Star Wars history arguably if you dont want to debate the Darth Nihilus or Freedon Nadd stuff lol. But for a 1month padawon able to beat Obi one and almost delete both obi and Annakin on their first meeting which was him with a couple of weeks training. Now estimate his ability if he had the same time trained as every sith lord mentioned in the video? If not for force lightning dooku was fvcked because he couldnt combat his raw strength at alllll lol

I disagree with the idea that the rule of two is better than having the dark side army.
Take the Old Republic era. I do understand what you mean when you said that everyone was tired of war and it was stale me. But, the only reason why Sidius was effective in his rule of two was because no one knew that Sidious was the Sith Master.
That was the only reason why he got away with what he did. But let's say that the Jedi knew he was the Sith Master back when he was nothing but a senator for Me Naboo. The Jedi would just kill him then. And if they knew that Dooku was his apprentice, they would have killed him too. Done. Two. Just two that you need to kill and it's over.
The rule of two only worked for Sidious, because no one knew that they existed. This allowed Sidius to initiate order 66 and wipe out the Jedi. But we're not talking about specific events, but rather the rule of two in general to be effective in any environment.
I'm referring to the concept of the rule of two to operate when the Jedi are many, or when the Jedi a few, or when the identity of the master and apprentice is known, or when they are not, etc. When were discussing the rule of two as a rule in general, we wanted design or create a system that is effective in all environments. The rule of two only really works when the identity is hidden and the Jedi could be wiped out so that if they're identity is exposed, they're not strong enough to do anything about it anyway.
Just two people vs many? Sorry, but sooner or later numbers is going to win. It's always going to be that way. The only, only reason why sidious was successful is because the Jedi were so arrogant to believe that the sith were gome and they weren't even looking for them.
During the Old Republic era, the teachings of the Sith, the dark side, the Sith numbers, the sith influence, their culture, their discovery in the secrets of the dark side, all of this and more flourished.
They had an entire planet unto themselves and more. And the Jedi Republic couldn't outright defeat them because they were two large in numbers.
But the rule of two, if you know who those two are, they're done; two cannot stand against an army.
