This was a treasure of a hit in the 1980s! Way better than the music today! Love this song! ❤

The wall of sound at the beginning and throughout the song reminds me of I’m Not In Love by 10CC

On this day in 1982 {July 3rd} Franke and the Knockouts performed "Without You (Not Another Lonely Night)" on the above episode of the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'...
At the time the song was at position #75 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, three weeks earlier it had peaked at #24 {for 2 weeks} and it spent fifteen weeks on the Top 100...
It reached #45 on the Canadian RPM Singles chart...
The New Jersey group had two other Top 100 records, "Sweetheart" {peaked at #10 for 2 weeks in May of 1981} and "You're My Girl" {reached #27 for 2 weeks in August of 1981}...
In 1987 group leader Franke Previte won the Academy Award for 'Best Song' as co-composer of "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from the movie 'Dirty Dancing'...
Franke Jon Previte celebrated his 73rd birthday two months ago on May 2nd, 2019...

I love their music but I don't know why he's putting so much emotion into a song that he's not singing.. I prefer live music.. not a track.
