Yeah man, i was thinging the same, and when the bullet was out, he handle the blind projectil careless. The bolt dented the firing cap a little bit, all the explosive in the cap is compressed. Just a little hit like, drop down de bullet to the ground, right over a little stone......a this cartige can shoot.

I was thinking the same thing. I had a heart palpitation when he slammed the bottom of that compromised bullet flat against the wood plank.
The armour piercing incendiary is most likely a military surplus bullet...so I'm guessing it has a harder primer?
Shotgun might not have enough umph to set it off.

We had an old Ithaca 12 gauge double that we picked up at the gunshow in the mid 80's for $40. We took turns firing at old junk cars firing both triggers with magnum slugs. That was a hell of a kick and the barrels often separated at the action. We were able to put it back together each time and fire some more. Years later, I took the shotgun to a competent gunsmith, he fixed the hinge for $20, gave the gun a clean bill of health and I put it back in my safe. I just sold the gun about a month ago for $650

my shoulder would never hurt shooting trap I just always left with a bruised cheek due to how i held my head
me to you just need to get used to it and you will be fine.
When firing a shot gun, you have to really snug it up against the shoulder to prevent injury, but I'm sure they know that.

on a farm in the UK i found out the hard way, shooting clays. I don't exactly use guns every day and instruction was minimal...
@@thetexastickler5698 Just making the point that it's not enough to hold the shot gun loosie-goosie style so as to just have it lightly contacting the shoulder, you have to be forcefully pulling it in towards the shoulder so as to eliminate any free play whatsoever before pulling the trigger. This is something that the average Joe probably doesn't know.
@@Darren51283 yep, good tips. If you can pull it tighter, then it's going to hurt to fire. If you have that seated solid, it has no room to hit you; instead, it moves you.

You should get a cheap thermal camera to find the round afterwards a bit easier. It should be hot enough to show up on the ground even in the summer.

I would like to see someone put in a barrel insert and I shotgun that would shrink the diameter of the barrel so the 50bmg would fire like it's supposed to and not lose all its power
Ya or even just a sabot to gas seal around the bullet. Could even drill out a fosters slug then solder it to the bullet.

To be honest at 0:50 when they shoot melom on top of a concrete barrier you have a high chance of ricochet even though its "only" birdshoot. Was shown good enough with watermelon going back at him.

That shotgun turned out to be safer than the rn50 for the 50bmg lol
Tbh I don't see how this couldn't be safe... The bullet is far too small for this size of barrel, so there's plenty of space for gasses to escape.
The only actual pressure gets built inside the casing of the round.
Its a safe gun but kentucky ballistics fired slap rounds with a muzzle brake on it causing a barrel obstruction.

If you wrap 1 layer electirical tape around neck, and base of the shell. It will fit more snugly in the 12 guage barrel.
