Who on earth thumbs downs this? You’d thumbs down Birthday Cake...sunshine...puppies...children laughing. If you thumbs downed this you honestly need professional help. You don’t deserve opposable thumbs if you thumbs downed this...the guy has fun no matter what. I love it, thanks Shaun!!
I'm 47and went really big and won lots of tournaments when I was younger. Do what he did, shorten rope for wake to wKe jumps. A good and impressive trick for you would be start of switch, jump wake and do a blind handle pass 180. You can learn it in flats, he did it in video, then one wake then two wakes. Have fun. I was hear to inspire myself.... I'm still better than my teenage kids.
I love watching stuff like this. Makes us amatures feel like we can relax a little bit and have fun it's not always about hitting a big jump. Great video
Love this! Looks like so much fun! I have been sking/kneeboarding/windsurfing most my life, but at age 39 with 4 kids, we finally picked up a wakeboard. I don't imagine ever doing 1080s wake to wake (maybe the kids) but this looks like tons of fun just cruising around on the flat water. Thanks for sharing.
Great shoot, I'm 62 and wakeboarding, surface tricks are a great safe ride for me !!! I live in WI so this gives me inspiration when we start up in spring
I love this! Sean, we share the love of skimming, carving, cutting, jumping and more across the water, whether it be on a wakeboard, ski, skis, barefoot or more! How blessed we are to have had these opportunities. Keep up the good work illustrating the fun of towed watersports, with all your helpful tips for beginners through advanced.
I really enjoy watching your vids. I'm 56 years old and will be buying my first wake board and can't wait to get in the water this spring. There is 12 inches of snow on the ground right now!!!
Screw that it's a progressive sport. I put the bindings away and just wake skate and barefoot. Diminishing skills at least for me are disappointing, and as of late have become painful. Nothing quite like hoochie glides to disaster lol
A true ambassador from the sport I love most in the world! Showing everyone that its not ALL about how big you can go...but sometimes you should just enjoy the ride...Peace!!!
I quit going for big air a few years ago and started just playing around in the wake and it low. Great video saw some new stuff to try especially taking the fins off. Inspired me to head out today and play. THANKS👍
Can’t wait the wakeboarding season is about to begin in Australia and we just got our boat serviced the other day. Hopefully I’ll be able to land my first wake to wake after watching your video on it
Awesome! Thanks for dropping this one Shaun! I took the fins off of my Watson Classic a few years ago and have not really used them since! Tried them for about 5 min one time this summer and the board felt like it was glued to the water so back off they came. I think I have gotten to be a better all around rider without them. Keep up with the new content...love the channel and you have always been my favorite rider. I love your enthusiasm for riding and life in general. Thanks
At 55 years old with a total knee replacement and having just learned how to wakeboard from your awesome Detention series, everything i do is low impact..lol .. these are my goals for this season ...no big air for this old fart
I love this, I didn’t realize how cool this was until I rode at hangar 9 and was the only one on the cable (Panakos was training staff) and just carved around on butter. One of the best sets of my life
Hey Shaun do you have a video on how to do that tail press/slide behind a boat? I’ve only been able to find a few for the cable...Thanks for the videos they’ve been a big help.
After my first ever attempt at wakeboarding last week, about 30 falls, honestly say i bloody love this sport. Managed to stay up for a 2 minute ride so can't wait until next time. Great vid looks Effortless 👌🔥You make it look easy
This is my goal!!! Given im a late begginer and my work responsibilities. I can't afford a blown knee. This is all the fun I wanna achieve, and the occasional jump
Shaun Murray - loves the line over from previous clips. Though favourite part of previous videos were the Baba o Reilly butter slide on the whip when the roam board came out - some of these shots remind me of that section. All time epic ness.
Any tips for a newbie on how to do the thing where you tilt the board way up into the air with just the smallest bit of the back side still in the water - the board always flies out from under me if I’m leaned that far back! But you hold it in that position like it’s nothing!
@@jacobbenton1938 That one's a little tricky, but to learn a flex board makes it easier. And going without fins can help too. Go into a hard cut to get going fast bc speed is your friend and kind of a must. Doing this while the boat is in the turn can help as well. Once you're going pretty fast, shift your weight to the tail by straightening your front leg and pretty much sit on the tail. Your back hip should almost be touching the tail of the board and at that point you can start to push the board out from underneath you by straightening out your back leg. At that point, you should be on the tail. It doesn't last too long unless you're in a gnarly whip so get up on the tail for a brief moment and then come off of it. Hope this helps!
@@Shaun.Murray Thanks a ton for the advice. I’ll start practicing it. I’ve been using this channel a lot recently to try and get better. Thanks for helping all of us out by taking the time to make videos and respond to comments. God bless.
Good question Josh, and I thought the same thing back in 04 when I was doing a simple wake to wake jump on my wakeskate. Landed one foot on and one foot off. Didn't stretch my groin, rather, dislocated my knee blowing my ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus. Not saying you shouldn't wakeskate, just telling you that I thought I would "take it easy" and just cruise. Worst knee injury of my history on the water. Few years later I got back on it to say that it didn't beat me. Took a simple fall and as I was coming back to the surface and my head came out of the water the skate was still moving and I took it right between the eyes and split me open. That did it for me. Haven't skated but once or twice at OWC since then. So you could say it beat me.
Set the thermostat on the sun around 81, turn the wind down to as close to zero as you can, and hopefully all the other boaters stay home for the day. That should do the trick.
Amazing) I wish you did simple tutorials step by step I'm really afraid of injuries while riding and it really stop's me) I do love wakeboard but after 1 st time behind the boat i crushed my head hardly.
Really lovin' the fun surface moves and stuff but if I can't get no "air", I will find it very difficult to breath ;0p EatSleepWakeboard... Peace&Love brothers and sisters.
Try having the boat go really slow, around 13 mph, and do surface stuff right behind it. Even in chop the boat can smooth out the water right behind it a bit better

Love those surface skills
Watching this again right before my first session next season.
I like that.

You should do a little video of riding other Hyperlite riders models like Rusty's and having fun.
Not a bad idea
Low impact.....until you catch an edge! 😜
:)
I caught an edge last week and my head and neck hurt for 3 days 😂🤣
How do u keep popping up for little jumps when it doesn’t look like your even doing anything
Love this

😂 I got water up my nose on that one ! Lovin your videos man.
How are you able to lip slide out in the flats? Does your board have tiny fins?
When is it advised to remove the fins? I find myself face planting too much

Why did you take off the fins
To butter around. Meaning, sliding around, including on the nose and tail. Fins wouldn't allow the smooth feeling doing that on the tip and tail.

You can always do some slow speed stuff straight behind the boat bc it's much smoother back there even in choppy water
