I may be the world's biggest loser. I love this. And something about The Prelude at the end gets me on the verge of tears. Such beautiful music. This franchise has blessed us with some amazing music. Nobuo Uematsu is among the most talented composers of the modern era. Perhaps even of all time. And nothing but respect to all the other composers that have also contributed the this franchise.
There's nothing wrong with you! I was lucky enough to be in the chorus for a Distant Worlds concert. Even though we heard the Prelude multiple times in rehearsal, it still hits wonderfully hearing it each time :)
Magnífico resumen de mi infancia, adolescencia y juventud, en una Obra Maestra musical. Tengo 53 años y aun disfruto como nunca con estos juegos y sus canciones. ☺
First time in Paris and second in London at the royal albert hall in private section and meet them after the concert was the best gift from my frends 😍 magical moment, childhood memories, best music Zanarkand, Eyes on me ... all of them :)
I remember going to the 35th anniversary concert in '22 in Boston, it was so beautiful. I've been lucky to go too two DW performances, but have yet to see one with Draco and Maria, hoping that will be on the next program!
I had the awesome experience of getting to see Distant Worlds live. It was absolutely wonderful. I actually learned to play Somnus from FFXV after watching the conductor play the violin solo.
Whole concert is brilliant, but I love chocobo song, so much, it has such a cool vibe 😎. I've been twice on distant worlds already, and I plan to go each time when they are touring. It is just amazing music, and atmosphere 😊
YESS its really capture what chocobo is , its cute, its fun, its adventorous and you can feel through the music the "Rush" feel when ride them I cant even describe it 😂, its just really capture what chocobo is
I hope that if a 6th album is made, they do the theme of the empire from XII. I have been dying to hear a live version of that track. I'm also kicking myself after seeing that the Distant Worlds concert was in St. Louis last month and I didn't know. I would have gone.
Muchas gracias hironobu sakaghushi por sus historias, yoshitaka amano por su arte y nobuo uematsu por la música. Por crear esos mundos tan distantes para nosotros.
Ah... I can't. I always break into tears with Zanarkand. I thought I would be able to hold it but I couldn't, I had to pause the video. I shouldn't have heard it when working.
Estersand is good - just the game never caught on as much as some other titles. Imo understandable as it is not so much a lightharted game as the previous installments
Was this taken down some time ago and put back up? I swear I looked it up but couldn't find it.. and remember a lot more comments too. Either way, downloading this gem in case it ever gets taken down for good😄
I'm certain Distant Worlds has done Aerith's Theme. As well as Bombing Mission, and the Main Theme of FF7 if you're looking for FF7 music in particular.
I hope eons and eons from now this series, at the very least the first 10 installments, live on. Especially for its music. This series isn't just special to us for nostalgia sake... there's something there for all of us, whether some choose not to see that or not.
I wish Square Enix wasn’t as capitalist as they are now, compared to back then; the remake of vii, albeit actually a good game, lacks the initial vision of the original imo. Maybe if Square wasn’t constricted by their monetary lofty endeavours, then they could of literally created a new era of gaming for the nostalgic people like us, and the newcomers…but alas, that hasn’t happened unfortunately.
My wife bought tickets to see them two days ago. Unfortubately 4 days prior she felt the need to file for a divorce. She gave the tickets to her friends. Was devastated in so many ways. I WILL see them someday
the orchestra is fabulous. But why do they pick singers who have never played the games? It makes it sound nasty. They try and get to the point... but clearly they have no clue. I am talking just before the opera part. Which I am loving with this setup.
Well, Susan Calloway *is* the official singer for the song she performed, unfortunately Eyes on Me wasn't. It wasn't a bad performance per say, Faye Wong's original performance is just too nostalgic and other versions typically don't sound as good to me.

I've seen them 3 times in concert, and it isn't enough. To be able to play for them would be an absolute dream come true.

I do not have to imagine that because i am one of these kids who grew up with these games. It really is like a dream
