Me: It just a silly little game about beavers! For sure we won't see the devs go to great lengths to implement the best water physics in any video game ever, right? Meanwhile Mechanistry:
Flexible start is a perk unlockable when you finish a wonder for that map. I wish more perks are added based on colony achievements, it would make replaying a map more exciting.
@@familhagaudir8561 im sure later on more types of beavers could be added. i.e. "TERMINATOR BEAVERS" colony. where theyre all robot beavers lol. ooooo "brain blast" the robot beavers could be the final level because well now the beavers have gone extinct as well.
They are nice quality of life update. I do feel like the best feature is still verticality of water. The water and area management has been totally changed with it, as you can have ground level buildings, storage and food management fully "underwater", with proper city built on top of it.
@@sergioenriquez3937 So you have three options: automatic/close/open. Which are self-explanatory. For automatic you can pick settings that activate when the sluice opens/closes: 1) Close Above Downstream Depth means that sluice will close, if the water level below/after (the side with "teeth") it exceeds that specific water level. It's good for irrigation, where you don't want your water to drown your plants or buildings, especially when you are filling closed areas, like lakes. For example you build big dam/water reservoir and you build small sluices every now and then that are tunnels going through your farms or you build small lakes for aquatic farming. And you don't need to put secondary exits for water to escape. 2) Close Above Contamination - this means that Sluice will close if contamination on top of it exceeds picked percentage. When you build sluice - it will inform you of contamination levels at the bottom of it (same with downstream depth tbh). This is best used for fresh water management. For example you build a reservoir on top of your water source - then you put a sluice with this setting on 0%. That sluice only will open for fresh water, never allowing for bad water to go through, you can then connect multiple sluices to your main water reservoir this way. Big issue that you may find - sometimes water doesn't have the best stream, especially, if you build dams and sluices in valleys and on turns - those it may take way too much time for bad water to get flushed and you may dry up your reservoirs and farms by not paying attention. It's good to check on these, because sometimes letting 1-5% bad water contamination may be more helpful to flush out bad water through the system (or you put specific tunnels right before those sluices that will keep the stream going, even if your fresh water sluice is closed). 3) Close Below Contamination - this one is used for special bad water tunnels and contamination clearing. Important thing to mention - if you put this one on 0%, it will always stay opened! Example of usage - you put this in place where you want to flush bad water out - for example on opposite site of the reservoir you built around your water source. When you put it at 1%, it will always stay opened, when there is some contamination in the reservoir - letting you flush all that bad water into a separate tunnel. But if it's at 0% (fresh water) - this sluice will close letting you build up big amounts of fresh water in your reservoirs.
@@sergioenriquez3937 For your problem specifically - build a reservoir around the water source. Then have two sluices on different sides (start with ground level for bad water sluice, the other one - do accordingly for your needs and resources). Fresh water sluice you put on "Close above contamination: 0%". Bad water sluice you put on "Close below contamination: 1%". This way you only will allow fresh water from one and bad water from the other. At the same time - bad water sluice won't drain your reservoir from fresh water, letting you store (faster) more fresh water in the system. If you only want to separate bad water - but you are ok with wasting fresh water (maybe because you build water power plants or there is enough water sources, where you don't need a lot of water stored). Just build "Close above contamination: 0%" sluice and have other side either always opened or managed by hand/dams. So you can always just have fresh water go to your farms.
Devs, this update is amazing. I been playing on experimental with it, and genuinely one of the best game updates, of any game, ever. That is saying something, since the game was already very good, abd made it great. Normally great updates bring games from being...less than acceptable/unplayable to mostly what they promised before release, and even that is normally a series of updates. The fact you keep making this game better is awesome. Great work, and keep it up.
This game has been worth its price since over a year for all the fun I have on it, but this one update fixes all the main things getting in the way of some crazy fun projects and difficulty challenges. More unlockable perks per map would be fun, like surviving a 100 days drought. And dare I dream, a campaing story mode some day. One of the few games I bought since many years with zero regret. There is just something about making dams and manage water and ressources that is so fun.
Man! I remember playing the very first time ever and being bummed I couldn't bring water to my farm over a river, with some wooden blocks! Tried all kinds of workarounds like trying to build houses as a "aqueduct" for water etc.! Can't wait to play this version!!!
I would like to see in the future a simple, but massive (good water) flood, to see how my timbertown is affected by a flood. It would be a great addition.
This update looks amazing. Underwater tunnels and cityscapes look amazing and the new sluice gates allow for so much better water control than we had before.
Bought it at the beginning of the year to stream it and am itching since 3 o'clock to start streaming again after a longer break It was on sale back then at the good ol' steam and you can get so many hours out of a handful of bucks, it's simply amazing Thanks for all the hard work you shoved into your baby, it's a great game which steadily gets better and you guys are simply amazing at what you do
This update looks absolutely incredible and honestly seems like so much of what I've been hoping for in the game. Tunnels? Check, and yes please. Water mechanics? Oh hell yes. Verticality?? Oh lawd let me at it. Mod support and creation? There are so many incredible mods that've been created by the community already, I can't wait to see what else is stirred up. I'd love a wallpaper version of the artwork at the end of the video!!! Can't wait to play with the new water mechanics. Normally I do the experiment build, but this time I decided to wait to it was all finalized to work out any kinks.

I have always dreamed of an aqueduct simulator, but I never thought it would become a reality. So niche. But it makes sense in this game. Kudos to you for giving it a reason to exist. Take that, pipes.
Devs really went a good direction with this game. I mean the precision with which they selected the best suggestions and implemented them has been incredible. I'm guessing something like ladders might be coming next, but I honestly couldnt imagine what more this game needs besides them ladders and perhaps a faction or 2 more.
I only started to pay attention to this game watching Skye stormes playlists, fantastic game! I would love to see floating logs and sawmills like in North America, and canal style haulage with locks and canal boats, love the game and can’t wait wit to see what is next!

Give us small and large capacity pumps (that require HP power) that you put in a water source then you can connect proper pipes (hollowed out logs) that you can pipe water all over the map just like power shafts!!!
@@mjm3091 Yeah, i've been playing on the experimental branch for a while. it works but it's too limiting. I want real pipes that move liquids like it moves power (HP).
