Very Odd! Thank you for sending me a copy. Awesome research! I can tell you put a lot of effort into this! I had not of heard of this case either until now. Very sad and bizarre! Who knows if well ever know what happened.. Thank you for the great content!
Sad that the person or persons who killed jim and John will remain a mystery to us all. Thank you for taking the time to share the story of these men. Never heard about them until now. Very interesting.
Hey Brian, I came across your site and found your videos, voice and storytelling very nice. You sound like a nice young man with an empathetic heart. I am curious about this calendar you mentioned in a video from two years ago. Do you still sell calendars? I like the idea that you have a P.O. Box or perhaps you no longer do. Like I said I watched stuff from two years ago. Am now subscribed and look forward to your amiable tone.
Really crazy story! You research is always so thorough. I (and I'm sure others really appreciate that!) I'm definitely going to look into some of those books and sites.. Such a mysterious series of events. Thank you for doing these videos and taking my mind of work :) You know I love a good mystery! Not only had I never heard of this case, but now I want to know what happened! ( like so many others..) Some of those theories are really ridiculous... I definitely agree with you there.. this may be one of those cases that's never solved.. Always look forward to your videos! Thanks for getting me hooked on another mystery..🙃 Great Video!
Yes, It took me several weeks of reading, research etc to do this one..definitely so many things that don't add up.. thank you as always for watching and your feedback🙏
in the late 60s a relative a bulldozer operator that lived on the the other side of the range and fished the mountain streams used to call in to two old guys hut somewhere near the Catherine river they told him they did it and rustled purebred horses could be another bs story but I believed the relative that told me.he had other stories about the two old blokes .
Hi Bryan! You did an excellent job on this video! It's really sad and mysterious on what happened to Jim and John regarding their deaths. I'm speculating but maybe there was a third party involved in both of the men's deaths. I really enjoyed the video. I hope you're doing well, and I continue to pray for you and your family daily.🙏 Timber
Hello Bryan, hope you're having a blessed Thursday. Thank you for this story. I enjoy these older mysteries of real people with tragic life endings stories... Thanks again. Ttus 🕊️🙋♀️
My family is an old cattle family from the area and has myself spent time camping in the wonnangatta area. My family has been mentioned in some books on the mystery of the murders. The story I was told and told by other descendents of other families in the area is that, indeed, it was cattle rustlers that killed Jim and John. The story passed down was of two brothers. One of them was hiding from conscription at the time and knew the area well. He lived mostly off the land and would explain why the crops were cut during the time of the murder. They would steal cattle and drive them over the hills and sell them. One of the brothers had the same initials as Jim Barclay, and that's why no one questioned the branding on the cattle (JB). Also, one of my descendants was threatened by one of the brothers with a pistol that resembled the missing pistol from Jim. I had a great friendship with a descendent of the brothers, and he told me the exact same story, believing it to be true. There is a campsite in a close valley to wonnangatta that still bears the name of the brothers and was a cattle station, with an old hut that now has been rebuilt. There is an apple tree growing on the bank of the Conglomerate Creek, and that is the exact site where Jim's body was found. The old homestead has plans to be rebuilt. There is a Facebook page, friends of the wonnangatta, for more information. It's an extremely isolated area, and many people have gone missing over the years as your videos have shown. Know one will know exactly what happened, but if you're local to the area, that is the story that is told by many.
Wow! That's brilliant information. I'm from Olinda, which isn't really close by, but I know the Mansfield, Howqua, Jamieson area quite well, & the Wonnangatta, Howitt Plains, Abbeyard, Dandongadale areas to a lesser extent, so it's fascinating to learn about this story I had never heard before.
New Sub : Wow a lot of details- thank you for research and presentation. 👍 Australia is mostly a huge wilderness- I often wonder how many people are buried out there - not missing persons but just not found buried somewhere yet. 😢😢
This is great stuff (fantastic primary images and background context), but I hope you return to doing very recent disappearances too because there are endless channels that do hours long episodes about long term unsolved cases. Not many cover developing cases.
WOW! Amazing, so much information from so long ago. Will probably remain a mystery forever. Have you been back to Kit Carson or Crystal Springs Campground? I visited last year, but Crystal Springs was closed due to fire aftermath.
Wow! That’s really digging into the past for a bonafide mystery. That’s a lot of information but not really anything to go on. If I had any connection to this, I would contact a psychic. It might be useful or maybe not but I’d find someone who works with law enforcement and see if perhaps they could help. 👍☮️🌞🏔️🌲🏘️🤔
I hope your health is doing better. I am sorry you have to deal with it. You are a wonderful guy. And you are appreciated very much. God bless you🙏🏼

No worries! Yes definitely a very bizarre mystery! The more I researched, the more questions I had! Thank you for the kind feedback🙏
I like these longer videos

I didn’t know this story, and I’ve been up to Wonnongatta !

Bryan can you please do a video on the Australian outback many people have disappeared there watching from Melbourne Australia
A story something you see in a Coen Brothers movie.
Sounds like a cluster f.
Too complicated Bry 😂
His wife had twin daughters and all three died wow
if you visit the cemeteries in the isolated towns many had 8 or so kids, 6 might die before they turn 4
Very sad that MOTHER AND TWINS DIED 😢😢
Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lil but everyone knew her as Nancy.
༼ つ ಥ_ಥ ༽つ prayers for all whom are lost in this world
Mansfield not Manfield.
thank you Bryan .🫶🏼👍🏼
