For the price I have no complaints, even as someone who has rented the 100-400. As a wildlife photographer on a budget, the Tamron is excellent value for money, and the stabilisation doesn't bother me because as a bird in flight photographer, I tend to turn it off anyway. The extra 100mm was the deal breaker for me between these lenses as well. Absolutely love it! Great video as always.
Supposedly the Tamron might even allow bigger aperture in certain focal ranges … Also shooting burst might be limited, also no extender … but most of these are negligible downsides for probably many hobby photographers :)
Yeahhh, the extender thing is kinda not a big thing for me. I have a Sony 1.4 and wasn’t a huge fan when paired with the 100-400. But some people may prefer having an extender available to them 🤷🏻♂️ thanks for watching!!
only "downside" the raynox 250 doesn't fit on the front. have tried 10mm + 16mm Meike step up rings and that works like charm. close focus about 1 meter away from the subject, great for bugs that get spooked easily 🙂

Yeahhhh, compared to the Sony it’s pretty damn good!! Half tempted to make the swap 😬 just for that extra range

@@DannyBligh Is the Tammy weather sealed?
@@LtDeadeye yeah it is ☺️
Great video Danny, not in the market for any sort of these Lenses but learned a lot!
I sometimes wish I weren’t, i’d save a huge amount if cash 😂😂 thanks for watching

Yeahhh, i have the meike ring but not tried it with the Tamron. I always grab my 85 1.8 for any macro stuff. It’s whatever works for you 🙌🏻
@@DannyBligh I have the sony 90 too and that one works great with both the rings and the raynox 250 for some extra magnification
Good comparison Danny, looks a quality lens considerimg the price
Absolutely!! It’s really surprised me! Wasn’t sure what to expect but the quality is there for the price 💪🏻
got it, love it.
Glad to hear it!!
