70's Sabbath is absolute gold. ❤️ this one! Also check out 'A National Acrobat' & 'Symptom of the Universe'.
Everyone seems to ignore "A National Acrobat." It's one of my favorites, maybe even number 1. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who likes it. Nobody gives it the attention it deserves.
@@bassage13 I actually heard it mentioned on a channel that picked it as a Deep Cut - I believe on Sea of Tranquility
A National Acrobat!!!! My favorite Sabbath song.
@@bassage13 I agree with you 1,000% A national acrobat might be their best song. I also feel the same way about "The thrill of it all" on the Sabatage album. Sabbath gold that never gets talked about.
@@bschuler6216A national Acrobat is the best. That beat and guitar in the middle. Its definitely a bad ass jam.
"Vol. 4" is one of their best albums, you should try the song "Snowblind" next!
Wheels Of Confusion to Under The Sun!
Fav Sabbath
Please yes, yes
This and Hole In the Sky off of 4 are killer songs.
Saw them live on 1970, beyond belief
Black Sabbath with Ozzy is my favourite band ever. Children of the Grave is an awesome song, Bill Ward tears the drums up in that.
Yep, best there ever was.
Did you know about the RacerX version of children of the grave?
Try Children of the Grave by Sandveiss. Excellent cover...
It's not Black Sabbath w/out Ozzy.. or w/out Ward. Unfortunately, *13* isn't a Sabbath record. All 4 or nothing.
@@nodaysback1 I'm a fan, buying their records since 1971. I was 11 then. It's a matter of taste. Some like the Dio era better, some like Tony Martin. I like them all. And especially the Seventh Star album. Yup, the one with Glenn Hughes singing. Tony just adapts writing to the singer, so to me he is Black Sabbath, more than any other.
Bill Ward kills it in this.
As usual
Bill Ward killed everything. RiP drum kit!
Supernaut is the song that turned me into Sabbath, that riff is just gigantic and the groove just pulls you along with it. Nobody swings like Sabbath, it's what their immitators don't get, the groove from Geezer and Bill is what sets them apart
everyone mentions the riffs but not the groove
Ozzie takes it to another level
The best heavy metal band of all time by far. There isn't anybody that comes close.
No argument over them being the best!! But I put Priest pretty high up there, too. Between Halford's vocal range and the twin axe attack of Tipton and Downing they took metal in a new direction. But Sabbath is still tops!!
right on....listening since 69....still a huge fan...all 4 of them the best at what they do..plain and simple!!!
Saw them live in 1970, blew me away
@Glen I agree the Inventors of heavy metal are the best of all time
Purple was better live, Sabbath wrote better songs.
James Hetfield once said when it came to cool riffs Toni Iommi already wrote them all.
✌❤🇨🇦
Hetfield made the breakdown riff in Through the Never. But yes mostly true xd
100% in agreement --- All hail the riff Maister !!!
Fifty years after the facts, I still remain amazed at how heavy this was compared to other music from those days.
me too....heavy and talented!!
Uriah heep would like a word about that.
Snowblind is another awesome song of theirs you guys could check out.
Might be my favorite Sabbath song and System of a Down does a very respectable cover of Snowblind as well (for one of those cover streams).
This song is like something from another planet! Incredible!
Heavy metal perfection. As good as it gets even at a half century old.
i agree, many heavy metal bands that are just noise....they are all the best at what they did
"Symptom of the Universe" and "Tomorrow's Dream" are two of my Sabbath favorites.
The Screaming Trees do a good, faithful cover of Tomorrow's Dream.
SYMPTOM OF THE UNIVERSE and THE WRIT!
Riff kings? That's the understatemant of the century. They literally created heavy metal which is all about the riffs, and then they proceeded to perfect it by their second album. No artist deserves the title of King like Sabbath deserves the title Riff Kings.
'The Writ' by Black Sabbath, is even more proof that they are the Riff Kings🤘🤘🤘
My favorite Sabbath tune👍
@@brettschacht4183 After many days of careful consideration, I have concluded that:
*Blow In A Jug* is my favorite Sabbath tune. It was tough! But, I just kept coming back to this one...
@@nodaysback1 Not familiar with that one. Bill Ward tune? Fairies Wear Boots is #2 for me. What a riff!
@@nodaysback1 blow on a jug, I think it’s called. Right after ‘The Writ’, it’s very faint so crank it up!
@@lerxstdirkst6181 That's the one.. Im not sure if it's still included on the remastered releases. That"s Ward on piano and Ozzy singing. The song is based on Mungo Jerry and his band that had a jug player. They stole the show at music festival, blew away sabbath and priest with the fans there, if l recall.. They were all so shocked about it that it left a lasting impression, they tagged that little piece onto Sabotage..
She is so stunningly beautiful it's RIDICULOUS. I absolutely LOVE her smile. She always looks happy, and eager to enjoy herself and that is a fantastic quality to have especially in this day and age where everyones so angry all the time. Love watching the reactions to some of my favorite songs from the best bands ever.
Vol.4....Great Lp
love this song. have to say Ministry / 1000 Homo Dj's rocks it a little harder. yall should check it out. Al Jourgensen is a genius... Practically every one of the top 40 records being played on every radio station in
The United States is a communication to the children to take a trip, to cop out, to
Groove. The psychedelic jackets on the record albums have their own hidden symbols
And messages as well as the lyrics to all the top rock songs and they all sing the
Same refrain: It's fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins
Agreed, I first heard the Trent Reznor / 1000 Homo Dj's version while deep-diving NIN, and it got me looking at Ministry too. Hits even harder than Sabbath's
it is so good
I knew someone would get around to mentioning this before me. 1000 Homo DJ's cover of Supernaut is one of those few covers that actually surpasses the original. Great song.
Also off of Volume 4 is the song Tomorrow's Dreams, which is a really good deeper cut, and one that the Screaming Trees cover very faithfully.
I've been trying for a while to get them to react to ministry, butthole surfers and revolting cocks but no luck yet.
Supernaut has been one of my fav Black Sabbath songs for years. Lex, I love the way you rock and get into it! Too cute!
"Under the Sun" on this album has one of the heaviest riffs in history. Or future.
Yeah, Sabbath also invented doom metal. I completely forgot about that song.
Remember when I first heard this song in the 70s. I turned into a lizard or could been the psychedelic refreshments i was consuming..😁😁😁
A National Acrobat…nobody reacts to it and it is 🔥🔥🔥
There are so many Sabbath tracks worthy of reaction, mainly their early stuff. But A couple very early ones that you wouldn't believe are the same band are "Changes", which is a beautiful balad. And "Looking For Today", which has a very 60s flowery hippy melodic feel while still being fairly heavy. Both absolutely fantastic songs.
" I want to reach out and touch the sky..... " Bliss 😊 One of the best British bands ever 🤘😎🤘
One off the best riff ever....for me.
I'll add another vote for A National Acrobat... and Into The Void
3 notes in she’s ready to jam! Instant classic!
I love your channel, you play songs nobody plays. Thanks for getting into the deep cuts.
So bassy thick and bad ass. That giant black Sabbath sound. Awesome
I like how Lex is always more into the heavier bands and Brad is into the softer ones
THAT guitar tone . . . . . . in 1972. Absolutely unbelievable.
Absolutely my favorite sabbath riff!!
That riff...along w Geezer's greasy bass are what makes this song.
I first heard this album in 1974 and this song in particular had me hooked immediately.
One of the greatest metal songs of all time off Sabbath's best album, Volume 4.
One of the top 3 albums of all time, says I!!!
LISTEN TO THAT BASS AND YES RIFF KINGS LEX NAILED IT GOAT!!!!
2:51 lmfao she always has a unique way of interpreting songs
I'm old. I've been listening to Black Sabbath since the 1st hit. 1969 I think. The original metal band
Good to see young folks enjoying great rock music
My favorite Sabbath tune!!!
One of my absolute favorites by them.
Lex! You are right! She always feels the vibe that is in the music!
70s Metal Gods 🤘😎BLACK SABBATH 🎼🎼🎼🎼 15 years old when I first heard this Music and forever Changed my preference in Music.🤘😎 Still Rockin in 2022.
Great Reaction Brad and Lex 🎼🎼
I was in the 8th grade, in a band when this album came out. I had bought Masters of Reality a few months earlier. Black Sabbath litterially rose my consciousness. The next album I bought was Paranoid.
Lex is right, that "squeak" is the sound of fingers sliding across the strings, and sometimes the picking, and it's just so cool
Yes, also called sleeve noise. J Walsh was good at that.
you guys rock, awesome reaction. more sabbath
My favorite Black Sabbath song of all time. I did a lot of cruisin' and tokin' to this song with my buds. Great times! Love your reaction!
More Sabbath please.
Thought Lex would like this one, again, we were right.
Hey this track melted my ice cream! Great Review Thanks....
Got no religion, don't need no friends
Got all I want and I don't need to pretend
Don't try to reach me, 'cause I'd tear up your mind
I've seen the future and I've left it behind
Great lyrics
👏👏👏
Lex has an incredible sensibility to feel the textures of a song. Brad, you are a lucky one.
Ps:Whitesnake's 1980 version of "Fool for your loving" would be a good React.
I think the teeth/tongue analogy Lex is trying to come up with is the sound of a guitarists hands moving positions up and down the bottom three (wound) strings and creating a squeak.. you often hear it more in acoustic guitar playing
Sabbath finest works
The intro of Supernaut reminds me of the intro of "Shaft".....DAAAAAM RIGHT!
Brad's face when explains the tongue is priceless.
You guys should react to…
Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave
🎸🤘
This is the one 🤘
SUCH a good Black Sabbath song. Maybe try a Sabbath love song: "Sabbra Cadabra". It swings, it entrances. There's synths, piano.....and cowbell!
The Animals- A girl named Sandoz. 1968
Sandoz is the pharmaceutical company that made LSD
Thank you Brad & Lex for doing this favorite of mine! Awesome.
Groovy. They are the GOATs
Umm Banger!! 👍😜
Black Sabbath are gods!
I just purchased a lane here in las vegas at the brooklyn bowl for anthrax and BLS July 28th. come on to vegas. youd love this show!!!
The sky is ripped open
You must hear Shock Wave or Johnny Blade from Black Sabbath Never say die Album. Very underrated!!!
Bill Ward.
That's all you need.
such a straight up funk drenched tune yeah
Lex, I wasn't ready for your tongue thing 😂
Thanks for sharing your awesome reactions, sometimes the music brings me close to tears of happiness and my memories are refreshed, thank you from Oxford Uk.
Lex, I get your analogy of the teeth and the sound Tony is making on guitar. When he was young he cut the tips off of two of his fingers working in a sheet metal shop. When his nubs healed it hurt too much for him to play guitar. His solution was to melt down pieces of plastic and mold them to fit his finger tips, and then he glued pieces of leather onto the plastic. Even with this he still felt some pain, so he lightened his touch on the strings. The sound you are describing is Tony sliding his fingers on the fretboard. The nasty sound of the riffs is his touch and the leather. An industrial accident was partially responsible for the birth of heavy metal!!
I love Black Sabbath. Rock on Brad & Lex
I like to see you guys reactions, I think Lex has an old soul keep on rockin!
Lex is cute as hell jamming 😊
Bill Ward 🥁🤘🤘
OMG! Helene here….Lex feels music like this EXACTLY like I do! I’m watching the way she moves….her hands especially…her expressions……it’s like watching myself waaaay back in the day….I still do, but it’s not as cute in a woman my age as it is with her. The way you describe your feelings to music, Lex, is just so damn GOOD! Spot on! You’re a natural. I’ve given up counting the number of times Brad has said “I don’t get it”. 😂
brad seems like he will never get it...get the impression he just really does not appreciate any music!!!
Can't ever go wrong on Black Sabbath.....and Ozzy without Black Sabbath for that matter...listen to "No more tears" please!!!
This album (Black Sabbath Volume 4) is great all the way through. Check out "Wheels of Confusion" and "Snowblind" from the same album.
Some more Sabbath for you...Children of the grave, Into the void & Wheels of confusion.
The next Sabbath song you should do, is ‘Snowblind’; it’s the jam.
Tony plays tons of what is called"trills" in this solo. That is why you are thinking about snake tongues.
My favourite Sabbath tune. Geezer Butlers thundering bass line is just so damn good with Toni's guitars
such a great song
Your reaction vids are fun. Not only seeing how you both react to the music but Brads reaction to Lex. Too funny.
Warning is great, and has everything. You will love Symptom Of The Universe.
One of their best tracks.
Riff Kings indeed.
Deep cut. Love it.
We mere mortals are not worthy oh riff Maister !! All hail the riff Lord !!!!!!!!
I love this so much you just made my day
From Black Sabbath VOL. 4 - Lex likes the Hard stuff!!!!!
That groove
Supernaut and Snowblind are definitely my two favorite songs from this album, notice when guitarist Tony Iommi goes into his lead on this song, there also is a rhythm guitar playing. Black Sabbath only has one guitar player and one bass player in order for us to hear 2 guitars, Tony plays both parts, but just like I said about that one part in Pat Benatar’s song heartbreaker where we hear 2 Pat Benatar voices the recording method to do that is called double tracking, so one individual like Tony Iommi on guitar,, or Pat Benatar’s vocals actually can clone them selves so to speak, in reality they perform both parts at separate recording times. I have a very rare Jimi Hendrix cd, called historic Hendrix, where I believe Jimi plays all the instruments guitar ,bass and drums everything and he records it one track at a time, or maybe 2 vocals and guitar recorded at the same time , next, I believe he recorded the bass guitar and lastly the drums!! in essence he was for those songs a one man band🎸🎸However, for some of that CD ,come to think of it he did have a few guest musicians join him I believe for some songs, vocals, and drums!! However, I’m positive there are other songs on that CD that’s just Jimi Hendrix
I would recommend A National Acrobat by Black Sabbath as well
Please do Symptom of the Universe by Sabbath.
Btw, apparently in a Jam session they did with Zepplin in the studio, there's a recording of this song with John Bonham. Sadly no recording has passed down time of this version.
When I hear that Riff it always reminded me of The Animals song " A Girl Named Sandoz"
Like Lex shows there is no ways to dislike and enjoy Black Sabbath reaction! hail to grandfathers of heavy metal!
I'm going to guess, if you were to examine it, Lex's side of the couch shows a lot more wear and tear than Brad's.
Automatic *Like*
Great songs! Keep up the Excellence!
🔥 1:48 - 2.29 🎸🐐
Funny that Lex would mention "squeaky teeth" at the end. (For those who know the relation between coke and squeaky teeth... yeah, you know who you are.)The band and their entourage were holed up in a rented mansion in Beverly Hills whiffing copious amounts of cocaine during the writing/recording of this album. Look at the liner notes on the back of the album, Vol.IV. They thank the great COKE-Cola company of Los Angeles.
Omg the tongue 👅 🤣she gotta do it🤘🏽
When Sabbath played this live the whole area went fucking wild!!!!!!
