The connection between these games is incredible. From shared music, such as the boss theme in Lenna's Inception having an early version of Arrow of Time and the shops in both games being the EXACT SAME theme, to the very concept of Archangels being the same between both games. It honestly makes me crave for more from the devs.
The devs 100% deserve to be praised both games are more then different enough to be separate entities yet fall into a wider and more mysterious universe of sorts
It blows my mind how this outlines the entire plot of Lenna's Inception, and even straight up tells you how to get the good ending, but it's soaked in enough metaphors you'll only figure it out if you already know.
Let's see... "Faced with a text of blood" - Refers to the Elder's "it's dangerous to go alo-" message written in blood. "Despite your repentance / And best intentions" - Lenna's guilt for killing the archangels "If you learn to loosen your mind / You never know what you might find round here /The box looks smaller from the outside" - The missinglasses let you break outside boundaries "Tremors causing cracks in the crown" - the corruption of the palace?
“an honest chip on your shoulder won’t make a soldier out of anyone” - even if you’re upset about the kingdom, or your students, etc. killing is not the solution
This is a game I remember playing years ago, liked playing, even if it made me feel really bad with the first ending I got, and I was like "That was nice, but it's too bad the team didn't make any other games." and then I completely forgot about it until I got part of the way through Cassette Beasts and went "Wait a minute, why is this so familiar?" I somehow bamboozled myself.
Now the title makes sense: Your Inception definitely helps tie the reference but also gives the sense Lenna is trying to teach you to be strong and be "the hero."
@@StarshadowMelody So the issue with Usurper being Lenna's true theme is it's more of a duel song. Delvin, as Archangel Delvin, has claimed mastery of the world through the glitches of 8Fridge, stealing Lenna's demonhood for himself. If Lance were somehow to be the hero fighting Archangel Delvin, perhaps we'd hear nothing but Delvin's theme. But Delvin is just an usurper, having stolen away Lenna's title and power. Lenna is fighting to take it back--whether to reclaim it for herself or to seal it away and do good with her new life depends on the Power of Truth. This reflects in The Usurper switching back and forth to Lenna's theme, and as the song builds up near the end you'll hear a key shift. The interesting part is that the key shift is introduced by a brief _glitch in the music,_ symbolic of Delvin struggling to maintain his control as the fight wears on. So in short, The Usurper isn't Archangel Lenna's theme. It's not Archangel Delvin's, either. It's _both,_ fighting for dominance.
@@GreyMaria for what it's worth, in the best possible ending of Lenna's Inception, we can see that lenna regained access to her archangel form/powers, she just has better morals now and a human form she can take on at will
I've never played Lenna's Inception so I know nothing about the story but the lyrics definitely sound to me like she's encouraging you, the player, telling you that she's been in your place and had to rise up to the occasion and be the hero, so you can too.
