Around 6 years ago, I was attending active shooter defense training. Everyone showed up in their regular MMA workout fit, except that one guy in jeans. Everyone started cracking jokes but he just said if there was a real active shooter or other emergency, he’d likely just be in jeans, so he’s training how he’s living. I occasionally train in jeans now too.
100% makes sense too
wait, how is martial arts going to defend you from active shooter?
I grew up in an old gym in Bakersfield, and it was normal to see the local police officer, ups driver, business man come in and workout, in what they were wearing.
Long time watcher and admirer of your work @BrianAlsruheOfficial, to hear you say that you also had the “if I go home first before getting to the gym I won’t go” problem in the past is so reassuring, it used to be a barrier of mine and it took me to change gym location to be able to lift consistently, nice to know that I’m not lazy and people that I respect in the lifting space have faced similar challenges
Big thank you for your channel and keep up the good work man
When I was younger and squatting heavy and wanted to hit a big weight for reps l would squat in Levis, worked every time, waaaay better than a super suit
For the algorithm
Some of the best sessions I’ve had were late at night (I usually workout in the morning) after a long day, not wanting to workout, and wind up killing it.
Also can’t wait for the og linear program to drop:)
I can resonate. Just got off a 11 hour shift as a police officer and am going to get it in right now!
"A barrier is an _excuse_ that stands between you and what _you_ need to get done" - I've slightly paraphrased, but they are some words to live by!
This is for the algorithm. Also Mr. Alsruhe you are a legend, your channel is amazing!
Awesome stuff Brian. Glad to see you with so many plates on the bar again
great video man
Brian has the best attitude and makes me motivated
train like you fight!
Extremely excellent advice and information-many thanks
the stacks look phenomenal....too neat to touch!!!
I too asked myself…hmmm..why is this man in jeans?🎉🎉🎉
Of course you can workout in whatever you want,,,😊 jeans are definitely a cool look too.❤❤
Especially if you're not on benches and other equipment with leather/vinyl padding, jeans are fine outside the hot/humid months. Glad to see you're making the most of your energy and maximizing your enjoyment of the workouts. Keep rocking it, brother!
A good pair of jeans are really supportive, and I've worked in jeans & steel toes for 30 some years.
👍🏻 nice work
Masters lifter checking in ✔️
Good for you. I’ve ripped pants doing squats and lunges in work pants in the past, but I’ve heard barbell apparel jeans are sturdy.
I can understand your reasoning for lifting in jeans. I lift in my slacks and polo or dress shirt at work. I do not have time to change in between teaching classes.
Hopefully similarly to why i wore Raskol Jorts yesterday
Good stuff! I train calisthenics in the streets...so I also train in jeans.
Damn. I miss bumping into you!
Have read and re-read 'Daily Rituals.' 🇺🇸
I train hard in some jeans, get your grind on big Bro !!
Hello Brian, I hope all is well man. I have learned a lot from you, and I am very appreciative for your videos. I wonder if you can shoot a video explaining the difference in benefits and the muscles targeted in Bulgarian Squat, Split Squat, Step Up, and Lunges. I highly appreciate you my brother. Best Regards!!!
Seconded
I’m a postman. I wear shorts to work. Changing into workout gear is a time waster for me. I just go and train as I am- I don’t care.
CLAP!!!!! Still makes my day
Denizen jeans have great stretch.
Duuuuuude i dont even have ONE olympic style barbell. I lost everything years ago including an crucial old school squat rack which ive never had the opportunity to replace.
Thats why I love outdoor workouts: I just put my sandbag, a weight vest and some rings in my car and then I am good to go everywhere before or after work. Of course, that way I will not be an elite strongman, but its enough for me.
I wear Levi’s 541 jeans they are “ athletic” flex.
Jeans are restrictive so I almost never wear them but I do work out in whatever I’m in 👍🤠
Where do you find those thick bars ?
I wanted to get the sandbags but your link is broken. I want to make sure you get a kickback so do you have an additional link that we could use?
Can you use code: neversate10 ?
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial I'll give it a shot thank you.
Jim Green boots?

My guy, is there a reason you do dragon flags for abs? Just wondering. Thanks
Because Bruce Lee is awesome
@@BrianAlsruheOfficial hahahahaha my man..I actually do them everyday..just thought it had something to do with core strength
Training in jeans looks b-a-.
Gives a rugged masculine look.
I work outdoors for long hours and although it’s not nearly as physical as the work you are doing I do try to get most of my training in early morning before work at my house.
Sometimes after work I go to the gym and do a few machines or pulley exercises but I go straight from work in my uniform pants.
I thought it was just me. The work boots too.
raskolapparel has some JANTS! jeans+pants.
Gym jeans? I have been bamboozled...
It's like a squat suit
They stretch. So they’re more like Mom jeans than a squat suit. They’re not normal jeans.
Why do I work out in jeans? Because excuses are the enemy 💪
@1:34 who is the lady friend??
I'm gonna get jacked as you
Training in not just jeans, but apple bottom jeans.
Work in jeans, why not work out in jeans ?
Every dude in Russia wears jeans in the gym.
Cause you an edge lord who doesn't live by anyone rules!!!!
I am so fortunate to have a weight at my workplace and I lift in khakis, polos, shirts, dress shoes, all the time. Yeah I sweat more, but it doesn't affect my lifts. So long as you're careful about your movements your clothes won't fall apart as easily. But if they do, whatever idgaf.
