- Riding at Poto is always enjoyable and always an intense workout. While I wish I had had the time to pause for some side shots, I hope this video gives a good sampling (with perhaps some helpful tips) of the Poto trail.
Just rode this today. That long grind hill towards the end is my favorite. This trail is an absolute gem!
I miss that park so much!!! Great video!!! Thanks for an awesome memory!!! (Western New York has no trails like the ones in Pinckney!)
It is a great state park! Our family loves the whole place!
Doing the Batman ride (Night time going reverse) is always such a blast!
Lol I was just thinking that this trail would be so fun if they could ride in the opposite direction, then all of the climbs would be descents.
nice video. Poto never disappoints
You've got that right. It's about time for me to get back out there. It's always a blast and a humbling experience (due to my lack of endurance).
lifelong pinckney resident. when riding the trail you should always obey the stop signs. sorry if it ruins your cardio workout but a front bumper ruins it more. i live near lakeland trail and riders fail to heed the signs all the time even right after someone ends up in critical condition.
I agree with the black trail comment. Poto will leave you stranded if you’re not on your game too. 9 miles away from the truck if you’re way in the back by the u of m property. I’d call poto a black trail long before torn shirt 20 miles away at brighton.
That bench at 3:30, used to tilt way forward. I'm the one that got it level with rocks and wood. Hiker.
That's funny seeing it in a video.
lol! Good work my friend! I am sure it has been used many times!
i just went there. Thank you for the suggestion
Last climb is my favorite section
I still cannot clear the hill at 7:10 in the video despite several sessioning. My mental is to try the right line that looks easier in the viedeo, but never get a chance. tight turn and so steep gradient make me feel loosing balance and shortly my feet already on the ground haha.
You are crazy to try man! lol! I am sure you are in way better shape than I am!
@@thebikingpreacher8111 i have seen people can clear this climb in triple trail challenge. Super strong and good techniques!
Your best chance of clearing that heals on a single speed, rigid 29er
Poto + DTE makes for an Epic day!
Oh man, I tried it once for the triple trial challenge... crashed out with a concussion lol. Epic is right!
@@thebikingpreacher8111 I seem to remember that triple... which was the third trail? ...sorry you crashed :(
@@thomascray The third was the Waterloo hiking trial (now open to mtb).
@@thebikingpreacher8111 ah, nice. My favorite back in the day (20-25 years ago) was Highland State Rec Area.
@@thomascray I have ridden there once. Had a great time, but it the endurance side kicked my tail lol.
18.5 miles, you went the wrong way at the end, you rode out the at the hikers trailhead, you passed a no bikes sign, trail goes right up to the Crocked Lake road then left to the sandstone climb you did at the beginning..
I was just going to comment the same thing
Thanks man, someone else caught that too. Good to know! I'll have to get back out there and do it right soon!
Hey would you say it's worth a 1.5 drive to try this trail
Depends on what kind of ride you are looking for. If you are looking for a near 20 mile ride with steep climbs and descents, some gnar and some pretty sights, then yes. If you are looking for a flow trail or lots of features probably not. Poto is a favorite to many, but some are looking for something that has more features, jumps and flow.
👍👍 Kool video dude
Well done
Kind of reminds me of Lakeshore Park, except a lot longer. Well from what I see in this video at least...
Lakeshore Park aka Tree Farm is far easier. No comparison
Cool man
Woohoo!
I have to get out there this year.
It is a workout!
@@thebikingpreacher8111 yeah but I love the ride.
Not to be "that guy", but you're not supposed to ride that last portion (sign #2 to sign #1), theres a no bikes sign....take a right at #2, head up to the dirt road, and take a left to the trailhead is the proper way. Awesome video otherwise, keep 'em comin!
@@timboslice45 Well that's good to know! Thanks man! I must have missed the sign in my exhaustion haha.
You went the wrong way at the end.
waterloo and pinkney rec areas were better before they turned the area pretty much into a city park.
