You're going to love that storm door. Even when it's a bit chilly for screens you can open the door and still feel like you're letting the outdoors in. And the bloopers are hilarious! 😄
Years ago we bought a patio storm door that fit over the trim and screwed on the outside of our patio door and then opened by sliding. That double glass sure made it warmer in below zero weather. I wish I could still find a place to buy one now!
Looks like you folks found your true home! I live in a tiny single wide 14’x57’. What’s weird about my tiny home is how thick the walls are. It looks to me the home is constructed out of 2”x6”’s. My first home, 1964 Champion. That was made with 2”x2”’s, hopes and dreams. I live in upstateNew York where cold and snow rule. I heat with oil and only use appropriately 150 gallons/ heating season! I love watching you guys and appreciate you sharing your family with the rest of us. I’m severely disabled in wheelchair and machines to help me breath so I don’t get out too much anymore. Watching you nice folks is like visiting someone and just hangin out watching them do cool stuff. I just wanted to let you folks know that you all add a lot of good cheer to my now sheltered life! Thank you! I’ll keep watching until there is no more of me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this comment. It is so touching to hear that we have a positive impact on others! It's always been our goal, and so happy to hear. :) Thank you very much!!
Some of the older ones were built well, it's a crapshoot. Our's is 40 years old, but has all standard framing (2x4's, 16" OC) and a plywood subfloor. Most in that era were 2x3 interior walls and particle-board sub-floor. Glad you got a good one!
Sam with those chip Board core storm doors, I would suggest running a bead of silicone on top of bottom trim on door to keep moisture out. They are prone to absorb water and swell causing delamination of outer skin.
Rescuing the cats has the added benefit of critter control around your house. My property used to be a farm field and we had issues with mice until I got a cat. Cats also love to catch voles/moles as well. Just make sure they are fixed or you will have more cats than you want or need. Take care and see you again soon. Hi boys and Angela.
Sam, put a chain on the door in case the wind catches it.. they warp and bust up easily. Angela, a Magic Eraser is the only thing that will clean those storm doors but they make it look new. Great job Sam.
Suggestion..... What if you mounted your muddy shoe rack on the outside of the top rail? Everyone could still reach them from the deck and maybe even reach them from the ground if you needed to. If you did that the mud would drop/wash off and fall onto the ground instead of on the deck. Just an idea I had.
I save all my cardboard boxes for my garden for plants like tomatoes and peppers I use a hole saw I mulch with grass clippings and my garden is virtually weed free When it's time to plant again all the cardboard is composted Great video Sam Keep 'em coming 👍👍👍
I like the door. Love the kittens playing and snuggling. Our yellow kittens are 4 mos and rowdy. They are brothers and so cute, inside only, fixed and can really fire off some stinkers. Thank you for loving your fur babies.
Green Acre is the Best FYI/Homestead vlog on youTube. Why? Who else can combine storm door install with cat farts? I'm laughing...Thanks for a good start to a Monday. Blessings to all...even the cats.
We had one on each of our entry doors on our double wide in Fl….game changer in the nicer weather. I wouldn’t be without them if I could help it! Nice job!
Nice door! And beautiful kittens!! So happy for your family to be here with us in Tennessee! We bought a small mfg home on land as well. We are very happy too. Love your channel Sam and Angela!
Great job and now need one for the front door for extra cross ventilation. There will be so many nice days when windows and doors can be open to allow breezes to blow through the house.
I absolutely love it you guys have made your home so beautiful you guys are good together it’s so good to see married people love each other like yall do tyfs hugs and prayer and much love ❤️
An idea what we did with our storm doors. Switch the screen to the top so the glass slides down. Being you have young kids, the screen can’t be used to push the door open and stretch it out and tear it. That’s what we did and it saved the door for many years of use.
I have screen doors which is real nice in the Spring and Fall in Arizona so we can have air and the cats can sit and look out. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
I always enjoy any video you make, really miss you. Maybe you will be on more often when your new projects start up! I am also looking forward to my new soap I ordered!! Thanks
Looks great! Love it! We have storm doors on front and back they are wonderful in nice weather for the fresh air and the cross breeze! Love your new door. Reminds me I need to replace the screening in both of them and freshen them up with a bit of fresh paint as well. The new puppy our grandson came to show us rather took a toll on the door! arghhhhh LOL Great job Sam! Angela reminded me of myself after my husband does each project I go in and clean up whatever needs done. We also work together on everything that we do. Fifty six years later, still working at things, a bit or lot slower but still DIY'ers! LOL Blessings
Another plus for storm doors is the pocket of dead air they create between it and your main door. It’s like the plastic film you put over your windows.
Looks so good, never new you could add a storm door to a mobile home's back door , that would have been good to know when I lived in one, thanks if I ever live in one again I will have that done.👍
It would look like a new home sitting there when u go somewhere and drive up.. U have everything else new and paint everything to match it ... Or another color 🤔
When we lived in Cali I always wanted glass storm doors. Since we moved (escaped!) I've had 3 storm doors installed & I plan on a forth! Luv my doors! Nice job!
The storm door looks great! The "Three Amigos" Cats are cool too! Have a good week Sam & Angelia! Stay safe but have fun! And as always, I love the out takes reel......
That went well. You know, I've uninstalled a bunch of storm doors but never actually installed one. That storm door should go a long way to protecting your door and floor from water damage. Every home without a porch roof or big overhang could use one.
I love having a storm door on the front door! Even in regular homes they don't install them automatically. We had to add ours. Looking forward to your big tiny adventures!
Never an issue again with bursitis flare ups since stopping those immune supplements. I still have tendon pain with every step, but I can cope with it most days.
You did great on the storm door Sam and Angela you cleaned the window well. 😃 We have a 1988 mobile home that we worked on to make it beautiful inside. We couldn't redo the laundry room like you did. Our back door had to swing out so no storm door. After 7 years we finally were able to have metal roof put on the house and our front and back porches built now I can sit out and listen to the rain on the metal. I can't wait for warm weather so I can go out to read and have my coffee in the mornings. Love to all the family.
You guys are up town ! Everything and that’s saying a lot, y’all have done fantastic job, what a great Accomplishment , well done grasshopper ! Y’all have a wonderful family ! Love the kittens !
You two are just too cute!! This time your outtake got me laffin so hard ! Now I got the hiccups!😂. (Yeah Sam you n that cat). Lots of love to you both😊❤
Never put the screws in the expander on the bottom before you hang the door. If your threshold isn't level, you'll have a gap under the door. Adjust the expander to close the gap if any, THEN put the screws in it. Free tip from a pro door installer.
Good job. It seems like I have always had to work on the spacer to get the latch to work out on the doors I have done. Great job of the video, very well done !

As Sam says,do not squeeze the baby…😢
@@sam-and-angela what are the pipes coming out of the wall?
Sam with those chip Board core storm doors, I would suggest running a bead of silicone on top of bottom trim on door to keep moisture out. They are prone to absorb water and swell causing delamination of outer skin.
They sure don't make'em like they used to. Some of the old aluminum ones lasted 30 yrs of ugly. 🫣
Great advise
We had to cuz when they get qmwer and freeze they expand.

Keep 'em coming 👍👍👍
Awesome! We've been stockpiling a lot of it for our raised beds we'll be doing. Great for mulch!
Screen doors are awesome and make a great addition to any home. Everyone is going to love this.
I like the door. Love the kittens playing and snuggling. Our yellow kittens are 4 mos and rowdy. They are brothers and so cute, inside only, fixed and can really fire off some stinkers. Thank you for loving your fur babies.
You will really like that to keep flies out. and let the air in when you don't need the air conditioner. God bless...Kathy

I'm very impressed Sam a man that actually read the instructions. 😂😂
A storm door makes a house a home. The sun light, the breeze are oh so nice when you can bring it indoors.
Omg. Funniest bloopers yet. Thank you for sharing.
Awww ❤️ kitties, so good of you to take care of them…that’s why we love you guys!
Beautiful precious critters, take care of the Babies… and the gorgeous feral Boys and yourselves, y’all are doing good !!!

That door looks beautiful! The kittens are beautiful too! Good job Sam!
I love storm doors with screens. I love being able to open windows when it's nice out.
It's great to have a screen door 🙂 . Great job Sam.
Nice door! And beautiful kittens!! So happy for your family to be here with us in Tennessee! We bought a small mfg home on land as well. We are very happy too. Love your channel Sam and Angela!
That is awesome!
nice job, do not forget the safety chains, on the top and bottom of the door. In case the wind gets hold of the door.
I can hardly wait to see you install the new siding on the home. It will transform the whole house.
Great job and now need one for the front door for extra cross ventilation. There will be so many nice days when windows and doors can be open to allow breezes to blow through the house.
Did I hear somebody say garden!? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Oh yes!!! We are going to have an "epic garden" this year! We're very very excited about it.
Good seeing you all, to my favorite channel. Have a good day .

It would look like a new home sitting there when u go somewhere and drive up.. U have everything else new and paint everything to match it ... Or another color 🤔
Honestly that's not a bad idea at all! We can't afford siding in the near future, but paint..... Hmmmm. :)

Are you sure Sam's last name isn't MacGyver?? Is there anything that he can't do? Good job!
You are the sweetest couple. Doing life.😃

Looks great, Sam! Here in Iowa storm doors are not optional, they really help keep the heat loss down!
