    Wow, in the US, the Ruger is 30-40% cheaper than the Tikka. That’s nuts it’s the other way around in your market.

      Swings and roundabouts I suppose. No doubt the Tikka is the better rifle but you guys in the US have the benefit of the magazine offer. Both are great rifles, I suppose it is down to personal fit and preference.

    So I got my TAC A1 last Saturday and have yet to try it out at the range. Legally I wasn't able to get the folding stock model so obviously finished up with the fixed stock. Downside, difficult, near impossible to bore sight and cleaning is also a problem having to pass the cleaning rod, patch and chemicals, through the cheek riser. I hope the upsides at the range outweigh the downside.

    • @Shootingintheshires91
      @Shootingintheshires91 Год назад

      Hi Andy. Can I ask why you weren't allowed the folding stock version legally? I was planning on getting this rifle and the folding stock was one of the big selling points for me.....

    • @andymann271
      @andymann271 Год назад

      Hi Sam, the folding stock or any means by which a firearm can be rmore easily concealed is prohibited either by the Firearms Act or the Firearms Regulations in Western Australia. I don't know where you are but talk to your local dealer, they'll know what the rules are for your location. Really nice firearm though I absolutely love it. I fixed the bore sighting problem by drilling a small hole in the buttplate backing and solved the cleaning problem by removing the cheek riser each time I clean it. Some 1500 rounds have gone through it now, brilliant.

    Here in the US: RPR gen 3 = $1399; T3X Tac A1 = $1799 (Cabela's). How/why exactly is the Tikka so much cheaper where you live?

    • @johnathankim6721
      @johnathankim6721 5 лет назад +2

      Wondered the same. Maybe cause Tikka or Sako is from Finland so easier for production and shipping? But then I thought to myself that beretta owns Sako right? So idk.

    • @Gunroomtv
      @Gunroomtv  5 лет назад +1

      We would assume it's because we're within the EU (for now anyway) taxes, import duty and shipping will be lower to the UK than the US.

    • @shootmcrunfast
      @shootmcrunfast 5 лет назад +1

      Remember that you guys get a magazine offer that is very generous on the Tikka. Out of the 2 my preference is for the Tikka over the RPR, it feels far more solid and even given the difference in cost that you guys in the US are seeing I would go for the Tikka.
      I suppose that it is down to that fact that both rifles are not native, the Tikka is just easier and therefore cheaper to import. This is obviously a far more extreme variation than we see in the UK where as you guys in the US are seeing the exact opposite. Out of the 2 I would still go for the Tikka though, it is an exceptional rifle.

      Cant really give an accurate db, but in .308 the break is very effective at taming the recoil, however that does translate to it being quite loud. No worse than any other .308 behind the rifle, but pretty beastly if you stand beside it
