Divergingroute1973 that is not what’s it’s called. The channel is just another name for the gutter. I’ve never heard someone refer to a gutter ball as a channel ball.
4:01 is a washout, as defined by Nelson Burton Jr.(what he calls the “modern” washout)all the others are splits. The usbc doesn’t know what there talking about when it comes to the washout. There are conflicting definitions of the washout!, but I going by what’s provided by pba.com. You can say it isn’t, but it doesn’t change the fact that it can be a split.
No. In order to leave that combination of pins your ball would not only have to deflect completely into the gutter when it hits, but all the pins would have to go immediately into the gutter instead of backward, which is virtually impossible.
My cousin left that when he was like 4 years old. The back row was left standing because the ball came to a stop before it got that far. As for making it, I’ve seen a 7-8-9 conversion, where the ball clipped the right side of the 9 pin and they fell over like dominoes. It’d probably be slightly easier if the 10 pin was also standing because the ball could bounce (slightly) off the 10 pin and hit the 9 pin on an angle that probably can’t be attained straight up by someone who would leave a 7-8-9 to begin with!
Actually yes it is. It’s kind of like the 7 10 but you have more space to slide the one pin you hit into the other pin and the space between the pins are shorter
All combinations in the video are splits except the ones where the headpin is standing.. those are washouts
Thank you. 1-2-4-10 is a Washout not a split.
I have got some of these spilts

3:27 wasn't a split. It was a washout.
But who cares
T _cringe I care
WitheredForce4 Me too. Any gap of pins with the head pin in it, is a washout, not a split.
Also, it’s a channel ball, not a gutter ball.

Someone told me they made a 7-8-9-10. I call BS,is that even possible to leave?

AlligatorArms it’s different when a bowler is younger since they can’t throw it nearly as fast and they are using very light equipment.

A 3-4 split is not a huge conversion.
