To get big carrots you need to give them a bit of space by thinning.

I had no idea carrots needed to be thinned out like this; I'm learning so much from your channel I just started gardening the last couple years and I wish I was recommended your channel sooner I would have avoided a lot of mistakes and dead plants! 😅

Another east way to get carrots spaced a bit apart is to use pelleted seed. Baker Creek Seeds has several varieties available this way. The individual carrot seeds are in a little ball of white clay about the size of a BB. Makes it easy to grab them and plant them spaced a bit apart.
Also you can plant carrots without thinning if you just scatter the seeds. If they come up about 1/2 inch apart or so you will get a similar amount of carrots from a space as you will from thinning them. (Assuming good soil and adequate water) I like bigger carrots for cooking.
