Fall garlic planting

If you want good sized garlic you need to plant it in the fall. Always plant it so that the pointed tip end is pointing up and the root end is pointing down.

To get big carrots you need to give them a bit of space by thinning.

Try to get the carrots about an inch to two inches apart in the row so carrots can grow bigger. If you plant in double rows the tops will shield the ground from sunlight in between to minimize weeds.
Planting Koral Carrots using intensive spacing and radishes to mark the rows

This is a way to plant carrots I have used for decades. Plant rows about 4 to 5 inches apart. Thin carrots to about 2 to 4 inches apart. I like to plant at least 2 rows at a time about every two weeks in the spring to have a staggered continuous crop of fresh carrots for eating and juicing. Plant potatoes in loose well drained soil in rows about 10 to 12 inches apart. Potatoes need lots of nitrogen in the early stages so plant in good fertile soil for best results. The mulch will break down to half t...
