Great video Bob. My ex was a big gardener, and I was the labor on the potatoes. Ours went in the ground and had to be banked. These days I buy Magic Mollies (purple) from the Matanuska Valley at the local farmers' market. I'm just about done with the 50 lbs. I bought last fall. Glad to see you're growing the All Blues.
Hey Pat, Thanks for watching and the comment. My first attempt at the Blue potatoes. If we can get some the size that we planted I will be happy. They looked he perfect size for baking whole. What zone is Matanuska Valley ?
@@thehippiegardener It's somewhere in the 3b to 4b range as best I can tell. Root vegetables due very well, as do all of the cabbage derivatives. Tomatoes and peppers have to be grown indoors, and apples will grow here, but not very large. I live in the mountains, so carrots, lettuce, and spinach are about it for me. I have a raspberry forest, but I have to spray them to keep the moose at bay. Last year they were late, and an early snow took them out. Such is life in the far north.
This is awesome timing, I am just about to plant my potatoes so this information really helped me out. I am planting rocket which is an early variety. Just subscribed, great video.

I’m planning to get some spuds in the ground this weekend if all goes as planned. Thanks for the video and the reminder to get them going.
You bet! Best to you for this year's garden!
