Exploring Nature and Giving Back: Canoe Camping and River Clean Up with my Son

- Join me and my 5-year-old son on his first ever canoe camping experience on the beautiful River Wye. We started from Symonds Yat and ran some rapids, covering approximately 14km before finishing in Redbrook. Despite some stiff headwinds, we had a wonderful time together, discovering wild plums and blackberries along the way.
Our campsite was a beauty spot right on the edge of the river, where we cooked our food over a small fire, roasted marshmallows, and enjoyed a restful night under the stars.
But this trip was more than just a fun adventure. We also made a positive impact on the environment by doing a lot of rubbish collecting along the river. Together, we managed to take out a significant amount of plastic bottles, broken glass, bags, plastics, a sock, a car tire, and even a 5m+ PVC pipe. This was one of the most rewarding aspects of our trip, and we hope to inspire others to join us in making a difference.
Let's be a positive ripple for the world! Together, we can change the tide and build a greener, purer earth. Thank you for watching, and we'll see you on the next adventure.
ATB,
Eze & Itai

You evidently chose to ignore the very clear signage that states "Private Land. Please no stopping or mooring" where you camped.....
Hi Hannah. Firstly, there was no signage at all where we camped. It was part of the river bank and it was not on private property. Secondly, not sure if you actually watched the whole video, but we spent most of our time on the river cleaning it up and picking up TONS of rubbish - including a car tyre and a 5m+ PVC pipe. We need to stimulate and encourage positive behaviour... I'm proud of what we did and left the place in a much better state than it was before we came. That sort of rubbish clean up operation would have been very difficult without having an overnight camp in the middle, some areas where we collected rubbish from are totally inaccessible by foot. All a matter of perspective I guess....
Wow, what a great shame that all you see in this beautiful film is a negative!!
This man and his son are acting in not only a leave no trace policy but a leave it better one. I understand that some people are not as responsible and leave a mess which must be horrible for land owners but guys like Eze and myself do our best to make it right. Please don't criticize the good people of the world that are willing to put the effort in and teach his children to do the same. I didn't see any signage and no-one else was picking up the rubbish either!
Well done as always Eze.👊👊
"Who ordained that a few should have the land of Britain as a perquisite; who made ten thousand people owners of the soil and the rest of us trespassers in the land of our birth?" David Lloyd George. Surely the most sensible prime Minister we've ever had. How many others would do as this principled, kind soul and his son would do and pick up other people's detritus? Not many I'd wager. To sleep on the soil of our beautiful earth is NOT A crime. We're all caretakers of this earth, that lesson is very hard learnt by some.
@@bushmonkey877 POSITIVITY FOR THE WIN!!! We'll continue to lead by example. 👊
@@MrAndyballard Beautiful words mate ! I hear you and I'm with you 100% brother!
That my friend was a great video, in fact one of the best. 👍🏼
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words & continued support ❤️
Beautiful adventure with your son whilst teaching him how to look after and appreciate Mother Earth ❤
Thank you, totally that's what it's all about!! Thanks!!
To see nature and have adventrea through a childs eyes is truly a special thing. 😊
Couldn't agree more!! Really special to live it through their unfiltered eyes!!
Inspirational man. You and your son set an example for everyone to follow. Enjoying life, enjoying nature and making the world a better place!
Awesome! Thank you so much my friend, Itai and I appreciate it!!
Much love and thanks for watching!!
What an absolutely heart warming video! You must be so proud and so you should!
The way your bringing that lad up and teaching him valuable life skills and how to respect the environment and nature is just perfect! Well done my friend!
Dad goals!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that!! Hope you're enjoying the weather at the moment and not overheating too much!!
More people should interact with their kids, it would be a better world. My Son and I used to boat all the time and pick up trash. My Son is 40 now and a Chief Engineer on a U. S. Navy ship.
Nice video......
Sam from NE USA Quincy, Massachusetts.
SAM! Thanks my friend for watching and commenting and welcome to the channel :-) !
It really is wonderful to spend quality time like that with kids. I think with today’s way of life, it’s harder for kids to really engage in what they are doing and also to find mutual activities that are fun for both parents AND kids! But I find whenever we go back to basics and out old primitive ways of travel, foraging, fire lighting - it ALL COMES back! It’s like we are still wired that way, and it’s a wonderful way to establish great values and life lessons with no arithmetic, no books, no technical analysis.
You must be a very proud dad indeed!
Keep on adventuring buddy and much love,
Eze
What a great dad you are. Bringing up anew generation of humans who will care for our planet. Thank you Eze
Thank you for the super generous words!!
Eze, Thank you so much for sharing your adventure.
Please please continue to take your son on many adventures. He will remember them all of his life.
It is clear that whatever you are doing in raising him, you are doing it correctly. He is a happy, polite and eager young man.
Thank you also for taking the time to pick up rubbish. I'm sure many of us could take a leaf out of your (and your son's) book.
Long may your adventures continue.
WOW - Thanks SO much for the beautiful words - they are really being felt. He is SO EAGER! It's our pleasure to do that, and even more so to know we are inspiring even ONE person to do the same. We can make a BIG difference if we work together.
Amen to the adventures continuing bud!
Your son is amazing. He is so positive with a lovely attitude. How sad people leave their litter like that and thank you both for clearing it up. Great video!
You are so kind! He really is amazing and I couldn't be prouder of him 😀! Don't worry about those people, we can put BIG CHANGE in motion, together. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic! Some great lessons for your son and he will remember this for the rest of his life.
Thanks Paul , totally agree! V few things beat this kind of bonding experience
Thank you for both the film and what you have done...........
You're very welcome! Glad you liked it!!
I doff my cap to you mate, excellent to see the young ones getting involved. Good to see some quality content coming from the Wye its not as prevalent as it should be
Thanks so much buddy!! Yeah exactly, if we can instil this at a young age, they will lead the world into a better place!! The Wye is so so beautiful and needs to be cared and nurtured for accordingly!! Thanks for watching !!
@@WyeExplorer TLDR, I comment and interact with content I enjoy. My absence from your channel has no bearing on my appreciation of the Wye or the efforts of this creator. Perhaps you should concentrate at working on your vibrations as a comment on an unrelated channel to yours seems to have struck a nerve.
@@WyeExplorer I do not require your respect. I will state one last time for clarity. Who I watch, when I watch it and for what reasons I watch are of zero concern to you. I or youtube for that matter owe you nothing. I find you to be spiteful and demanding, the fact you have again hijacked the comments section to profess some sort of hier apparent status of the wye and all who use her shows the narcissist that resides with in you. I congratulated a father and son on a very commendable vid and I apologise to him for the subsequent thread. I will now sit back and watch you delete your comments as usual.
@@WyeExplorer the reason I distanced myself from you was down to the accusations levied against myself and others way back when. I'm harsh in my responses as I do not want my thoughts twisted or mis interpreted. I have not engaged with you in any way until you have seen fit to grade my comments and attribute motive. I'll stay in my little corner of the platform and hope you can do the same. I harbour no I'll will toward you but I will not be told how I should act by anyone. Good day
Love your video ❤ perfect 😊 Bless you..
You are so kind thanks so much and bless you too!
Inspirational. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching! Makes me so happy to hear that
Wonderful! My heart is full😍My boys are now 25/28 and it reminds me greatly of that beautiful age... KTF🙏
Aaaah how wonderful to hear!! Itai (my son) absolutely LOVED this trip - made my heart full too!! ATVB, Eze.
Superb video Eze!
What a wonderful boy you have, you must be very proud. He will remember his adventures for a long time and if all dad's were like you we wouldnt have the litter problems we have today.
Take care my friend, Paul.
Thanks so much for the very kind words Paul!!! I definitely have my downsides as a dad too - maybe they don't show on camera haha - we are all trying our best! We can make a big difference to our planet if we act together.
I just got back from Glen Affric....
... WOW!!!

Another awesome video! I bet your son will never forget this great adventure with his dad. He certainly looked like he was having a brilliant time and learned some life skills.
Thanks Timsy totally agree - he had an absolutely amazing time and that's the main goal: establish solid values: work ethic, not giving up, cleaning the planet. Hopefully he'll go back to those basics when he finds himself lost. I'm glad you enjoyed it buddy!

Thanks man for taking away other peoples crap, I take bags with me and pick up loads of rubbish that idiots leave behind. You asked me about hikes in the Brecons, check out our reservois across talybont and further west, they don't disappoint! Peace

Well said buddy! They definitely are the future, and we gotta go more left field nowadays in search for the true and important values of life than we want to instil on our kids. Conventional methods aren't working! I look forward to our paths crossing - ATB, Eze.
Very inspiring thanks for sharing
Thanks bud!
Great vid that mate u got a good lad there he’s goin to make a great adventurer keep it up 👊
Thanks so much buddy!! He really is an incredible kid - he doesn't want to stop and loves the outdoors - he's going to make a killer adventurer!!! Much love! Eze

Truly lost for wards 👍
THANKS BUDDY!!!
Liking your adventures and filming .I woukd love to do this with my son .but first I think it would be good to do with a friend. To see what it is like .can I ask how you plan were to start and finish plus we're to camp with your son .
Dear Eze, I have only subscribed lately and am really enjoying all your past videos and the more recent ones. I admire your dedication and try to apply 'leave no trace and make it better' whenever and wherever I hike. So, I was wandering about your son's name - Itai, and how you came to choose it. Also, even though Eze is short for Ezekiel (?) in my language it means 'what a...'. What a heck of a guy you are.
Hi Thanks for watching and commenting !Glad you like the videos and it's very heart warming to hear you are applying the leave it better philosophy! You too will inspire others , and the effect can be hugely exponential! We are jewish and we love the name Itai! I know there are tons of those in Israel! Is that where you're from? All the best and SHALOM!
Beautiful
Thank you!!!
Hi! I am planning this end of the month, and I love that you have inspired us to clean the river as we pass... A sign of respect and appreciation... Could you tell me how you picked your stops? I plan on 4 days so 3 nights?
Hey buddy that makes me very happy to hear, we can continue to inspire each other in a positive way. Your actions will inspire someone else too and so we can start a huge wave from a tiny ripple! I just found natural spots as I went, make sure not to camp in any private land though! Enjoy your trip mate, you'll love it!
@@EzeAdventurer the boat hire company has said no wild camping, that's kind of made me a bit uneasy. Will it be obvious which areas are private?
@@f04107180 hmmmm not so obvious... it's a tough one buddy, if in doubt maybe use camp sites?
Great adventure something the kiddo will remember.
It's such a shame that wild camping is illegal in this country. It really shows how restricted we are as a nation. Everyone should have the right in life to do this.
Hi mate couldn’t agree more. We spend so much money on ineffective government programmes to treat mental illness and other stuff - if only we promoted being outdoors a bit more and reconnecting with Mother Nature …
Lovely G wagon, what kind of drugs are you selling?😂 love the videos keep them up
HAHAHAHAH!!! Thanks buddy glad you enjoyed it, will keep them coming bro!
Nice
Thanks!
