Just a head's up, Catherine; the sound during the opening animation was quite loud this time. I don't make videos, so I have no idea what might have caused it. Just wanted to let you know.
This is really amazing, I hope you continue to do such informative videos of how to create products
Thank you 😊 🇦🇺

Great Video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Thank you for giving out so much information!! A lot of online business owners don’t really share their tips and secrets, which is understandable, but you’re always so generous with your knowledge!
I really hope you managed to getsome value from it!

Would you consider making a enamel pin video? How you prep whatever design to send off and everything? :)
I've been considering doing this for a long time so this video is very timely
heheh its a siggggnnn!
Mugs are pretty expensive to ship because they're actually pretty heavy and fragile. Take that into consideration.
@@perigosu8449 thanks for the advice! I’ve found decent rates to the US using Chit Chats. ( Just in case this helps any Canadian sellers/ potential sellers)
@@MelissaBennett are you in the US? You might get away with shipping your mugs first class if you don't do any sort of box (which significantly increases the chance of it breaking). Sadly, with a box and even minimal bubble wrap, 11oz mug weighs over 15 oz (16.5 oz is the best I managed). That would bump you up to priority which could be as high as $11 across the country (with etsy/shopify discounts). Might be cheaper if you're somewhere in the middle (I'm in cali so shipping to east coast is expensive).
Experiment with different blank mugs. Some might be lighter than others... I've only tried 1 brand so far. Thinner cardboard box might cut some weight too but you risk damaging during shipping (same as the flat rate envelope or first class without a box which make it right around 15oz)
All that said, mugs do sell... just don't expect it to pay all the bills unless you're selling hundreds every day. Best advice is to sell a set (3-4). That way you can ship them in a flat rate box and make a decent profit (and even offer free shipping).
Thank you for the video. Your teaching style is great. I’ve been binge watching you for a couple of weeks now and find your video style comforting and makes me smile. Thank you for sharing all you do.
Not something i would want to do, but you are so thoughtful to offer this business information to people who are looking for this type of business venture. PS i still watched and enjoyed the video cause i enjoy your videos! :) xx
I literally just purchased my first sublimation printer, so this video comes in so handy! 🥰
Do you have a link to where you got it. I have been looking for one.
I have been looking for tutorials like this and yours appeared on my search results and it's like a complete package! Thank you so very much for this video. I am now a subscriber. ♥️
I used to work in a print shop, and I used to clean for a different print shop - even the professionals have misprints and other issues. It's just part of the gig.
Rainy weather outside, sipping hot choc from my mug, watching you make mugs ... ah ... you make me so happy. Thanks for a great tutorial, you da best 🥰💕
Us English people don't mind sharing and explaining, and show detail, well done girl, first time finding your page.
Thank you for sharing the things you know, all I've learned from you is a treasure!

Hello Katnip. I have been following you since 2016 and I love everything about your work. It's so relaxing every time I see you enjoying the things you love which is creating designs, stickers and mugs. You are one of the people that inspires me to be creative in many ways. I am very happy and proud of all your achievements. More blessings to you all ☺️ Sending you love from Canada ❤️
Hey! I absolutely love your videos and your work! I would love to have my own studio one day. Wishful thinking 🤣 You are such an inspiration to me 💕 Keep making us smile Catherine xx
hehe oh my goodness thank you so so much!
This was a wonderfully informative video. Also, all this pink and lavender is making me sooo happy 💗💜💗💜
Just a tip, if you save the Epson eco tank ink bottles, the tops come off with a firm twist and you don’t have to inject it in if you just refill the bottles! 😊
Ohh I'm so happy that you did this video!! You were my motivation to try sublimation! I remember zooming in your videos to see what you were using as tool for mug Sublimation xP
Now, I use the epson WorkForce WF-7720 - I could find one of these for a very low price! I wanted this printer because I knew I could switch between normal inks and sublimation inks.
I have this freesub machine and it's a really good machine. You can find it for a good price on Amazon canada! I didn't know about the warm water trick :O I'm going to try that for sure!
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and tricks! 🤓
Me: not planning to print mugs anytime soon
Still me: watches anyway cause it’s Katnipp 🥰
Exactly. Me, too. LOL! 👍🏼
heheh oh my gosh you guys are da fricken best!
This is perfect timing I bought my sublimation printer last week but it’s still in the box till I get my mugs and other supplies!!!!!! Thank you!😍❤️
Omg, I’ve been looking at videos for this and have been very inspired your products. This video is so timely!!
This is random but your makeup always looks SO good...have you ever thought about doing a get ready with me/tutorial type video on your personal channel? I’d love to see that!
I thank you soo much for your videos!! I just know you from instagram until now. Im so glad to found your RUclips channel too now ❤️
Oh sis you are so colorful and I love that and you are very talented. Keep up the good work.
the warm water is a great tip
Did you try the cactus wraps + oven method? A friend of mine suggested it, it seems you can get very close to the handle, in fact you are required to touch the handle with both sides of the paper before block it with tape and then with cactus wrap (which has to be tightened with a screwdriver before baking). I know the process is probably slower than your press but in the oven you can bake many cups at one time so, at the end, I guess the numeric result should be about the same :-)
So glad I found you! Have you any tips on latte style mugs, they are driving me mad!! just can't get them right.
This is such a cool process💗 ily💕
heheh Love ya more Sophie!
That was really helpful thank you, btw ur so cute machallah ❤️
Yes thank you I want to get into doing mugs I loved that you did a video like this 😀 I just loved the way you explained it so easy to follow.
This is very informative 🥰 thank you so much
no one:
me: watching this even though I know I’m never going to actually do it

Haha same😂
hahahahah :') thank you so so much!
I looooooved this video! I felt like I was at Katnipp School 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
Thank you for the French subtitles! 😘🙏🙏🙏
I did my first sub mug the other day!
I’m just waiting on an updated ICC for Big Sur to tweak my colours, then I’ll be smashing them!
heheh YAYYY! Oh mancolour profiles are so annoying lol :') bane of my sublimation life haha xxx
I loved your disclaimer at the end 😂
Sublimation is like magic - there’s so much trial and error
Don’t do it unless you’re prepared to throw away a million mugs getting your settings right 😂
I no interesting in sublimation stuff, I just love your videos 💜🥰.
It was very interesting and a lot could be learned from the video.
Thank you so much for sharing! This was a perfect tutorial for someone itching to get into the mug life!
Your page is stunning 🤩
What do you do with the mugs that goof?? Also...This video came on after “how to adjust photos on the Sprocket printer” and I have no intention of printing mugs but it was nice to watch... love your accent. I’m American so it’s different from here.
I'll be investing in sublimation this year so this is perfect 🥰🥰
Hey fellow E.H patron 👋
@@PolkaDotPearle eheheh yellow 🥰
Thank you so mych for this video! I remember you used the et 2711 before, do you think it was OK? :)
@@aPenasIllustrator It did the trick and was absolutely fine! But we needed a printer that was much faster and also it died in the end cause we print so much lol :') But its perfectly fine for a beginner!
@@KatnippStudios Awesome, thank you so much! I was just on my way to buying it so I just wanted to be sure lol. Thanks for the fast response 💛
Very helpful, thank you !
Did you have a link to the cup supplier or did I miss that part. And how warm is the water you use to submerge the cups post sublimation. I live all your videos. They are the bright spot in my day. You are an inspiration.
Thank you for posting this ✊🏾
Thank you !!!
Wow, thank you so much! What a great video!
Thank you x
I've bought the mug press twice and has issues with it not printing evenly :( so gutted! Love this video though, really well explained! Xxx
Soooooooo helpful! I just made my first mug! :)
"I'm going to get the paper cutter" Paper guillotine enters the chat * shing *
Such a great video! Thank you!
This is such a helpful video - thank you! I was wondering if you had any tips for colors turning out super faded or blacks looking like browns after the press? I am new to sublimation and I am having a hard time troubleshooting!
Love the studiooo
wow!! this is actually super helpful. i'm planning to make mugs for gifting friends. thank you katnipp
heheh your more than welcome
Super awesome process. Definitely inspirational! (:
Is the current machine you use a good one then? I've seen in previous videos you used others, so which overall is the best?
Thank you so much for the video!
Love this! Thank you!
I’ve been wanting to do this for quite a while, but I’m waiting to get a bigger space so I can get a mug press hehe.
Ps. We want to see the dead mug. (Rip muggie).
How long would the mugs last before the color starts fading from putting it in the dishwasher? I bought a mug from Society6 and someone on Etsy before and it started fading very quickly. Thank you for your help!
I'd suggest hand washing your mugs in the future, they might not be dishwasher safe. My cousin got me a mug for Christmas and I didn't realise it wasn't dishwasher safe til half of it was faded off 🥺
It probably wasn't sublimation or a cheap mug with bad coating. Quality sublimated mugs will never fade or scratch off.
Love this so much! I'm starting to press mugs, but I'm afraid to ship them due to breakage. Do you have any tips?
Yes the video was really informative 👏👌👍I am having a problem with putting words on my cups like example. If I go to write then print a name Marcus it's coming out thicker in size to the original font used....thats after it printed, what can I do to stop that....
Fascinating!
Thank you great video.
Hey thanks so much for this, I have just started doing sublimation and weirdly have the exact same equipment you do! When I got the inks and paper from ink experts they said to use an ICC profile, but they don't offer one for mac. Do you use an ICC? I'm not 100% sure what it is, but I believe it has something to do with the colours the printer prints. Love following your business journey, and you have inspired me to pursue my own
Did not click to learn. I clicked to support.
Thank you so so much
Hey, Ive got a question about the printer, Is it any printer you are using? Do you use different type of ink when I comes to printing?
👋Hiya, really appreciate this information. Thank you. 😊
Your more than welcome
Absolutely nothing to do with the actual content, but I LOVE the lighting and colours of your new office! You are glowing amongst it💕
heheh oh my goodness tysm hehe
Hey great video. What issues exactly did you have using the convection oven. I’ve read a lot only people seem to have better results with a convection oven over a press due to the fact that you can do full mug wraps and temps seem to be more consistent. Would be good to get your opinion
Would you mind sharing where you purchase your sublimation mug blanks from? Thanks Catherine! I love watching your videos - so helpful and fun!!
I don't share my manufacturers anymore Im so sorry! We actually had a supplier problem at christmas!
Thank you so much for this video! Can I ask if you use an ICC profile or just standard settings?
You mentioned that you used to inject cartridges with sublimation ink, and put those in your Epsom printer - I have a Canon printer, is there anyway to use sublimation inks in it without messing up the printer? Can you buy empty cartridges that are compatible with Canon and just fill it with the sublimation ink?
This video was super helpful btw!! Thankyou so much!!
You're extra pretty today! 🥰❤
Could you do what’s on you phone video? love your videos
I have recently purchased an Epson Ecotank for sublimation and I was wondering if you use an ICC Profile for your printer or just the normal printer settings as shown here?
Hello! I know this video is a while back.. but how do you get a transparent background? I put my art at png with no background but when it prints there is a background and not white
Thank you for this video! It was very helpful, I have a question; I am using a heat press for 11oz, and I been wanted to try pressing 13oz, do you know if I can use the same press or do I have to buy a different one?
Thanks for this great video. Sorry I'm not sure if you've mentioned it but do you use ICC profile with your epson printer or do you print just as normal?
Do you load your paper in the middle of the feed tray?
Thank you!
You're more than welcome!
question: is there anyway you can not have the title of your video auto-translated?? The translations really suck. In swedish this titel now says How you printing out mugs with sublimation. And they used the wrong form of printing ontop of that. So really bad in swedish . So if there is a way to not auto translate the title is it possible to do it?? I understand that some people like the texting option on the video and don't know if the titel then also auto translate?
:') Oh gosh the only way I would be able to do it is if I hired different language translators :') cause i dont know how to speak swedish, I might convert it back to english, then just keep the auto translated captions on? :') I literally spent ages doing this too haha oopsie :')
@@KatnippStudios oh sorry!! :D It's just the auto translation of titles are 99% horrible. I never have texting on for videos so no clue how bad they are. yes, if you can have the title still in english that would be awesome. .. and I could teach you some Swedish but then you'll have all the other languages too :P maybe a challenge for 2022, how many languages can you learn in a year :D
Where do you buy your mugs
Hello!! Somebody could help me? I would like to know what is the cost of a mug like this in the American market? They would help me a lot with your answer, thanks ❤️
Can I know the name od printer plz?
what do you do with the ruined mugs?
I’ve been having issues for ages with sublimation for my bookmarks! All of a sudden it decides it wants to splat ink everywhere! Sometimes I hate sublimation! 😩 just so many issues with it I find. And forever getting the error messages of it not recognising the cartridges grrrrrr
Thank you for the great video. So can you not use your epson 7750 for normal prints any more because you use it for sublimation inks?
nope! you would have to have a seperate printer, because they are installed with sublimation inks which print faded and are no good for artwork
@@KatnippStudios thank you! That really helps me make a decision.
It’s such a satisfying process, I love it!!☺️ how do you make sure your designs don’t bleed on the bottom or top of the mug. I have found that if my design was the exact same as yours, the bottom centimetre or so would be blurry. Do you know how to stop this? Thank you in advance xx
Sometimes that can be due to your supplier of mugs! We had this before with one supplier!
Awhh really? I use signzworld. Have you used them before xx
Lily - try preheating your mug it will help with the blurring at the bottom
@@Sarah-em2tl thank you!! I’ve done this and applied heavy pressure (medium was recommended) and it’s worked amazing. Thank you ☺️
Thank you for sharing! I have just started watching your videos and love your energy! Curious if you would mind sharing if you have considered drop shipping. I know you sell a lot of inventory and have additional help just wondered if you considered this and wouldn’t mind sharing why perhaps you didn’t go that route? I’m starting a business soon and this is something that I’m stuck at. Which way of providing my goods. Either making & shipping myself or drop shipping them. Thanks for considering! Sending 💗
one thing I really really struggle with is getting my image in the correct place!
please please please do a video about how to get our art off the ipad and on to the computer. im stuck at how to do that
Do you have a mac? If so you can just airdrop it!
@@KatnippStudios no thats the problem lol i dont
@@kyleesymes1568 use google drive :)
If I had those. hi I am from india
Hi! I sent you guys a message back in November through your Etsy shop asking about Gingie Mugs, I got a reply saying you will have some in your shop the following week but I’m still waiting 😢.
Oh my goodness, we ending up creating little nutcracker mugs instead Im so so sorry my lovely! It was completely crazy over xmas haha
