First song I learned on bass
🤘🏼💥🤘🏼
My head was blown when I first heard this bass line! Jim used to to just attack the bass the way he played! I watch the live bring out your dead video the other day and you can see him just jamming!!👏🏻👏🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Slappin da bass
I was gonna say fucking legend then I saw who wrote the comment 😂
Very cool we would love to hear paperwalls
Thanks Zac!
@@jakekiley4264 You bet !
agree,that would be great
This album takes me right back to 1997 sitting on the beach in Australia. Simpler times...better times.
That’s awesome dude! Good times for sure!🍻
Your string plucking has been one of my biggest influences on my playing for over 10 years. Keep it fresh Jake!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
That’s killer to hear!! Always do lots of alternating exercises with a metronome!
Watch out for those pick wranglers !
🐈⬛ 💨
Pretty pumped to see the show on March 27th in Reading! Glad you guys are still ripping. Keeps getting better and better. Ill never forget the first song i heard of yours.... Broken-Another Day In Paradise in my buddy Jon's car... I listened to it like 10x in a row. Went directly to the mall and bought the album... still my favorite band today.
Really faster ...is a great song ...i love that album ...yeah !!!!
I just learned about Strung Out through Tom DeLonge about two months ago and it's easily become one of my favorite bands. Thanks for uploading playthroughs, it makes it way easier to learn these songs.
Jake, you're the best! This album came out at a time when knowledge was limited to if you owned the liner notes and these videos were affirmation for us 90s kids
25 years already damn we’re get old brother. Haha. Been listening since about 1994-95. You guys have the cleanest guitar riffs. Keep spankin the plank. And many more good years ahead.
Thanks Cru from Jake's mom!
I'm so ready to see you guys at SOMA! Awesome play through as well. I'd love a video where you show off your different guitars, you've got some unique beautiful ones.
Thank you I’ll do that!
I started playing my octives the same way after I saw you guys for the 1st time funny you say it seemed like another lifetime the 1st show I saw you were touring on suburban it had just came out and i saw you at the Barn in Riverside with 30 foot fall , when i started doing them with the pinky and index it felt more comfortable and I use Rob's technique with my thumb inder the fretboard also comfortable my son who also plays guitar couldn't figure out why i played that way i simply told him playing should be comfortable with little to no effort your hand should never be in pain especially when your playing live he never thought it was weird after that !!!!!
That’s awesome Donald, yea it really helps the hand fall right into place with no strain, and also keeps the strings from being pulled sharp as easily as if you use the first and third fingers. I also use the same fingering for Root/5th 2 string power chords.
Thanks Jake! This was the first Strung Out song I heard and was hooked ever since. Jim with the opening bass line blew me away. Got to see him play with you guys and pulley! And loved his zero down album too, definitely missed.Chris is ok I guess🤔(just kidding Chris)Never missed a show here in Florida. Liked the chat at the end and clearing up you play your slit with your pinkie! Hearing the simplicity in this song really reflects your progression as guitarist and as a band! Hats off! Love it, keep jamming and posting. I will tell some strung out concert stories 🤣🤣😵💫🥴🤕🤕🤢🤮🤙🏻🤙🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Alex!
Thank you so much for this Jake! This made it so much easier to learn, way faster than looking at half-accurate tabs on the internet.
Awesome Jason glad to hear it helps! Email me if you ever want to set up a Skype lesson to learn more🍻 jake@strungout.com
Fantabulous. That's my son !
❤️
This is a great cover! Good job 👍👍👍
Cheers from Brasil man!!
Obrigado!
Legend!
Love it, man. Been listening to Strung Out for close to 20 years now. Would you mind going thru the solo for everyday?
Looking good bro, and sounding great. You guys have become one of my favorite bands within the last several years.
I had STWB and ADIP on constant repeat throughout high school. Thanks for starting this channel. I just coincidentally picked up a guitar. I think if I drop this to 1/10 speed I can follow along. lol
Hell yea Brian! Building the songs up to speed with a metronome is the key!🍻🤘🏼
Bad ass is what I think they call it.
Thank you Jake! One of my favorite songs
That’s great to hear Danu!
You guys played a show in Tacoma Washington on this tour when the album came out. I think Hi Standard opened. I was 12. I managed to get out of the house on a school night and came early with the sound tech for sound check. I was a huge fan and had been playing guitar for around 2-3 years. Anyway, I walked over to you after sound check and you let me play some riffs for you on your guitar. On top of that you guys just preformed your asses off like it was nothing and to this day that was the best concert experience I ever had. Just a magical moment. After the show all the drummers in the parking lot where arguing about the different ways they thought Jordan had to be cheating. Lol no one could believe how hard you guys came to are town and fucked everyone up! Best show of my life.
Hi. That's my son, Jake !
This is so much of the guitar work it makes me wonder what Rob is playing.
You should really make a video of her name in blood! Im sure a lot of us would really enjoy it. It has so many great riffs.
25 years! Damn I am old.
Good shit thanks Jake, love the vids mate. Happy 25th STWB - a firecracker of an album.
Cheers Ben!🍻
Amazing! I love the mix of technics and sounds that You extract off the guitar. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Punk rock at its finest 🤘 #jaketheboss
Stoked you’re doing these play throughs! What amps were you guys playing back then?
Jake had his own bright blue Marshall amp then. Now he has a EVH amp which Eddy gifted him !
Would love to hear somnombulance Thanks!!
Can you do Rebels and Saints? I really need a good look at that solo.
Yea man thanks for the request!
Right on, thanks for the play through and for the commentary afterwards. I like how you touched up the ding on your headstock with blood red. Do you still have your Jackson Wolbers signature guitars? Another one here greeting you from Russia.
Thank you Jonas! No unfortunately those have been lost, would love to get another one day!

Thanks Adrian! Yea man for sure, email me at jake@strungout.com
dude, What type of Pick do you use And how come you didn't break a string? you play like very hard, i always break my guitar strings
I use a 88MM Tortex pick, I prefer the more resistance they give compared to the 73. Haha I break strings from time to time, using a thicker gauge string can help, we use D’addario NYXL 10-52s, I’ve gone 7 shows on one set before.

Is there a special tuning?
We’ll we tuned DGCFAD to record it, but it always sounds slightly sharper so I don’t know it might have gotten shifted in mastering🤷🏼♂️
This guy is good but he's no Rob Ramos. lol
You are correct I’m an entirely different person
