Absolutely lovely and inspiring. Can't wait to gel print. Many talented crafters show us how to make prints but I always feel let down when they don't show us how to incorporate gel prints in card making. So THANK YOU VERY MUCH for showing us these beautiful gel prints in your completed card projects. I always enjoy and learn from your videos.
Thank you! I was feeling down and uninspired when I saw this video and thought it wouldn't be too much work to use my mini ink pads and small gel plate. What fun!
I got a new set of gel plates for Christmas, after watching this I cannot wait to try them! These are gorgeous, especially the weaving ones!!! Thank you for the tips!
Gerry, you continue to amaze me! I really appreciate the way you extend your talent to maximum use of products. Here, I am referring to the Gelli Plate. You are one of the few , if only, card makers at this writing who include the Gel printing In their skills for You Tube. I accidentally discovered gel printing recently, and when I bought my Gelli, I wondered if distress inks would work. Now, after watching this video, I want some Tim Holtz stencils, too! Thank you!
Thank you so much I really really love 💕 your prints and cards, it’s really really stunning and gorgeous too and I have really have learnt a lot of interesting things.
Thanks Cass💕 how cool, they are so much fun, you are going to love it! I think I even may have a playlist, can’t check that right now, just let me know if you are interested, then I will look it up for you tomorrow😘
@@GerrysCraftRoom hi Gerry! I found the playlist and had time to watch one more. Awesome tags! Thanks for your message and directing me! You are incredibly creative!
Wow love what you did with the distress oxides I have recently got a gelli and wanted to try with this all’s I’ve seen was with acrylic paints thank you
thanks💕if you like more Gel Plate inspiration, I have some other products used on the plate too: ruclips.net/p/PLHNip46yzH6c_0pFVq2hy_XbFXpyI0M8G Have fun watching💖
Jane Starling thanks💖yes I think you should😁💕you’re so goofy, try saying that 5 times fast😂😘💖 ps when you hear me laughing or grinning when saying something, it’s often because I already said it like 10 times🤣
@@GerrysCraftRoom I'm planning on having a play tomorrow. Hopefully the alcohol inks from today will have worn off by then 🤣 I had trouble saying it once, I don't envy you having to keep repeating it. 💟🤣😜
Jane Starling great💕I have something that works for cleaning off the alcohol ink, doing the dishes by hand (best is from a large household😁) Well the thing with the text is, I do write it myself so I always can adjust if I can’t get it out, except for names, when you hear me say pretty die, then you know😂💖
@@GerrysCraftRoom I know exactly what you mean about the dishes, I usually wear gloves to do them but not last night. Just a little blue left 😜🤣 Pretty die is so much better than the alternative. I think I'd be bleeping out lots. Good job I don't do my own 😂🤐💟
Thank you for sharing❤️ When you put the ink on the plate it creates drops nothing like is lools at yours. Does not matter if it is distress or oxides. So strange. I almost get no print. Why does is puddle?
I have found pigment inks will beat up less than dye inks, also dye inks will be less visible as they are translucent and give lighter prints. A more pigmented dye ink like Catherine Pooler inks could give a better result, but I can't say for sure as I haven't tried it. Try rolling over a few more times with the brayer, softy, this will break up the little drops into smaller drops, hope this helps.
Angela Hartley you could try cleaning your gel plate with baby oil, that will take off all residue (if there is any) maybe that will help. Then after you cleaned it with the oil, wipe it off with a wet wipe and pad dry with a cloth or paper towel. Ink however always will bead up a bit, you can see that also on the cards I made in this video. I do find it beads up less that a dye ink though., hope this helps💖

When using my gel plate with distress oxides it beads up even when using a brayer. Why does it do that please? Thank you!
