    It’s interesting to me what each person chooses as their favorites. Fossilized Amber, Abandoned Coral and Mermaid Lagoon is my fave (nontraditional) primary color trio.

    Thank so much Natasha for your very informative video, i have been thinking of buying some Distress Oxides for ages now. Because of the expense of buying different colours and getting it right I have held back, after watching your video I am going to purchase some of the colours you mentioned, after Christmas now, it is so good to have someone's advice on this, which I thank you for so much, I think you are great at blending and love watching your videos, I have learnt so much from them, I also love your Facebook page. Thank you again.

    Super video! As others have said I wish I had this guidance when I first was purchasing DO’s, which I love for so many techniques. It will be fun to see what the newest color will be! I also really love the Claire inks, they print so crisply and are great for heat embossing in colors. I have recently discovered Catherine Pooler dye inks. She has some fabulous, unique colors and her ink pads are quite juicy. I like Simon’s, but found many of mine arrived pretty dry which necessitated buying the reinkers right away, love their reactive properties! Thanks Natasha for all that you share, it makes my creative day when you post a new video!!💗🦋🤗🧑🏼‍🎨

    Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the inks! ☺️ It's always helpful to get different opinions when looking for new products - sometimes it can help solidify your decision one way or another. I mostly stamp, so I have been really interested in the Versa Fine Claire as I've heard it stamps very well.

    THANK YOU!!! I've been wanted to buy a bunch of ink pads. Confusing to which to do,and colors to start with. I like to do more embossing.. ink I can use besides the specific one, like distress oxides. I have the small pads. And I do want type I can get reinkers for. You HAVE answered most of my questions. The big problem I was having,was which colors do I go with??? You answered a big part of that. I wish there was a color chart you could get to see ink colors so you could buy them. I try to remember colors I see on videos and go from there. Well I like the colors you choose. I think I'd have to get a couple browns... lol THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS. I'M SAVING this to go back to it so I can write down the colors..thanks again. Love your videos and your ideas..

    Hi Natasha. You are always humble and I admire that about you. During one video of yours doing a rainbow, I paused the video and took a screenshot of the colours you were using as I never had many distress oxide inks. I ordered the rainbow colours that you used plus cracked pistachio, squeezed lemonade, black soot and twisted citron. I'm so excited that they've finally arrived. I love the chipped sapphire so want to get that as well. I currently don't have the spun sugar either but do have kitch flamingo and picked raspberry. Thanks so much for always being prepared to impart your knowledge. As always, you rocked it! 💖🤗

    • @gorschtown
      @gorschtown 2 года назад

      Hi Dianna, I use Brilliance Moonlight White… it’s a pigment ink (& it’s Archival, not that that is of any relevance to me) and it is VERY rich & opaque. BUT, it does have a bit of shimmer to it, which personally I love, but it might not be what you’re looking for.
      I don’t think I’ve ever seen Natasha use a white ink but I hope she has a chance to answer you cause I’d love to know too! I have to admit, if it wasn’t for the shimmer factor I wouldn’t even have this one, but it was an impulse buy & I’ve ended up loving it so I thought I would share.

  • @vamps_rock

    Colour choices are so interesting to me, as with all the many art and craft vids I've watched over the years, very few use any of the colours, or more to the point the shades of, the colours I prefer. In terms of the colours you have showcased, I do find that most of them are among the more popular ones that I see being used overall. I mostly prefer the warm/hot/earthy/deep colours and tones with just a few exceptions and only Candied Apple and Chipped Sapphire from yours are ones I like which just goes to show how very subjective these things are. And as I've nothing better to do at the moment (utter lie lol!), these are the colours I like;
    I'm not a pink girl but two of my fav colours of the distress line are what I call 'dirty' or vintage pinks - Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet (is that pink or purple?).
    For green; I love Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and my fav by far is Forest Moss and again all of these are the 'dirty' or earthy tones.
    I'm def a red girl, but I much prefer the darker tones so Fired Brick and Barn Door are top of my list and another overall fav is Aged Mahogony.
    With the blues, the only one I love is Chipped Sapphire but I NEED Salvaged Patina (Santa hopefully!).
    Most of the yellows other than Squeezed Lemonade are on my favs list, but Mustard Seed and Wild Honey are my top two.
    Crackling Campfire is the most delicious orange I've ever seen I think!
    For purple, Seedless Preserves wins hands down and I don't like any others other than the new Villainous Potion (which I don't have yet).
    And I love nearly all the neutrals/browns with Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo, Ground Espresso, Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke being my favs out of them all.
    And now that I've bored you with my favs, I go now! TFS :)

    Thank you again for another informative video! I love your technique/ideas videos but this 'supply' video is most helpful, too. Your color choices are clean and bright, happy and chipper, like you! I wasn't going to get Crackling Campfire because it's so dark, but I just got it and I love it's warm orange-ness. Just sayin'.....

    • @NatashaFooteCreative
      @NatashaFooteCreative  2 года назад

      It is hard to cut it down to just basics. I guess I already recommended perhap12-14 inks, so I felt like that was a lot, but maybe i'll look into crackling campfire too! Thank you!

    • @ooman56
      @ooman56 2 года назад

      So if space is limited, forget Crackling Campfire....go for Villainous Potion. That's a color worthy of taking up space! I haven't tried any of the other newer colors, just those two. Villainous Potion is pretty intense, tho'. And that's my take on 'em. Sorry to be confusing, I get all excited when I see one of your videos and this one is extra fun, somehow. Maybe it's seeing all those colors, together. lol

    Great information. I wish I'd been more discriminating when i first began to buy craft products. Chipped Saphire is also one of my faves as well. Victorian velvet in the pinks, also very vintage, Aged mahogany as a dark maroon?, Wild Honey is also a favourite together with Seedless preserves(pinky purple). These last two blend (esp with water) into the most gorgeous bronze/copper colour. Vintage photo was my very first colour but in distress inks. I have distress inks as my water reactive inks as I can purchase more colours if I buy the minis🙂

    What would have been most helpful for me is if somebody did a video with swatches of the whole line. It was difficult finding a photo of a full swatch that I liked. I had to settle for one and I just picked 1 of each color to start. I don't have a way to drive to a craft store so I had to buy online. I always try to get free shipping and buy on sale. So I ended up collecting most of the collection way faster than I thought I would have anyway.

    Question, have you ever opened any of your oxide inks to find the felt like pad itself either/or fraying all over the place (leaving threads on stamps and paper etc..) or even completely glued onto the plastic base off centered, leaving some edges extremely raised, and not a flat stamping surface at all (hope that makes sense) I've bought quite a few and have many with these issues. On top of receiving new ones, that are very dry and difficult to ink up anything (but especially the ranger brand blending foams...) or worse, extremely flimsy and loose lids that wouldn't stay on at all if not stored flat (I would prefer being able to store on their sides, but that seems to cause issues so far)? Just so curious because I always here so many people raving about these and never heae anything about any issues or defective etc. So I'm very curious if this is normal or common to receive in your supposedly brand new ranger distress oxide ink pads? :( ty in advance!

    This video is helpful and one I wish I'd seen before I started collecting inks! I got "full set syndrome" for the Distress inks because the colors are all so gorgeous, and bought all the Distress Oxides pretty much at once, as well as the Distress Ink Minis all at once. I will say that I did shop with an eye to price and was able to find most of them on sale. Having heard good things about Versafine Clair inks for stamping, I'm looking to add those as well to my collection which should be a lot easier since there are far fewer colors!

    • @dianaallen7586
      @dianaallen7586 2 года назад +3

      I too have full set syndrome 🤣. When I first started out I bought the full 24 set of Wendy Vecchi (sp). However the colors just weren't to my liking. I watched a ink comparison video by Jennifer McGuire and fell in love with the distress oxides, I bought every color Tim holtz has, I still have a few I need to purchase from his latest set lol.
      Then after watching Natasha use the versafine Clair, I decided I needed those 🤣. I'm like you, I wait for the best prices so I still need like 8 more. The struggle is real 🤷🏻‍♀️. I gave the WV inks to my daughter and she loves them, so it all worked out in the end. I got my daughter into stamping cuz I'm a dork!! Haha I'd see a stamp set and go on that's so pretty, I have to buy it only to find out, yep I'd already bought it 🤦🏻‍♀️. My shopping obsession always works out for her 😂
