Honestly, Frontier Village is probably the one standout city/town in the game. The fact that it's build entirely vertically without being a pain to navigate is super cool, and it's just got a very welcoming, wholesome vibe.
i would say alcamoth is also pretty standout though. But yeah frontier village is really nice. Seems like a great place to chill with some nopon friends
@@Justin-cw7zf I like Alcamoth's scale, but it feels almost too big tbh, it takes forever to get from place to place I guess I'd like it a lot more if they did more with the space
@@Justin-cw7zf SPOILERS To me alcamoth is only a standout because of what happens to it at the end of the game. It feels kind average and a lot more spacious than it needs to be (especially because there are no warp points on that long walkway on that top floor making it a hassle when you're trying to reach something in the back) but venturing in there after all the entia's have been converted to telethias is horrible and it really shows just how much Zanza's actions affected the poor people and how little he actually cares for the beings he created.
*WORD OF WARNING:* DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN 3 WALNUT GRAPES IN YOUR INVENTORY WHEN YOU COME TO THE FRONTIER VILLAGE. There is a Nopon who will ask for either Walnut Grapes or Bitter Kiwis, with the Kiwis being the better option. If you already have the grapes when you talk to the NPC (and you probably will, since you can find them in an earlier area,) it will automatically lock you out of the option of presenting the Kiwis instead.
I wish this would get fixed. I think this was the only instance for not getting a choice for what items you can give if you have both, at least thats how it worked for me
I'm not sure if they fixed it in the DE of the game. I remember this quest and I think I might have accidentally given them to him. Somehow I still got 5 star affinity for central Bionis.
@@Empolo18 Just did this quest a few days ago: it's not fixed in the DE, I spent so much time searching for Bitter Kiwis only to have the game decide that I should become a divorce attorney.
how can i describe this... its like they took the best elements of both the day and night versions of of the original song and mixed them together perfectly
This feels like what a home should be like. I can't believe this is only one out of many amazing music pieces in the entire Xenoblade series. Thank you for this amazing thing you've made, Monolithsoft.
I really like how the Soundtrack goes for a more old school RPG sound in the music from Satorl up though Frontier Village. Gives everything a nostalgic feel to it
This little town was just so beautifully detailed, I loved being able to follow the whole process of making pollen orbs if you went far enough up, I *loved* that they took the time to animate every little step in their production including the little crushing machines. It felt so lived in and so oddly realistic considering it’s just a bunch of little fuzzy bowling balls living in a giant tree
A quick listen after playing the game and then reading to notes from the composer, I did not know that the main melody was played on the recorder!! I grabbed my own recorder to play along and it turns out that you can really play along by with it. I thought that was really cool because I do not know too many songs on the recorder let alone play it. but so refreshing to hear this instrument in action. Also thought the accordion is amazing here. The whole is so beautiful.
The area I was the most hyped for from the start, when I learned that there was a nopon village I couldn't wait to see it. I find them adorable and I'm pretty biased so this area is one of my favorites, the music is so upbeat and no matter what's going on in the world this place is always so full of life.
I didn't really care for most of the other town/settlement themes in XC1 but then I heard this one god damn. That happy village vibe is so strong and it's perfect.
I rank themes by where they play: Cutscene, Field and Battle. This right here, is my favourite field track mainly cause of the effect it leaves on you. Your in a peaceful village and the instruments are catchy. Listening to this a whole year later I am already nostalgic as hell. Thank you Monolith Soft for making such a memorable game
Wow I never realized, just gave it a listen and colony 6 really does sound like a slowed down version of frontier village but I kinda of feel like it's different enough. Anyway, you blew my mind

I did it before meeting Riki on my first playthrough, I actually did it because I thought it was an intended way to make it to the quest objective faster (which is probably what it was).
Tohlemiach what I mean by this is a lot of the new tracks don’t sound good. A lot of the new tracks also sound great. Most of the battle themes have really bad mixing which makes them sound hollow and light. There’s an overall problem with dynamics (Satorl night got murdered by this) and a trend of some weird staccato deliveries at weird times. But a lot of things sound much better also.
