- Having last suited up in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils during the 17/18 season, this Swedish Goaltender quietly disappeared from the league. So that begs the question: whatever happened to Eddie Lack?

One thing I’ll give Lack though...his pads were always sick

Lack is a solid goaltender. Like Michal Neuvirth, between the flashes of promise and head-scratching inconsistency, it frustrated GMs
We saw him at a Devils -lightning game a few years back,one of the rare occasions where he looked great

Always seemed like a really nice guy while in Vancouver. That grin and his willingness to give the fans a moment are wonderful traits to pass on as a college coach. He'll find his way whichever side of it he lands on and I wish him well in his recovery.

u totally missed huge parts of the Eddie Lack story... his epic twitter.. his jovial personality that rubbed management/coaches the wrong way... the huge controversy where he started in the outdoor heritage classic game over Luongo... the irony of being traded back with Corey Schneider of what was the 3 headed goalie monster in Vancouver. AND TACOS!!!
I saw him play a few time in carolina. I really liked him, carolina even had a special discount at some local taco shop if lack won (that or got a certain amount of saves idk).

he got traded to the rangers and then retired

@Dr. Loomis thats weird, cause in swedish Läck and Lack is pronounced the same. The swedish meaning is leakage, mostly assosiated with poorly built boats that is very likely to sink

facts, ccm & vaughn = the only quality goalie gear... in a goalie myself and use ccm’s and always have... all the hype with the bauer pads is a joke their pretty much pieces of cardboard

Remember, correlation does not equal causation. It just seems that way because not many goalies wear CCM or Bauer, probably because they dish out more money for the tendies to wear them.
Brian’s is the most comfortable goalie gear on the market. They’re like the titlest of goalie gear, and I would love to get my hands on a full set. In the meantime though, Bauer for me...

That trade to Calgary ended up being a steal for the Flames, as that 7th round pick ended up being Dustin Wolf, who is one of, if not the best goalie prospect in the league today!

Fun trivia. His name is actually Läck. Läcka = leak in Swedish. Funny name for a goalie.
I feel like he’s gone to the KHL . That’s where he belongs . He killed the Heritage Classic . And the Post season.
No I don't agree; that disaster at the Heritage Classic was Tortorella and Luongo having a pissing contest that saw Eddie getting set up to fail and Luongo get traded. It took the Canucks years to get over one season of Tortorella. Reminds me of when we had a captain with the initials MM.

He is a mildly succsessful former NHL player, who played in NHL on years 1999-2003. And The Pred's made a huge trade for him on The early 2000's. But he played most of hes career in europe. But The biggest controvercy of this player is hes former drug addiction. But Of course there is alot of theese type of players.

He played about 3 NHL seasons and after that, went back to play in Frolunda were he led his team to victory in both SHL and CHL last year. Recently signed a player contract that reaches as long as Henrik Lundqvists does

Finished his career with stints in NY, STL, Toronto, and 1 year with the Oilers in the WHA. He retired after his son died and then moved to Switzerland to spend the rest of his life.

Seems like he was a mediocre goalie that was, unfortunately, terribly inconsistent. Perhaps that nagging hip injury is what led to his inconsistent play.
So in essence he was lacking? Shoulda changed his name
