  • As far as people movers are concerned, the 2024 Kia Carnival is head and shoulders above the competition in Australia when it comes to sales. Its traditional rival, the Honda Odyssey, is no more, while new challengers have emerged in the form of the Hyundai Staria and LDV Mifa but are yet to make a dent on its immense popularity.
That said, the Carnival isn't relying on its past performance to see it through, as the fourth-generation model has just ushered in a significant midlife update that will introduce a 'self-charging' hybrid powertrain option for the first time - but not just yet. Also, the exterior and interior designs have been tweaked extensively.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton gets behind the wheel of the facelifted Carnival in its petrol and diesel forms at its local media launch to find out if the Kia has once again reset the benchmark for the ultimate family car.

Are the Kia carnivals sold in Australia made in South Korea? How reliable do Australians consider them to be?

Yes, the Kia Carnivals sold in Australia are indeed made in South Korea.
Thanks to Kia's impressive 7 year/unlimited KM warranty program, ample safety features and high consumer satisfaction, the Carnival is widely regarded as a reliable vehicle by Aussies.

@@BigBopper-zm1kf haha He can't review it or mention it because it hasn't arrived in Australia yet. Near the end of the year or sometime after July maybe if Australia is lucky enough.

Same as the Diesel just petrol V6. Uses a lot more fuel as he stated and diesel has more grunt and a little noisy - normal diesel sound.

Maybe I’m being too picky but the start button looks cheap and nasty.
