so helpful! thanks for the tutorial!! I will test it for sure!
What a fantastic idea, thanks for sharing! 😎
Glad you liked it! Have a good one, cheers😉
Thank you soooo much!! Saved me time, $$ and frustration!
Nice work... do you have a link to purchase the dye?
Amazing!!
Thanks Mr. Nico:)
Fantastic!
Thank you so much😉 Cheers
Tiene buena pinta el proceso. Gracias.
Gracias! Me alegro que te guste👊
Thanks for the video / tip ✨👍✨
Have you tried making pink from mixing red with other pigments? Also what clear resins are you using?
i have done this technique, using nailpolish. But it never occured too me that you can do it with pigments. Thanks!
It seemed like a great idea! I tried to buy the same pigments and use the process shown, but unfortunately I didn't get the same result! It turns out to be all in small spots unfortunately .. I hoped so much! 😢
Dude!! Dude if you just solved my resin issue.... ima freak out!!
Hello friend, I tried your method of dyeing the resin and I was really surprised by the result, I send you a big greeting from Argentina, I add that if you send it glossy lacquer it will remain one hundred percent crystalline
Hi! The glossy lacquer you used was before or after the paint bath? Thanks!
Everything i find is to add to resin before. Not for dipping like this video. Dye either sits on top of water or when mixed, doesn't color the piece. Probably end up pouring resin and adding coloring dye then dipping print into the colored resin?
Can you told me if you can dye grey resin too?
That's awesome....I'm making a large figure i got from 3dlabs and it has water effects and magic circle effects over the character. Do you know if you can get various color saturation. I'm hoping to have darker color for the water on the base, and very light blue for the magic rings over the character.
I know this is late but an option is if you tint the actual resin, you can then change the darkness/lightness of the resin by changing the thickness of parts on a hollow print.
“I hope you found something helpful” umm… yeah, I didn’t even know I needed this method hahaha.
Does it work with transparent PLA?
You just changed my life! 😮
THANK YOU!!! 😄
You’re very welcome👊cheers
nice
Thanks😉
Does anyone have a link were they sell this thing?
Nice finish. Have you experimented mixing the tint with the resin before printing?
I'm wondering the same thing, I'm trying not to use anything that will leave sediment at the bottom as I pour it back into storage.
For anyone who tries this but the dye just floats in droplets on the water's surface, I think it's just a matter of getting a lucky batch. I tried a few different scenarios with no success, bought another set of dyes and it reacted to water just like in the video.
Hi , absolute Cool , I´m trying to find that set in Ebay and Amazon Germany with no Luck :-((
You should be able to buy them here: www.easycomposites.co.uk/set-of-10-translucent-resin-tinting-pigments if you search on Amazon for Translucent Tinting Pigments you will find some alternatives but I don't know how well they will work.
Looks like they don't sell this tint in the US it's sold in the UK.
Link to product used please!
Would this work on clear plastic? Like the Nolzors Miniatures by Wizkids for Dungeons and Dragons.
Im painting an Emerald Dragon which comes as clean clear plastic, but its meant to be a rich clear emerald
This does not work on clear plastic, I tried to do something similar to a styrene plastic kit with the clear parts., the color does not stick and wipes off if handled. It would need to be clear coated.
I love this idea. Tried it by the drop of tint just stays in droplet form and falls to the bottom of the water dish. It doesnt disperse like yours did. What do I have wrong? TY
Love this idea too! Today I tried it for myself... with the same disappointing result: absolutely nothing... tested also directly (pure) ... no color ... :(
Any ideas?
what dye did you use? Was it the same brand? If not the same brand, what brand did you use?
I cant find this brand. Ive tried others and none seem to be as easy as your video
this is perfect for the infinity stones
Hello there. Yes it is😉 Thanks
Curious if you've done multicolor pieces?
Hello there. No, I haven't done that yet🧐
I find impossible to tint solid colors on resin. I only find tutorials for transparent ones. I already tried the best pigments and only got a "creamy looking" pastel color in the end. ;( I need solid basic colors like orange, red, etc. Can't find how. :(
Maybe try spraying layer of primer first. You can also spray darker primer low and white primer over top to highlight like a natural sunlight. Makes shadows pop.
Can anyone confirm that prints go clear if in the sun for long enough?
it didn't work for me :(
Where can I find that light saber?
Hello Mr. Hopper. If you go to the video build I made of the broken lightsaber. you'll find a link in the description for the 3d files😉 Cheers
I really wish this worked for me but the dye just seems to ball up and sink into the bottom of the container.
Sorry to hear that Sir. Maybe its a different kind of pigment? I'll see if I can find it online and post a link in the description😉 Have a great one, Cheers
@@PropsNstuff Hi, I love your videos and i'm trying to perform this method. However I have the same result as @aceattorney.
Impossible to find the same brand as yours.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Have you tried Alcohol Inks?
Can’t find the color on amazon
You should be able to buy them here: www.easycomposites.co.uk/set-of-10-translucent-resin-tinting-pigments if you search on Amazon for Translucent Tinting Pigments you will find some alternatives but I don't know how well they will work.
Ok so I tried this and not sure what I'm doing wrong but the results are not even close to yours. Paid 40 dollars to get some glass cast resin tint from Easy Compsites in UK I'm in USA and could not find them anywhere else. I put a few drops in a room temp water.. dye floats on top. I drop in my resin cast pull it out and hardly anything sticks to it.. the dye just floats around and clings to the sides of the bowl.
Ok update to if anyone else has the same issue as me. I ended up just ditching the water and painted the dye on with a brush. Although probably not idea it worked good enough for me with close to the same effects as PropsNstuff.
Did you try with destiled water or with diferent temperatures?
@@00WS9 any other alternatives? I didn't get the same exact dyes but yeah super disappointed in how little it actually dyes the prints compared to this video
What was that one that looked like a girl blowing bubbles gum? At 1:31
looks to be a D.va you can see her headphones and bangs
What's really going on here? Almost everyone else I've asked about this video said they've had no success with method. What magic are you pulling off here?
May i know any other product or product name I can search for this
cause I cant find any same product at my location "Malaysia"
Hello there Bruce. Not sure what that would be? But the closest I can guess is simply a type of resin colour. (It has to be a clear tint) I do believe that Elegoo, Anycubic and Creality have something similar in there online stores😉 Happy hunting Sir👍🏼 Have a good one, cheers
