- KoЯn; Known for their heavy downtuned riffs. But what if they were played on an 8 string guitar? Here's my guitar cover video of 10 KoЯn riffs played on my 8 string guitar, in Drop E! The Drop E tuning really makes some of these KoЯn riffs Djent. Like, Djent really hard. KoЯn's riffs are already fairly heavy, but this brings it to a whole other level on the guitar.
Anyway, enjoy this compilation of 10 KoЯn riffs in Drop E!
What's your favorite KoЯn riff on the guitar?

What's your favorite KoЯn riff on the guitar?
Somebody someone breakdown
Main riff clown and main riff dirty
Right now or falling away from me i guess, i dont remember all the song names lol, but take a look into the mirror is definitely my favorite album
Here To Stay and Dead Bodies Everywhere. But, I also love Predictable, Ball Tongue and Lies. Those riffs are great.
insane
I love the clarity of notes you got!
Fuck yeah. Korn where pioneers of using 7 strings tbh so it makes sense to see them on an 8! Also if you guys like the falling away from me cover check out Kadinja's cover!
Ah, I can see right now where nu-metalcore roots coming from!
Agreed, Blind in drop E is something Alpha Wolf could drop
Many bands are playing nu-metal riffs, just even more downtuned, haha
NAhhhhhh this was nuts. Great tones, great video bro.
Duuuude!!!!!!! That sounds so damn good!!!!!
Thanks a lot! : D
@@DennisMartenssonOfficial you’re absolutely welcome
Liked in support of bringing back the livestream. This is cool too.
Sometimes pretty Djenty
Awesome work
this is dope
cool
Thanks a lot!
Now do Limp Biscuit or Static-X!
Why not both?
A true man of culture
It's just like when I tried to play these riffs on a 6 string in E/Drop D back in the day... kinda
Sounds better in the original tuning IMO. Not always about how low tuned you are.
And they even layer lot of the riffs with octaver effect from Whammy pedal, so technically Korn has stuff that is a lot lower than this Drop E. And bass is octave below the guitars.
I mean yeah, the originals were professionally mixed lmao
Totally has that traitors sound going. And bro a.d.i.d.a.s sounded had that djent tone and vibe to it. Shit is so fucking sick sounded.
Nice. The riffs sound amazing this way.
Limo Bizkit would be killer next
Nah, Lima Bizkit is the best.
@@TastyPottyligma bizkit
I have the same guitar with Fishman fluence moderns, it riffs hard definitely recommend 👌
What picks do you use bro? And what thickness? Your tone is insane!
I think it's mostly the bass tbh that shit gnarly
dope
dope indeed
Thanks a lot!
You better plug this into the djentorator or come out with a nu one.
Sometimes i play there stuff in drop d so just a bit lower on with 8
Curious toknow that if KoRn were to write music in something like Drop E, what would that sound like? I know Love&Death are in drop G# but that's not particularly KoRn really.
I w8 4u by Love and Death was in F# I Think. Korn also used 8-strings for the song Haze and Hushabye, but those songs aren’t that good. They tried writing with 8-strings with Head when he came back to the band but thought it was too close to Meshuggah sound.
@@northtimo666 yea I remember that actually, they thought it sounded too much like Meshugga you're right. I'll have you know however Hushabye is one of my favorite songs by them lmao I didn't know it was on 8-strings though that's interesting
Thoughtless sounds SO frickin good tho
Как под гипнозом слушал)
almost sounds like meshuggah lol
Haha, much stuff sounds like Meshuggah in this tuning x)
Korn wrote some stuff with 8-strings for The Serenity of Suffering and they ditched the idea cos they thought it was too much like Meshuggah.
Everything is meshuggah if you're listening correctly. Didn't they ever teach you that at school?
@@heavenly2k shut up fool.
MesshugkoRn
I like original much more.
How about some procedurally generated korn 🤔
Yes but No.. 😅 Very strange for my ears.
Drop Low D maybe?
My low string is a 105 gauge so drop e sometimes is too much pressure on the string so i have to go lower good vid yo
So much harder than the originals lol
Definitely brings even more heaviness to these riffs! \o/
Original sounds better but its an interesting take on it. Not near as percussive sounding, maybe just the mix.
as a korn fan of the first era 1995-2000 i would have to say that the real tunings are better than these ones..in drop E it's too muddy and unclear for the low parts ...this is not korn anymore just an ersatz like those thousand bands in nowadays who think that getting a low low tuning is badass...not eveyone can sound like messhugah...
but nice attempts 😉
To the commenter: Awful take. Also, not everybody who tunes this low is trying to sound like meshuggah. They didn't invent low tunings
To the creator: Amazing sound quality. Not really much of a Korn fan but this gives the songs a nice dj0nty twist. I like the bass guitar tone also. Every pluck is perfectly audible in the mix without being overpowering. Great job!
Agreed. The original tuning sounds a tonne better. Still interesting to hear what they sound like tuned even lower
this is too low now man lol
Damn... i'm here for drop E korn.
Cool video... those pickups sound awful
Yeah they are I have the same guitar I had to replace those they were garbage, sounds much better with Fishmans.
