I prefer using a grey undercoat

Grey will work just as well. Use whatever makes it easier to get painted minis on the tabletop!

Do you have a functional monoracial army for each? I want to eventually have it. Loving the streamlined nature of this elegant game. Finding it hard to align elves with orcs though…

I do, some larger or more complete than others.
It's been a slow build up over a few years as I wait for the official miniatures (for which my wallet is thankful!)
Here's a few ideas for Elves and Orcs:
What if your Elves are wild and savage and connect with the brutal and savage Orcs on a primal level?
What if your Orcs have a streak of honour and owe the Elves for a mighty deed in the past?
What if your Elves and Orcs live together, the Orcs handling the brute force labour while the Elves focus on arts and mental tasks?
What if your Elves keep slaves?
What if your Elves owe your Orcs? Maybe the Elven nation was under siege and set to be destroyed and a group of Orcs switched sides, turning the battle for the promise of land to settle?
Perhaps the Elves simply befriended a tribe of Orcs living on their borders, expanding the kingdom to include them?
What if your Elves hearts are as black as those of the Orcs?
What if the Orcs are a force of good? Just misunderstood by humanity because of their savage and brutal look?

@@AshandStoneNZ those are some great ideas, Chris. Love your channel, your humor, your painting and sculpting talent and insight. Do you play oathmark against other people as well as solo gaming?

@@AshandStoneNZ I likewise love the Tolkien/dark age aesthetic of the miniatures and would like all my armies to be of the same ilk. Besides games workshop is very expensive. Hopefully NorthStar comes out with some more kits. Specifically looking for an elven bolt thrower and don't want to have to use a high elf eagle claw though gw's minis are amazing. It would just clash from a visual standpoint. With an imagination like yours you should write some fantasy novels. Your battle reports and background fluff are very entertaining.

Cheers Bobby, It's really good to hear you are enjoying everything.
Pretty much just solo. I live in the middle of nowhere and if traveling, it's with the missus so we'll be playing D&D 😆
The North Star minis are fantastic, not just reasonably priced, but simple to paint up as they are not overwhelmed with detail, which is a huge upside to me. (nothing annoys me more than having to paint umpteen superfluous belts and straps on every model!)
I'm not sure when they are looking to make war machines, I'm a little surprised they haven't just produced crew in metal that you could pair with any already available machine to be honest. There are a bunch of generic catapults and such out there.
Yeah, I should look at doing a novel or something. I hadn't done much writing until I started doing the battle reports, but it's something that's been lurking in the back of my mind for a little while now. One day perhaps!

Is the water safe for disposal afterward?

Well that's weird. This comment was for a different video. I'm not sure how it posted to this one.
