When he hit the high not "I'm floating " I acceded to heaven I swear it
Funny you should mention that because that's the moment the character within the song goes to Heaven as well.
I agreeee this song is so good. Easily a top favorite because of that part. Especially because in those lyrics as the character is rising to heaven, the "floating~" part is soooo ethereal!!
Could you please stop stealing my thoughts, im quite attached to them.
Me too 🙌🙌🙌
LITTEARLY IT WAS AMAZING
How in the world doesn't this have more views? This is a damn masterpiece.
I agree!!
Some stuffs aren't meant for everyone. :)
literally i cant get enough of them
Exactly!
Utterly sublime and in a class of its own. Maybe people have been listening to too much rubbish to be able to discern a masterpiece when they hear one.
Cody Fry is a musical and lyrical genius. The way he creates stories and images with his songs is unlike anything else I’ve seen. When I first heard this song I was imagining an underground train in my head - he never said it explicitly but was able to paint the picture clearly. And the way he integrates the orchestra into his music just adds so much depth and volume. And that’s not even to mention his voice, which is so flawlessly smooth. I’m hooked!
I 100% agree. This song hit me with the dopamine drop on the building tension near the end of the song SO HARD. I love it!
@@sja7448 Yes, EXACTLY!
FACTS
I truly resonated with this song but the picture wasn’t an underground train for me. I was seeing the lyrics as how I would imagine someone going into the afterlife or the spirit world. Being greeted by someone who had passed. Idk it brings tears to my eyes this song! Love it!
@@emilydiehl8289 That's so beautiful!!
Your work may not be recognized enough, but thank you very much for giving it to us.
...yet!
@@brandonfarmer A year later and you were absolutely right. The world is finally beginning to see Cody Fry.
Yes so true , these artists deserves more praise
"...and I heart ooouuuu" his voice and the strings at this point.... gives you chills
Infuckingdeed
Fr
Better with woodwinds
Instant goosebumps at 2:15
for anyone who loves this performance as much as i do, laura mvula’s work with the metropole orkest is equally breathtaking!!!
which song should I listen first?
Man, the orchestration really takes this to the next level. Loved how the percussion at 2:03 mimicked the oncoming train in the lyrics. Great stuff!
He literally needs no autotune he is perfect
So.. I have Synesthesia and I can see sound as colors! I've seen so many beautiful colors in music... but THIS is somthing I've never seen before .. Its a deep purple with a flame like light and when the climax comes it bursts into glowing stars and I just- I needed to share his voice is a smooth red velvet with a glossy finish and I just... thank you for this masterpiece
That’s amazing
Cool🎶 🌈🌌🌠🎶💕
the absolute POWER of his voice, i love that growl (?) thing he does with his voice at 2:01, and all of his orchestra heavy pieces give me absolute chills omg I love his music so much
amazing to hear how this piece has transformed since the original studio version. 🤩
I love how he can incorporate orchestral sounds and still maintain his beautiful voice and a balance. He doesn't get enough credit for the beautiful songs he sings.
Tremendous. One of the bonus features of lock down was I found the music of Cody Fry. Amazing!
Same here!!! thanks to Cory Wong haha :D
I WEPT when I watched this the other night. SO MOVING. Entirely new meaning since this strange time we are in. THANK YOU. Absolutely BRILLIANT.
Can't wrap my head around how great this arrangement is!
Speechless… That “floating” @2:18 gives me goosebumps every time
As a musician, the experience of having a world class orchestra behind you on a song you wrote must be just incredible!
This is a video I keep coming back to again and again... and it keeps making me cry again and again. It’s been so fun to watch this song grow and mature over the years. An absolute work of art.
Just listened to this on Discover Weekly, on Spotify. I had to search for a video. And I'm glad I did: it looks as perfect as it sounds.
Whenever I hear the part starting at around 1:46 I get goosebumps. It's so powerful!
This song gives me a different kind of escapism and I'm absolutely in love with it
He sounds like that - LIVE. And, he's sitting down. If you're a singer, you know. Plays with the distances between his mouth and the microphone perfectly. Decides to do something quite different at the end than in his recording, just a little special treat for the people who paid to see him live. Oh, and he writes the orchestration and can play many of the instruments himself. He's not human.
The one dislike is the guy who got ran over by the train
Except he kind of wanted to and it is implied he is happier now. So that dislike must have happened right before..
help 😭😭😭😭
Oh my God, this THIS is true music
When I first heard this song, I pictured contentment, slight anxiousness, maybe a spark of hope. And that little sweet woo was the wind picking up. Then as it progresses, walking, to a brisk, a jog, a run, to a sprint. Then when the orchestra climaxes, the man jumps off in triumph spreading his wings and ending with a mysterious note.... Sadly I was wrong
Listening to it again, and I can't help but feel like I lost someone.
The music 😭 The lyrics 😭 The orchestration 😭
Simply brilliant! It's hard to say which is better, the astonishing songwriting, flawless vocal performance, or beautiful orchestral arrangement! All combined make for a master piece!!!
that was astronomically gorgeous, when he belted that note with the orchestral accompaniment wowww, that was amazing
This is truly a masterpiece, I get goosebumps every time I listen to it
This song makes me feel happy, sad, hopeful, a million emotions in one. It literally brings me to tears. Amazing.
It feels like he is sharing a part of his soul with us. And it is beautiful ❤️
i can't stop listening!!!!
This song ain’t got no reason to be as beautiful as it is
"I'm floating" makes me go into cardiac arrest everytime
One of the most epic yet beautiful songs ever written. Cody Fry is one of the most underrated composers
Absolutely beautiful. 0:39 brings me to tears.
From 2:16 on it’s just bombastic wow I like this complete sound especially with the trumpets and stuff. And Cody your voice is just amazing dude🙏
When you were least expecting it...Love hit you like a train 🥰
every now and then i find a song that brings me the closest to inner peace i will ever be. this is one of them.
One of those videos where I'm reaching for the headphones for 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th listens. And now I'm back for the 3rd consecutive day. This is what it's all about, Cody. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!
I think I would have cried if I'd been there to listen in person, absolutely captivating
this song....this song makes me feel things I can't even put into words. The lyrics. My love for the orchestral background (being a violinist myself). This is a masterpiece.
Shoutout to the audience... this was the first Cody Fry song I ever heard, when it came up on Spotify discover. I thought it was the most perfect song ever recorded, and I had no idea it was live until the applause at the end. Not that it's hard to listen in rapt awe when he performs, but they really respected the performance
This deserves so much more attention, can't wait until he becomes a legend in the music industry.
Every time I hear this song I tear up
PURE PERFECTION, CORY!!!
What a voice the way Cory pulls the song along until those strings match the voice
Amazing musicianship
I’m humbled by this
Time to practise more
I listen to this song everyday, in the morning it brings me some solace in hard times and grounding in good times... I cry sometimes listening to it... Everytime i listen I'm more taken aback by the sheer power and emotion in this... I truly love this song
2:37 I love how the guitarist just throws the pick to the ground
2:18 I genuinely get goosebumps, but this whole song is so genius and beautiful. Props to Cody fry and Cory Wong
One of the most beautiful songs I've heard. Thank you.
This was, and I mean this in the most literal sense, a SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE.
i got chills ..this is so beautiful thank you🥺💜
Today was a very good one because I stumbled across this song on Spotify and instantly fell in love with the style and voice.
His voice is so smooth and relaxing. This song makes me cry everytime.
Oh wow I'm never not surprised by Cody's talent. And let me tell you 2:29 reminded me SO MUCH of The Lion Ling: King of Pride Rock and that was my favorite movie when I was a child, it just makes Cody's masterpiece much more special to me. I'm always in love with his songs, SO incredibly talented
0:00 for anyone who is replaying this like i am
Cody Fry the legend himself responded
Cody what should I say? Unbelievable 👏👍❤️
This is an absolute masterpiece. I feel truly blessed to have witnessed a piece this epic.
This is what I imagine dying and going to heaven is going to be like and I hope this piece is played at my funeral. It makes me tear up every time I listen 🥲
Absolutely breathtaking. This whole covid situation has been tough for me has a working musician, but listening to this is really inspiring me to work and practice and write and everything. Thank you for this.
Listened to the original so many times. Didn't know it could get any better. So Good!!
This is breathtaking to me. Cody's voice, the way it's arranged...
This song really makes me want to live more. Experience those hikes. Jump in those puddles. Enjoy my indulgences. Thank you Cody.
This song has the masterful power and emotional grip of a 7-10 minute length song. Cody Fry, you are one of the greatest arrangers and musical minds of our generation 💙
Bro the two parts in this song that get are "then the ground begins to shake" and 'suddenly I'm floating" bro I got to heaven and back without two parts
I had to listen to this 3 times so I could experience the full emotional ride of this. I rarely see a live show performance as good as the recorde version, or sometime even better! I love this song, I love this emotional load and everything you produce. Thank you for for this, come to Brazil.
Can't say thank you enough to Cody for sharing this beautiful music with us
Hello??? Why doesn’t this have millions of views?? 😍😍 Cody deserves ALL the recognition for what he creates! All his pieces tickles my brain in all the right ways!! 🥰

I found this song at 11pm and have been up until 3am now just listening to it over and over again. Its simply amazing and deserves so much more recognition.
Found this on a Coffee Shop playlist and was immediately hooked.
I'm laughing at this being on a coffee shop playlist, I cannot imagine hearing this song while relaxing over coffee. "Here's your cappuccino, would you like to experience God as well?"
ABSOLUTELY DIVINE THANK YOU I LOVE IT
I'm going to hate the day I don't get chills in the last minute of this
Hey Cody, hope all is well with you. This is one of my most treasured performances of yours. Just sayin'.
