Your videos are always a treat-- animal ids, diagrams, no jarring coarse words, informative, and I always feel the suspense and anticipation just before a trigger is pulled. Thanks much!
Thank you samong for a great video I so thoroughly enjoy your content no showboating just hunting and sharing your knowledge and the info on the forest animals is great God bless all you do
Sam, great shot. I would have liked your friend to get the elk but it's funny how the sun has a habit of going down at the wrong time when hunting. Another great video. Thanks mate.
Samong you are such a professional of what you guys are doing, I enjoy your hunting videos a lot keep up the good work. I have been watching your blog since I first saw it I mean night and day
The blue grouse has been split into dusky and sooty grouse, which technically means we now have 4 grouse species to hunt! Not actually more than before but it adds a nice challenge if you want to get all of them in a season. My dad just shot his first grouse ever in NW Washington on the 15th!
You can see the vapor trail on that shot. That elk encounter was intense, too bad there wasn't enough light but props for sticking to the ethics. Your works keeps getting better every new video. Love it
Is this the first time you have hunted with Nick on camera? He looks like he would be a good partner to take hunting. Would like to see more of you two together hunting/fishing. Thanks for the ride along and good luck with the rest of your seasons.
Thanks for taking us another Wonderful adventure with you ! Fantastic video once again!! Also couldn’t agree more about harvesting and providing your own meat, if you haven’t done so your simply missing out. Just got done eating venison stew.
This is the first video of yours I’ve seen. Already subbed. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship you guys demonstrate is what it’s all about to me. Is the skin not worth anything? I thought bearskin rugs were desirable. And that dish at the end, yeah I’m hungry now.
Sitting in the pop up right now watching you with cc. I got my first deer ever (doe) on bow opener here in Texas this year. I’m pretty sure I’m addicted now. Oh and I’m an older gal so there’s that.
Great job as always. Your a legend. Your partners seem to not have their gear squared away that well. I can see where pre checks before going out are essential to ensure mounts rings and essential items are fitted and secure.
Elk always hang up on the break in terrain , so in your situation the top of the ridge overlooking the road. The way to approach that is have the shooter get up to that point, then drop below the road and call. There is a big learning curve to calling set ups .
You are right, but that's after the fact that we figured out where he was when we walked right to him. We originally thought we heard him directly up the ridge - not necessarily just above the road and in front of us. That's why we scrambled back running down the road because we basically got caught in an awkward spot. Knowing what we know now, yes, you would be spot on with the calling setup.
@@SamongOutdoors I was trying to suggest in that situation, setting up just off the road on the edge of the timber, that bull was obviously close and if your shooter was in that spot the odds of a shot would have been pretty high. You put together good stuff, well done
I went out yesterday and the snow came in fast and thick .I would here a grocery but the snow was hitting me so hard in the face I never got a shot out lol I was still the best trip of the year
Awesome video. Would u please tell me where I can get that back piece you used when u about to take your shot. The thing u put under your stock ? Or where I can order it from
Thanks, Stanley. That is the Rugged Ridge Outdoor Rear Rest. It's out of stock at most online sellers, but you can find it on Amazon. There are two different colors that you can choose from: Black version: amzn.to/3p0OszJ Orange version: amzn.to/3DHEM0X
man I love your channel. Not all the big sponsored dudes with a crew of support behind the scenes. Just a regular dude figuring it out - hell yeah
I loved the onX map of you running back to the truck 🚚 :)

Thanks, Kevin! Just peep the video description.
Sorry....I should have looked.
Great video, I'm pretty sure I'm going to try bear hunting next season for the first time.
That bear was flat out destroying that Elderberry bush. Grouse eat those too.
Awesome hunt!
@Samong Outdoors What camera do you use? Its got good quality
In Alberta it's illegal to leave the hide and the meat is an option. Good to see you have that option
