What I really appreciate about Samong is his focus on strategy and technique when he's in the outdoors. He's a real thinker in his approach to hunting and fishing. Excellent video!
I love the story telling. It comes from a truly genuine guy. It makes me feel like we are friends and I’ve never met the man. His passion for teaching is awesome to see. Keep the videos coming.
I’ve hunted big and small game for 50 yrs and considered pretty good but if I had your patience and hunting instincts, I’d be a legend. Damn you’re good.
Hey buddy, Another excellent video! I just had my son 6 weeks ago it’s 2 am and he’s sleeping on my chest while I watch your videos well done!!! Good luck and be safe this season
Samong: Your hunts, videos, and summaries just keep getting better and better! And, that's saying a lot: Your early videos are excellent! (Was out chasing whitetail here in Idaho this morning. Put a few miles on the boots; but, nothing on the meat pole. Watching your video made for the ultimate ending to a good day. Thank you!)
I have the outdoor channel and I would put Samongs videos against any of those shows. This young man is killing it. Great job and keep it up. I love the content
Great hunt, Samong, Steve, Nate! With all those 2 points, I'll get you get more than one legal buck next year! And I'll bet someone brings a bear tag! Thanks for the awesome video!
Man I can't wait for opening day. I'm so excited!! This video gets me all pumped up. Thank Samong for your efforts and everything it really is relatable and motivating!!! KEEP UP THE HUSTLE!!!
I've been watching your channel for about two years now, it is amazing to see the quality of your hunts. For a young man that goes out with family and friends, the filming and education level is right up there with MeatEaters, Solo Hunters and Randy Newberg. Don't brush it off either, you really are doing a professional quality channel and maybe it's because it's something you truly love, thanks for sharing.
I'm not a hunter yet but observing to learn right now. To me this is by far better than Meat Eater. I love everything about this channel. I love the genuine and authentic vibes and watching somebody truly enjoying what they are doing and sharing it with the world is pretty cool.
It is refreshing to see the passion and excitement of the experience as a whole and not concerned about antler inches. Nothing ruins a good hunt more than someone who gets a tape measure out before a skinning knife.
Outstanding video. You really capture the excitement of the whole hunt keep them coming can’t wait till your next one. Thank you for the effort!! Bob P
It's so true, the backcountry is a great teacher, it shows you love, but it's tough love.. It will bring to your knees with the lowest of lowes, in one minute and in very next, it will reward you with some very special moments...
Love this video, I enjoyed my hunts especially after returning with my kill. I'm jealous in that your first encounter in a new area for you, you come into a group of deer like the video proves you had. I congratulate you on your video, and hopefully we'll be enjoying many more from you and your fellow hunters.
Congratulations guys!! To find deer on your first high backcountry hunt is a success, but to find bucks and get one is absolutely amazing!! Love your content Samong and can’t wait for your next adventure!!
@@SamongOutdoors once the ground even a bit thawed...I've enjoying it emensly. When you have a few minutes..I've got a bottle of honey for you and the family.
What a great hunting trip to capture on video! Couldn’t help thinking if you had a bear tag and harvested that slob of a bear, it may have taken two days just to pack it out! Your learning lessons shared at the end are very much appreciated. Nice touch. The subtle additions to your videos make them some of the best content out there.
Just wanted to give you a huge shout out and thank you for all the content you put out Samong! Doing my first out of state hunt next month coming to Washington hoping to land on a elk. Your videos have definitely given me a better idea on not only the terrain but ideas on the hunt. Stay safe and keep pushing out the awesome content brotha!
@@bickabraham2397 I can’t remember the name of the exact area. My friend has a family cabin up there and invited me to come up with him this year. I do know that it’ll be western side. I’ll have to ask him for a better description of where
Nice work guys! Makes me happy to see new hunters getting after it in the right way. It’s not just about killing animals. It’s about hunting in an ethical manner, always respecting the game that we persue. Remember that the stalk is essence of the hunt. Your shooting distances should shrink as you master this craft. I think you guys get it.
Excellent hunt and thank you for sharing your hunting experience with us. It’s a dream come true for Nate, first high country and it’s all captured under Samong’s outdoor.
Good stuff Samong. That was a great hunt. I really see a difference in your videography and editing skills. You are getting better all the time. Keep it up brother.
Bro, your vids have improved so much... I was stubbed like 2 years ago and broke phone, well hunting season was rolling around and remember your channel.... Your killing it and great job
Thanks TD! Part 2 will probably come out sometime in January because I want to run thoroughly run through all the packs this season first. In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions!
As it stands are you preferring the Exo or the Stone Glacier more? I'm in the market for a new backcountry pack and am torn between the two and haven't taken the trip to Boise yet to test them both out
That's a tough one because both really go toe-to-toe with each other. If I had to choose right now, I'd choose the Stone Glacier by like a pinch of a margin. The only reason is because the SG just feels slightly more comfortable around my waist. This is literally the only reason. Both bag designs are great (I would pick the Exo 4800 if based on bag design strictly).
Thank you so much for the quick reply, I was slightly concerned by the lumbar pad slipping and the softness that I've heard of for Exo but I was tending to lean more towards their bag design. Either way it'll be nice to pick up a new bag. If you're ever interested in trophy muleys Sourhern Oregon is the place to go!
A good way to secure field dressing and campsites is to use a portable electric fence. The lightest one out there weighs only 2.4 lbs and it’s powerful enough to deter a hungry griz. Just a suggestion
Samong wow what a great hunt!! I love your excitement and passion for all aspects of the hunt is great watching your hunts and look forward to many more. Oh ya make sure you have bear tag in your pocket next time🤣 what a bruiser of a bear that was!! 👍
I want to preface this by saying I am not a hunter nor have I ever hunted anything but my interest was peaked late last year, I wanted to take a bear to eat and hang its pelt on my cabin wall. I have watched a lot of hunting videos but they are usually old and grainy or just bad quality and edited to make the hunter look like a master. With all that being said I greatly appreciate your videos and the amount of information they offer. As a future hunter I love the elaboration on pretty much every topic of hunting as you approach them. Thank you very much.
What was the bipod you guys were using for that uphill shot at the buck?? Small lightweight looking one you handed over to him. Great videos. You’re doing a great job!!
A couple words of wisdom. Get a Katadyn pro hiker water pump. Iodine tablets can cause heart palpitations, I found this out the hard way 6 days into a back country elk hunt. Also, when scouting look for north facing slopes, those hold the most feed. Looks like a great trip, keep up with the great adventures. The PNW has some great areas.
Hi Samong, great video. I really like the longer length of the video and how you explain your strategy clearly and with maps. It makes me more confident for the day I finally get out to do a longer, high country hunt out here in BC. Congratulations on the memorable and successful hunt! Just 1 question, what is the name of that bino monopod you guys are using?
What is the stabilizing stick you hooked up you your Binos when you were glassing up the forky?? Super curious, never seen anything like that! Awesome video too!!
Love the videos man! I am sure you get invites often but if you ever find your way to southern Oregon it would be an honor to share deer camp with you!
I like the close-ups of the deer. The biggest mule deer and elk I've ever seen was at the Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico when I hiked it in High School with a church group. Imagine thousands of acres and no one hunting anything kind of took me a while to get used to little whitetail deer again.
Hunted the Pasayten 15 years ago, it is a fun hunt in the high country but you definitely earn your bucks hiking in. Saw you had the same water issues we did, we had to pack in all our water, it made for a heavy hike in.
Love your hunting adventures. I'm from Africa we hunt where a lot of the animals want to eat you or kill you. Can't wait to see when you get your buck👍

It’s awesome you put your friend on animals samong. I don’t think Nate would be too successful without your passion and intuition.
Your channel is so chill.
