In Louisiana, opening day of squirrel season is the first Saturday in October. Also known as Coonass Holiday. It is so popular, schools are closed the Friday before because families are at squirrel camp. Two central Louisiana high schools even play on Thursday. The game is known as the Squirrel Bowl. One thing I like about samongs videos is every hunt I've ever watched he is always just out to have a good time and he enjoys everything he does regardless of filling tags. I love how he takes his time to tell us every detail and you can really tell he is very thankful for the time he gets in the woods with his friends and family. Don't change anything!!
I appreciate your videos so much, the presentation, skills, passion for nature is priceless man. Grey squirrel was the first thing I was taught to hunt with a single action 22LR rifle. Good hunting.
That’s what I call real hunting👍🏻, nothing more relaxing and nothing like it to restore the soul. Thank you for sharing your hunts with us. Keep up the good work.
Epic hunt bro. Glad you got the chance to experience it because limiting out is never guarantee and extremely hard this day in age. Keep making movies Sy!
Really enjoy your videos I live i Georgia and our daily limit on squirrel is 12 they make great stew and love to eat them also can't wait for parts 3 &4
LOVE it! im in college and stuck at home having to do my homework. But watching you and your family going out for a squirrel day, seems like I've went you guys. Great job! and keep those videos coming. Even if its the same thing/subject. keep them coming. Different day, brings different video.
At 6:00. The berries that the bears are eating is Manzanita. In Oregon they have the bushing variety. In Washington we have the low shrub version called bearberries or kinnikinnick. It does not produce very many berries and is not a major food source like the bushing Manzanita that is in Oregon.
You might consider sending five or six hides to a tannery (I like Moyels). Leave the tails on. Those big Westerners look cool hanging as a bunch on the wall.
Hey man, I dig your squirrel videos. I’m in Southern Oregon and have a squirrel dog. Anytime ya wanna try hunting over one of those I’d be happy to take ya out, it’s a great time and a totally different way of going after Mr. Bushy Tail!
Great video!! Can you recommend any general units/ areas by Redmond OR, I i’m thinking of going for my first time when it opens this year .. thank you .. 🙏 🐿️
funny how as us hunters we have things we do . i keep three in my left pocket and always carry one in my left hand so if i shoot all three i got one i can slam in right away at all times hah
I also grew up squirrel hunting and always used a 22 with iron sights. Never knew of anyone using a shotgun. To each his own though.😊 Results are difficult to argue with 😅
I like this video, Native Washingtonian. Never have I been squirrel hunting or tried the meat of one. Seems like a great excuse for being in the woods though.
I'm not one to eat squirrel, but I am a fly angler who ties his own flies. What do you do with the hide and tail? Same with the quail. Do you keep the cape? I'd like to find some local hunters ( I live near Tacoma) who I could buy hides and fur from. No reason to throw out good materials.
Hi Samong, you have been doing a lot of talking which is pretty awesome. But u did not say anything about where u guys are hunting at. Do u guys hunt in Oregon or where else.
Used to hunt those squirrels in California, very big squirrel but not as smart and not a lot of them to hunt so harder to get limits. Out here in the southeast we have smaller size of squirrel but lots of squirrels all over on the trees in public lands. The squirrel over here will circle the trees and disappear within minutes if it see a human walking close by and if they hear a gun shot nearby they are not going to sit on the trees and wait for the hunters. They are 5 to 10 squirrels on a single tree but one gun shot they all will runaway or hide and you can sit and wait for hours and they will never come out again.
There isn't really a "possible" squirrel season in Washington. The only squirrels we can hunt are Eastern Gray's, but those are only found in the cities... which we can't really hunt in the city.
Keep an eye on the squirrels you have shot had a coyote steal one from me before while I was 25 yards away on the other side of a knoll waiting on another one to come down out of a tree how did I know it was a coyote? Left me a pile of 💩 in place of the squirrel 🤣
I like your channel, there’s no fluff no bs chatter, your strategy is planned out and you film great content.

I learned to hunt on grey Squirrels. Have taken a lto of big game. Funny started my Grands on cow elk. Makes me smile just thinking.
Pro gamer move, running toward the squirrel so it will run up a tree. Used to do that all the time whenever we went after gray squirrels.
Good stuff guys. I’ve never gone squirrel hunting so this was very immersive.
Nice squirrels! I would love to see some quail and grouse hunting.
Another great video. Wisconsin opener this past weekend and just had some squirrel stew too! Keep the videos coming bro!
I’m impressed samyong went out with a banger!!

Great video! What kind of gun were you using? My dad and I usually use a 22 or a 17. Never a shotgun.
I like this video, Native Washingtonian. Never have I been squirrel hunting or tried the meat of one. Seems like a great excuse for being in the woods though.
Low visibility works both ways. Tune your ears in. You know what squirrels sound like. Move very slowly so you hear them first.
you make awesome vids bro 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Good job
Make some larb or steam squirrels you got all the ingredients already.
Hey Samong jw when u kill a squirrel do u guys gutted rite away before bagging it?

What shot size do you use on your 12 gauge?
I'm not one to eat squirrel, but I am a fly angler who ties his own flies. What do you do with the hide and tail? Same with the quail. Do you keep the cape? I'd like to find some local hunters ( I live near Tacoma) who I could buy hides and fur from. No reason to throw out good materials.
What ammo are you shooting and size for these squirrels?
Makes me miss rat camp.

is this central oregon?
Do you ever hunt squirrel in WA? The regulations seem surprisingly complicated.

Vauv $10k right there! Always looking forward to your videos.
I pack the same amount of stuff...for myself lol.
What is the rule or law where you hunting Simon.. they let you use a Binocular???? To look for squirrel and deer…???
Your dad likes tomatoes. Try tomato paste next time. Major flavor
I need to get a .22 or a shotgun.... currently using a daisy 880 with open sights and can't hit em whatsoever
Nice 5
What tent does your dad have?
General season starts on the 24th
In California limited for squirrels only 4
Got to used that rifle brother shotgun is to messy.
White salmon area?
This is where my uncultured American self who doesn't wash his rice thoroughly would save on a little water 😂
The Gray squirrels there are bigger than the ones I hunt
🔥🔥🔥
Here in northern california
Whats the name of that shotgun
I have a 28gauge i use for them
