legit tought me how to gain stage and how leaving enough headroom going into the plug-in effects how it works, changed how my mixes sound.

Dude nice speakers! I use a pair of B&W 802 matrix for my mains. Those old B&W loudspeakers make for great and very underrated monitors.

Interesting. Is it possible to daisy chain 2 of the SSL12? Thanks✌🏼

Sounds good. If you did a 2 minute video of your set up, DAW, Plug ins, Amp models, Buffer sizes etc, & show the Guitar being plucked with room sound and speaker sound (demonstrating latency) - I think it would be the first and only video showing that example. Coz I can't find a video really showing real world use of latency for any I/Os. It's a very important thing to know for anyone who wants to do live looping in Ableton (or any other s/ware looper) or play through s/ware amp modelling. a little too much latency can completely muck up the feel. Good on ya Doug. I appreciate your reply and youtube channel.

Thanks Andrew that is a great idea for sure. I know hdx rigs where latency comes in play. Definitely makes a huge difference and a good video to explore on my end. I also want to test the adat and make sure no latency comes up.

that was very helpful thanks ...I am new to all this does the SSL 12 have preamp line level bypass outside of the adat?

Hey Doug, I just picked up one of these after watching your video and I love it. I’m kind of new to the routing out to hardware world, but I also picked up an SSL ultraviolet EQ after watching your video. Do you think you could either explain here, or even better, make a video, on how to run line outs, 3 and 4, out to a stereo piece of gear, and then back in, to print the processed signal. I’m missing something but I just can’t seem to figure out. Getting weird feedback and bull crap. I know it’s user error, and I believe it’s something I’m missing in the SSL 360 software, but I could really use some help to understand this signal flow. Thanks brother. 🙏🙂

@@DougJenkins Thank you so much brother!!! I’m going back and forth with SSL technical support and haven’t gotten any definitive answers yet. Literally “NO ONE”, has done a video on this yet!!! They only cover using line outs 3 & 4 to feed extra monitors, or out to synths or headphone mixes. Nothing about setting up a round trip through analog outboard gear. I really appreciate it bud!! 🙏😁

Can the preamps be bypassed when using an external mic pre? (besides ADAT).

    Hey DJ
Are the 2 SSL plug ins that you spoke of FREE to own and use because you purchased the unit?
Or are they a limited time use that the owner has to subscribe and pay to continue to use?
    Thanks for this review.

Hows the latency playing gtr direct in throught amp models & fx in the DAW? Say if the DAW is Logic or Ableton on an M1 mac. Is the latency too much a problem. I'd love to see a video on that. Maybe compared to RME or Apollo or something .

It' great, just tracked a guitar with it, I have a 12 core mac, but the m1 competes all day long. I was very happy with the latency

I have used an apogee element 24 interface for many years and I just recently bought an Audient id 24 and I just returned that interface today because the sound quality was inferior to what I had been used to with the element. How would you say the AD/DA conversion is on the SSl 12 and just overall sound quality? Im looking at either getting the SSl 12 or the apogee symphony desktop at the moment.

@@LPMojoGL No I haven't tried the SSL 12 but I have used the SSL 2+ several years ago. I remember not having any issues with it , but I wasn't really comparing or anything like that at that particular time.

the title of your video should have been... please buy SSL 12, I AM a fan don't misunderstand me, but it is clearly nothing else than another ''masked promotion video'' which is also fine, but..still..
